Of course, we also offer a series of guided hikes with various degrees of difficulty. Our hiking info point offers many maps and nature books. In each room, you will find a hiking rucksack for the duration of your stay, and you can borrow hiking poles and water bottles from reception.

Recommendations for tours and maps are available at the reception. We will be pleased to give you our personal tips. We also offer trekking bikes free of charge. High-quality mountain bikes, e-bikes and road bikes can be rented at the Ötzi Bikeshop.With 10 guided bike tours per week, there is guaranteed to be something for everyone, and with 7 nights' accommodation, 3 guided tours are even included. A very nice hotel with excellent service. We stayed there for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The rooms are modern and spacious. Swimming in the two pools is pleasant, and there are plenty of free loungers. The food is excellent, and the service is friendly and attentive.
We hiked a lot in this beautiful region. We also went biking. A truly wonderful week's vacation in a fantastic location.

We stayed at the Hotel Sand as a family with two small children for 8 days, and what can I say? It was a truly wonderful, top-notch vacation!
The Bernhart family puts their whole heart into it every day, and you can tell that this hotel is run with passion.
The food is simply fabulous! I can't remember ever having such an exceptional breakfast on a hiking vacation. It had everything – from muesli to fresh cheese, quark, yogurt, and freshly prepared scrambled eggs or omelets with your choice of ingredients.
Dinner was simply unbeatable. There was a 5-course menu every evening (Sunday was 7 courses), which not only tasted fantastic but also looked beautiful. Our son has various food allergies – there was a special children's menu for him, which made my mom's heart sing. Everyone made sure he didn't miss out, and his every wish was fulfilled!
The Hotel Sand has a beautiful sauna area, a great outdoor area, and a small fitness room, which we also used. A vacation at the Hotel Sand costs money, but you get quality and service across the board, and you're simply happy afterward. A huge compliment to the entire team at the Hotel Sand – the hard-working cleaning staff, the great service staff, the owners – everyone was super welcoming, friendly, and helpful! We'll definitely be back :)

We stayed at this hotel from August 11th to 15th and had a wonderful time. The hotel is welcoming, modern, and attentive to detail. The amenities are excellent, from the rooms (equipped with pool kits, including towels, slippers, and a bag for guest use, and a convenient hiking backpack for mountain hikes) to the pools (the entire garden is well-maintained). What really makes the difference is the high-quality food, from breakfast to afternoon tea to the multi-course dinner served in the restaurant. The staff is excellent, very professional, and qualified. We had a problem with our room, but they promptly resolved it, making us feel at ease and at ease. Top marks! Congratulations on your work.

Wir sind ganz bewusst zum 2. Mal hier. Das Hotel bietet sehr schöne Annehmlichkeiten, wie z.b.der 25m Pool , der stets auf angenehme 29° geheizt ist. Ein kl. Hallenbad, Fitnessraum. Daneben gibt es 2 Saunen, eine Infrarotsauna und ein Dampfbad. Alle sind großzügig gestaltet. Mehrere Ruheräume mit ausreichend Liegen sind vorhanden. Dazu der schöne Garten, ebenfalls mit genügend Liegen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist aber die Kulinarik. Tolle kreative Abendmenüs und prima Frühstücksbuffet. Das Hotel bietet keinen großen Trubel. Es ist aufgrund seiner Größe sehr angenehm ruhig, aber nicht langweilig.

Great family vacation
We stayed at the Hotel Sand for 5 nights with our two children (4 and 6).
A wonderful, well-maintained hotel with the charm of both old and new.
Our room was a very spacious, clean, and modern family room on the north side.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
There was a small playground for the children, and the indoor pool was perfect for swimming (depending on the weather).
As a mom, I was able to treat myself to a little "me-time" in the wellness area, which is beautifully designed. The outdoor pool is a visual eye-catcher in itself.
A big compliment to the service: super attentive and child-friendly. The kids had a wonderful time... so we parents could relax and enjoy ourselves too. Thanks also to the wonderful service from Mary and Hubert!!!
The food was great... Thanks to the kitchen!
All in all, a successful vacation with an attentive hotel family.

Nice hotel in the Vinschgau Valley. It's located on the main road about 15 minutes from Merano. We had our room facing the main road. The traffic was quite audible, which would certainly be unpleasant in the summer heat with open windows. The new building, where the wellness area and outdoor pool are located, is much quieter. The wellness area is nice, with saunas and a relaxation room with mountain views. The indoor water could have been warmer, especially for children; restrooms would have been good there too. However, the heating in the room was difficult to regulate. We turned it off because it was too hot. The location, directly on the Adige cycle path, is an advantage for cyclists. The evening food was usually very tasty, although the afternoon snack was very sparse and significantly less varied. A little butter on the rolls would have been nice. The staff was polite and unobtrusive. It was okay, but we wouldn't come again.

The staff is very friendly and helpful at all times. The designer rooms with large windows are very bright and stylish, offering views of the pool, garden, and mountains. The food is delicious. The wellness area is beautiful. As a swimmer, I particularly enjoyed the 25-meter heated pool. It's a great starting point for hikes... We had a wonderful time there and would love to come back.

This hotel is located at the foot of the road in the Vinschgau region. The city of Merano is about 15 minutes away by car. The hotel is surrounded by apple orchards. The train also passes near the hotel. However, the hotel is quiet and you can rest very well. The hotel's cuisine is very good and well presented. The rooms are spacious and generally face the back where you can see the apple orchards and the pool area and outdoor garden. Good spa area with pool and outdoor garden. The hotel offers activities during your stay. Service in general very friendly.

Die Hotelausstattung ist vom Feinsten. Alles ist so auf einander abgestimmt. Die Farben und die Materialien überzeugten sehr. Das gesamte Personsl war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Gartenanlage war bombastisch und sehr gepflegt. Gefallen hat uns auch, dass die Zimmer nicht mit Tieren bebuchbar sind (Allergie).

Ich hatte eine unvergessliche Woche im Hotel Sand. Das Haus wurde erst vor 3 Jahren um den Neubau ergänzt und renoviert. Die Aussenpools und Saunalandschaft sind ein Traum. Auch die gesamte Gartenanlage ist wunderschön und bietet für jeden ein privates Plätzchen... im Blumengarten, aus Pool, am Seerosenteich, ...
Familie Bernhardt kümmert sich rührend um jeden Gast und seine Wünsche.
Empfehlung: die HP ist ein MUSS. Exzellente Küche und vielseitiges Frühstück.
Ich werde sicher wiederkommen.

My husband and I spent two holidays at this wonderful property.
The owners and all the staff are extremely kind and helpful, everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail, both inside and out. The cuisine is delicious, the sauna area is spectacular, and the relaxation area is spectacular.

The designer rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a spacious terrace. However, just one armchair in a double room isn't enough!
The half-board food is excellent – a very extensive breakfast buffet, varied 6-course dinners of high quality, and an extensive wine list featuring primarily fine South Tyrolean wines.

Very beautiful garden with a pool. Pleasant wellness area. A bit outside. Right on the street, with rooms facing the garden, it's very quiet. Public transport is about 1 km away (train). The bus in front of the house hardly ever runs. The food is varied.

Next to the traditional original building a new building has been built as addition in very modern style with new wellness area and a swimming pool plus a natural pond.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Breakfast as well as 5-course menu for dinner were delicious. You can go hiking, biking or take the train to Meran to explore more from the area.

We spent three nights here and it's very nice. The staff is very attentive and friendly, it's a great place to relax, and hiking and biking are also a lot of fun, even if you're not a frequent cyclist. Breakfast and dinner are delicious and often beautifully presented. It has an upscale atmosphere but still feels like a family place. Our room is very nicely furnished and cozy with a lovely view of the pool, garden, and mountains.

The food is excellent, the staff courteous and helpful. The indoor facilities are not up to scratch, but the outdoor pond and garden are good. The rooms are nice but worn.

Ruhige und gepflegte Atmosphäre. Ausgezeichnetes Essen, für Feinschmecker. Daher wirklich nur zu empfehlen, wer dies auch zu schätzen weiß. Wunderschöne und gepflegte Gartenanlage zum Entspannen.

Wir sind an unserem Anreisetag superfreundlich empfangen worden. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit, ebenso die Hotellierfamilie. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Überall findt man einen ruhigen Platz zum Ausruhen, da es sehr viele Sitzgelegenheiten im Garten (wunderschön) gibt. Das Zimmer war schön und vor allem sehr sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und dafür danken wir der Gastgeberfamilie. Elisabeth und Christistian Tinner

We spent another week at the Hotel Sand in Vinschgau. I think it was the 15th or 16th time we've visited this hotel. As always, it was "top top top."
The food was great, the service was great, and the rooms have always been great, but the new rooms in the modern Alpine style are amazing.
The fact that there's always something new makes the hotel so exciting for us. This time, there was a new Vinschgau Card that allowed us to use all buses and trains for free, so we could explore the area on our hotel bikes and take the train back.
The entire staff is exceptionally attentive; our every wish is fulfilled immediately.
This wasn't our last visit to the Hotel Sand, and there will be many more to come.

Gutes Essen, nettes freundliches Personal, Zimmer und Sauberkeit der Zimmer i.O., die geführten Wanderungen waren ebenfalls gut In Summe ein empfehlenswertes Hotel.
