We had a wonderful holiday at the Wiesenhof between Christmas and New Year's. The rooms are fantastic with everything you could need. The cuisine is very varied, and you're always surprised with something you've never eaten before. My only suggestion would be that they could incorporate a bit more South Tyrolean cuisine; I would have really loved to have Kaiserschmarren for dessert. But that's just a matter of taste The service, or rather the entire staff, is incredibly friendly, and we felt very comfortable. The location is also great, with a bus stop right in front of the hotel. We also easily walked to Merano in 20 minutes. The spa and massage facilities are top-notch. We will definitely be back.

We were truly delighted and pleasantly surprised. The staff, from reception to service to housekeeping, were all exceptionally friendly and always attentive to making our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. The spa area leaves nothing to be desired, with ample relaxation rooms and loungers. The cuisine was superb, from the truly extensive breakfast buffet with freshly prepared egg dishes made to order, to afternoon cakes, and the five-course dinner. The location amidst the orchards is excellent, and the Merano Passerpromenade is within easy reach. Plenty of parking is available. We would gladly return.

The hotel is located less than 10 minutes from the center of Merano and has ample parking. The room was spacious, new, and impeccably clean, as was the bathroom, which was truly fantastic. After a day exploring the Merano markets, the sauna and indoor pool were perfect for relaxing.

We spent a pleasant week at the Hotel Wiesenhof in Algund during the autumn. The ambiance and furnishings, both inside and out, make a very good impression. The rooms are very nice and modern. Everything is very clean and tidy. With the exception of one employee in the restaurant, all the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Nevertheless, we wouldn't return to the Wiesenhof because, for us, there are two significant drawbacks: the cuisine and the location. While the cuisine is very diverse and creative, unfortunately, during our week-long stay, not a single dish in the five-course menu was entirely enjoyable. I think the kitchen would benefit from reducing the number of dishes and buffet options and focusing more on quality. Six different kinds of butter aren't necessary, but there's a general lack of plates, cups, hot water, coffee beans, etc. The hotel's location is generally very central and well-connected by public transport, but it's situated directly on a very busy road. Every time you leave the hotel, you feel like you're standing on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin, and the holiday atmosphere is immediately gone.

We stayed at this magnificent property for a week in August, conveniently located for public transportation and just a 20-minute walk from the center of Merano. The welcome was exceptional, with a thorough explanation of the services and an escort to our room by one of the owners (something I hadn't seen in years, but very welcome). We stayed in the superior double room, which was spacious and spotlessly clean, with a large and comfortable wood-paneled balcony. Above all, it was quiet and peaceful, with a breathtaking view of the apple orchards surrounding the hotel and the mountains beyond. The meticulously maintained garden and lush pool area made relaxing at the hotel a true blessing for us city dwellers. The breakfast was excellent, featuring many local products that were not only delicious but also genuinely flavorful. The sweet afternoon snacks were also excellent, and the dinner dishes, a bit unusual but worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant, offered a wide variety of options (the meat was perfectly cooked and the variety of vegetables offered were excellent). All the hotel staff were extremely kind and eager to help us or offer helpful advice, including for various excursions in the area. We didn't use the indoor spa due to the nice weather, preferring the garden, but it looked very beautiful and well-kept. However, we did eat the apples and drank the excellent herbal teas in the herbal tea room.
We will definitely recommend it and will return!

This is the sixth time we've spent our post-Christmas holidays at the Wiesenhof as a family. The hotel is always beautifully decorated for Christmas and exudes a homey atmosphere. The welcome with a glass of sparkling wine was, as always, warm and professional. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean. The housekeeping staff does a great job.
The breakfast buffet is excellent and leaves nothing to be desired. The afternoon cake trolley, which invites you to linger, was always well-stocked with delicacies. The evening meal was tasty and varied. Sometimes there were some unusual combinations, but we prefer good, classic cuisine.
Uli, the service manager, is simply fantastic. She and her entire team truly care about the well-being of their guests and are friendly and accommodating.
Even though it's only a 15-minute walk to the beautiful Christmas market in Merano, there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel. With the South Tyrolean Mobil Card, a gift from the hotel, we were able to get by without a car the entire time and even drove to Bolzano.
The spa area is beautiful and very popular. The masseuse is very competent, and the time spent with her is pleasant.
All in all, a very pleasant few days that we'll be back for soon.

The rooms are very tastefully furnished, clearly showing the touch of a woman, as is the rest of the hotel, from the entrance to the dining room. There are little "eye-catchers" everywhere.
The hotel offers a sauna area, swimming pool, fitness room, and outdoor pool.
Various treatments can be booked during the day.
The garden surrounding the entire hotel is also very well-maintained.
The underground parking garage is spacious and offers plenty of room even for large cars.
There's ample space for e-bike riders to park and charge their bikes.
Electric cars are also very welcome; charging stations are available.

It has everything you could wish for. True sauna lovers would also like an ice pool. Something like that is apparently in the planning stages...
The location is fantastic, in a beautiful green setting with mighty trees, and extremely quiet. Parking is not a problem here. The city center is a short walk away. Bicycles are also available.

The Wiesenhof exceeded our expectations; it's a shame you can only give 5 stars. The staff were incredibly friendly in every department, and we felt welcome by everyone. The room I stayed in was spacious, bright, well-furnished, and above all, clean.
I particularly appreciated the breakfast buffet, with a wide selection of sweet and savory options to accommodate all dietary needs.
The restaurant is truly excellent, at Michelin-star level, with truly unique and varied dishes and quality service.

The beautiful, well-kept garden simply invites you to relax and unwind – a dream. The restaurant and its outdoor area are very inviting and tastefully decorated – so the delicious and varied dishes do the rest. A feast for the eyes. ;-)
The hotel's location is perfect if you want to leave the car behind. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, providing easy access to many hiking and excursion destinations – the bus schedule is well-timed. You can start hikes directly from the hotel and reach Merano's city center in a short time on foot.
We enjoyed our stay at the Wiesenhof and will definitely return.

You can't help but feel at home in this hotel! The warm welcome upon entering, the lovingly designed rooms, and the diverse and varied selection at the breakfast buffet and dinner leave nothing to be desired. The spa area and relaxation rooms allow you to quickly forget everyday life. The rooftop is particularly noteworthy; here you can enjoy the magnificent view and absolute peace and quiet.
Although the hotel is located on the main road, you don't hear any traffic at all. The bus stop right in front of the hotel is great; you can simply leave the car behind.
It was simply beautiful, and we would love to come back.

We thank you for a "wonderful stay," are already looking forward to being guests again, and can wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful, traditional hotel.
️Our "Panorama Room No. 2" was the best decision and worth every penny. I love the hanging rocking chair, and the view was a dream. The mountain panorama stretched out before us like a painting, framed and accompanied by lush green plants and a very well-kept garden.
️Big praise for the non-random distribution of "bathroom amenities" and the provision of "bath towels." Whether in the small, elegant fitness room or the indoor pool, which is modern and spacious, just to my taste. Anything additional can be obtained at any time at reception or from housekeeping. Now that's what I call sustainable.
The "breakfast brunch" was a tasteful selection of everything we like for breakfast. I loved the exclusive "tea selection" (not just tea bags). The lady who prepared any breakfast egg dish with dedication and what felt like a lot of love was charming; thank you so much for that.
What I would have loved, perhaps I should have just ordered that, was "freshly squeezed orange juice."
️The cappuccino in the morning was good, but in the afternoon at the cake buffet, despite being a portafilter coffee machine, it was too hot for us and tasted like a filter coffee, lacking body. However, we're also gourmets, so don't overestimate them.
The "staff" was very attentive and professional. Sometimes, for me personally, they're a bit too ambitious, so you might forget one thing or another. But that's just a very affectionate comment. Staff these days is the most valuable asset, and the fact that they are so service-oriented at the Wiesenhof speaks for a "top hotel culture" of togetherness.
Parking in front of the hotel or the previously booked underground parking space with electric charging facilities was perfect. The garage isn't huge, but it's adequate and easily accessible by elevator.
The bus stop right in front of the hotel is ideal for everyone, allowing them to easily reach more distant destinations and set off on hikes from there. The road directly in front of the hotel didn't bother us at all. The intense and dense green of the garden and the apple trees all around make you feel like you're in a green oasis.
Many thanks to the entire hotel team. It should be mentioned here that, as "first-time visitors," we received a personalized tour of the entire hotel immediately upon arrival. Fantastic.
And to top it all off, the dinner menu was incredibly elegant, high-class, and multifaceted. Thank you so much for this treat to our palates. We absolutely enjoyed every evening in the airy, green, and modern dining room.
Another tip: enjoy the roof terrace. It's so beautifully designed and you don't get enough time to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beautiful view.

Each stay has exceeded our expectations—from the warm and welcoming staff to the meticulous attention to detail and the delicious, varied breakfast options. The hotel's beauty, especially the spectacular view from the garden rooms, adds to its charm. The proximity to Merano center is convenient.

I'd like to start by saying that I stayed at this property with my partner and a couple of dear friends during the New Year's Eve celebrations. I was immediately struck by its strategic location in the beautiful town of Lagundo, just a stone's throw from Merano. The interior of the property is beautifully designed and meticulously maintained. The reception staff were immediately friendly and helpful, as were the dining room staff at various times. Inside, the room was very welcoming, with amenities such as a minibar and safe. It had an en-suite bathroom with a large LED shower and even built-in mirrors for easy makeup application. The stunning mountain views are guaranteed, and the electronically controlled awnings are a classy touch. Breakfast was truly plentiful and delicious, ranging from sweet to savory, with a wide variety of buffet options, including a home-made breakfast prepared to order. Meals of the day can be selected from the chef's various suggestions on a printed menu by checking the boxes next to your preferred meal, which is a nice touch. The food was very good and authentic. There are many amenities available, including a spa complete with an indoor pool with hydromassage, a Turkish bath, various saunas, a solarium, and more. In a room adjacent to the pool, there was a relaxation area with a kettle, various herbal teas, and Trentino red apples. In short, I can say I had a unique experience, truly relaxing, thanks in large part to the staff who made us feel right at home. Kudos to the two owners, who aren't just employers, but true leaders; everyone here feels like part of one family. I would love to return. Chapeau!

One of the best places I've ever stayed: The hotel in Lagundo is just steps from the town center and a few minutes from Merano (considering the stop right outside the hotel and the bus/train services from the region included in the price, the location is extremely convenient). The service is courteous and attentive to even the smallest requests. Breakfast is plentiful and caters to all tastes, and the room (our room, no. 100) is huge and spotlessly clean. My wife and I were on our honeymoon from Australia. We were catching a train to Milan from Munich. Due to a language barrier, we got off on the wrong stop and ended up in Marano. We frantically had to find accommodation last minute.
I then called hotel Wiesenhof, and the beautiful Francesca picked up the phone and helped us out by not only booking a room, she gave us a discounted rate due to our situation and helped us immensely!
She was SO polite and extremely friendly, and her English was amazing!!
She made us feel completely relaxed and calm after what happened to us. And the next morning when we’re leaving she also organised a taxi to pick us up in the morning and have a nice little gift before we left. We would just to say to Francesca, thank you so much again! You are the best.

Although the hotel is inconspicuously hidden, it offers a very good location close to the city center of Merano, including its own bus stop (free public transport for hotel guests).
The lobby and reception are very inviting, stylish, and friendly. You immediately feel welcome. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and immediately responds to all requests.
A major plus is the hotel's underground parking garage and the ample parking spaces in front of the hotel.
The outdoor pool, the indoor pool, and the spa and wellness area are perfect places to relax and unwind.
The hotel's highlight is definitely the panoramic terrace on the 4th floor of the new building.
The prices are very fair for this area.

The Hotel Wiesenhof can be recommended without reservation. We received a very warm welcome on our arrival, and the receptionist took a lot of time to check us in – something we've never experienced before in a hotel.

After several years, we finally made it back to the Wiiesenhof. In 2020, the front section of the hotel was completely rebuilt. The architecture is designed for a modern, bright ambiance, which is also reflected in the new rooms. Friendly, modern, and sustainable - always with a focus on the region and its surroundings. In my opinion, the renovation has elevated the hotel to the top of the region.
The reception was, as always, very friendly. A member of staff showed us around the hotel and led us to our room – a way to immediately feel welcome!
The rooms are bright and cheerfully furnished. We particularly liked the choice of materials used in the furnishings. The rooms are spacious and of a good size. We had a balcony with sun loungers, a small table, and chairs. A walk-in closet, accessible bathroom, and air conditioning – all more than standard these days.
The cuisine is in keeping with the overall feel of the hotel and more than lives up to the expectations of the owners and guests. A multi-course menu is served every evening, some of which are themed. From the salad buffet to dessert, a cornucopia of flavors, textures, and refinement. It's not far from Michelin-starred cuisine... If desired, the extensive wine list offers the perfect accompaniment to the menu. Those undecided will receive excellent advice from the staff sommelier.
Another thing worth mentioning is the predominant use of regional products, which are marked accordingly on the menu. The beers and wines come almost exclusively from the region. The basic idea of "regionality" is not just a marketing slogan; it is more than lived here.
At breakfast, nothing is lacking. The selection is more than plentiful. An omelet station, French press coffee, regional cheeses, and regional ham and sausage specialties round out the offerings. You'll hardly know where to start or stop...
In the evening, the newly designed bar invites you to a nightcap. Here, too, nothing is lacking—including regional specialties from the region's many distilleries, breweries, and wineries.
An outdoor and an indoor pool provide cooling and fun for young and old. Massages and treatments can be booked upon request, and a fitness room also provides relaxation and exercise. The atmosphere of the hotel is reflected in these areas as well. Everything is bright, modern, and inviting.
The location of the hotel is perfect. Merano and the town of Algund are within walking distance. There's also a bus stop in front of the hotel, where you can take the bus for free with your guest card.
We felt very comfortable from the first minute to the last. We'll definitely be back!

I was torn for a long time between giving it 3 stars and 4.
I decided to give it 3 because, although most of the services tend to be excellent, one, perhaps the most important, left me feeling rather disappointed.
My girlfriend and I stayed in the Superior Double Room: it's beautiful, very clean, and spacious.
Breakfast and dinner were delicious, refined, and very well-prepared.
The room cleaning service was practically impeccable, and we were also pleased with the waiters during meals.
We really appreciated the complete and clean spa.
We also tried some treatments (massages, etc.) and were very happy with the masseuse.
The real problem was the feeling we had throughout our stay: we felt like "second-class guests."
We don't know if the reason was our nationality (preferential treatment toward people of German origin) or our young age (22/23 years old).
We weren't treated discriminatorily, but rather in a more distant and superficial manner.
Toward the end of our stay, there was no hot water for a few hours. We inquired at reception, and they resolved the issue as quickly as possible (the following morning).
At checkout, they informed us that we would receive a discount on some paid treatments, to apologize for the inconvenience of the lack of hot water.
The feeling of detachment we felt throughout our stay was confirmed at checkout.
We noticed that all guests received a gift upon departure (personal care products or similar).
We didn't receive any. This truly disappointed me.
Not so much for the item itself, but for the gesture.

Very friendly staff and a warm welcome. The rooms are very spacious, modern, and equipped with everything you could need. The suites are absolutely fantastic; you can really relax there. The food is varied, with a large selection of wines—it's best to ask the staff for recommendations. The service is attentive. There's a cool bar with great drinks. Entertainment is also provided, from hikes and excursions to live music and mini-seminars, such as a beer tasting. All in all, excellent. This is what makes a great stay!

For nearly 20 years now, we've loved returning to the Wiesenhof in Algund. Over the years, the hotel has continuously improved, always keeping the guests at the forefront! The entire hotel is furnished with meticulous attention to detail, and the rooms, in particular, are beautifully decorated. The heart of the hotel is the restaurant, where you can enjoy exquisite meals in the evening! And of course, the wine list is sure to delight any wine lover. A culinary triumph!

I give it 5 stars because it's impossible: what can I say other than everything's perfect? Starting with the location, it's excellent both for the highway and for the center of Merano, easily accessible on foot or by bus (the hotel provided us with a couple of tickets). The property is modern, impeccably furnished, and very welcoming. The balconies offer splendid views from every angle. The indoor and outdoor pools are spectacular, as is the garden. The rooms are spotless, spacious, and bright. Having taken advantage of the half-board option, we also had the opportunity to sample a five-course dinner plus a buffet worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Breakfast was also excellent, always a buffet with a wide variety of delicious options. Excellent value for money, and last but not least, I'd like to highlight the friendliness, kindness, and attentiveness of all the staff, whom I sincerely thank for their impeccable hospitality. Even though we only spent one night there, on the occasion of my partner's birthday, they were thoughtful enough to wish him a happy birthday and set our table especially for him, complete with a greeting card. Small gestures, but by no means obvious, that speak volumes about the excellent quality of this hotel. We hope to return soon. Highly recommended.

Many thanks again to the Schrötter family and the entire hotel team for the wonderful week we were able to spend with you. The location was perfect for us, on the edge of Algund, a 30-40 minute walk to Merano town center, or easily accessible by bus (free with the Algund Card) which stops right in front of the hotel. The room – we had a superior double room (room 40, July 27th - August 3rd) with an east-southeast view. It was very clean, with a large balcony, and equipped exactly as we would expect from a 4-star hotel. What struck us immediately after the first night, however, was the complete lack of noise – no toilet flushing from the other rooms or any other sounds whatsoever. It was an absolutely quiet room (with soundproof windows), which is rare. We could hear Josef Weingartner Street when we were on the balcony, but this wasn't a problem for us. The food – we were pleasantly surprised here as well. The food was delicious, with a good selection of dishes – something for everyone. The service was pleasant and friendly; for example, wine was only refilled upon request. The drinks selection and prices were good, so every guest should find something to suit their needs. The pricing is in line with what we've come to expect from other hotels in this star category. The garden and pools were lovely; a refreshing dip after a hike was wonderful.
Regarding COVID-19, masks were only required at the buffet and on public transport, and hand sanitizer was needed. Otherwise, everything was quite straightforward, and we were free to move around as we pleased – very pleasant!
In conclusion: A fantastic week's holiday with hosts who are attentive to every guest and are currently facing an extraordinary challenge with the new building and the ongoing pandemic.

It's one of the "better" hotels, so the price/performance ratio is rather moderate.

It's perhaps worth mentioning that the hotel is more suitable for couples and older guests. The average age of the guests is rather high, and the ambiance inside the hotel reflects this (except for the newly renovated areas like the terrace, the garden rooms, and the spa). The only downside, albeit a minor one, is that the Wi-Fi in the rooms is practically non-functional. A good connection is only available in the lobby. But who needs the internet in such a relaxing place in beautiful South Tyrol anyway...

I think the price is fair for the amenities available.
The breakfast, afternoon dessert buffet, and dinner were excellent, the room was spotless, and the staff was always truly kind and helpful, from the beginning to the end of the holiday.
The only complaints were the Wi-Fi, which was nonexistent throughout most of the hotel, and it was also a shame about the spa's opening hours, which were closed in the mornings, except for the indoor pool, which was open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Otherwise, everything was excellent
