We stayed five days at the Val Passiria resort. As always, we couldn't help but appreciate the quality of the facilities, the spa treatments (especially the saunas), the food, and the extremely friendly and professional staff. We'll definitely be back :)

Very friendly staff in all areas.
The food is excellent.
Unfortunately, there are several things to criticize: There are several unsightly areas in the spa and around the pools, such as broken tiles and dirty silicone sealant. This shouldn't be the case at a 5-star resort in this price range. Furthermore, the outdoor pools are too cold; there should be at least one or two that are warmer.
But what we missed most were pools in the adults-only area where you can swim without swimwear.
In conclusion: It was nice, but not worthy of 5 stars; we're used to better.

We stayed at the Quellenhof in South Tyrol with a total of six adults and four children and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were extremely comfortable, modern, and very well-maintained.
A particular highlight was the food: varied, high-quality, and simply delicious. The attention to detail and the high standards of the cuisine were evident.
The spa area was outstanding – especially the show sauna. There were fantastic opportunities for both adults and children to relax and have fun.
We felt welcome and very well cared for at all times. The Quellenhof is definitely a place we'll be returning to!

Me and my family were here for the second time already. It became our yearly tradition now, as our experience is always outstanding. My personal highlight is the food. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. It is honestly one of the best foods I had so far. Our waiter Marek rounded up our food experience with first class waitering and always a nice conversation. Besides the great food, we did lots of sport and of course wellness.
Looking forward to coming again next year!

This was our second time at the Quellenhof with the whole family, and once again we were absolutely thrilled. It simply feels like a little paradise. The hotel, the staff, the rooms, and the entire spa offering are truly unique.
Besides the wellness experience, my husband particularly values having plenty of sporting activities, and the Quellenhof delivers on that front perfectly. We went paddleboarding, worked out in the gym, and participated in a functional training session with a trainer from the fitness team. Afterwards, the steam bath felt doubly well-deserved.
We've already booked again for next year!

The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms were modern, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable. We were particularly impressed by the friendly and attentive staff, who were always ready to help. The breakfast was varied and of excellent quality. The location is also ideal for exploring the surrounding area. We will definitely return and can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is undoubtedly very beautiful, with numerous amenities and several children's areas, but overall—compared to other 5-star family hotels—I struggle to justify such a high price, which is on average about 30% higher. Given these figures and the stated standards, I would have expected a higher level of perfection.
We stayed two nights (Friday and Saturday) on half board, with two adults and two children aged 3 and 6, for a total of €1,650.
Our suite, though spacious, had a bathroom with 1980s ceramic tiles, no mixer tap (just old hot/cold water knobs), and only one toilet, when hotels of this caliber typically have two. Furthermore, there was no soap in the toilet and bidet area: you had to go to the sink dispenser or even the shower dispenser.
Buffet and food: the overall quality is good, but the children's buffet was decidedly poor and lacking in variety. Only one bar/bistro was open for lunch, which was undersized for the number of guests.
Pools and family areas:
– The water in the family pools was not particularly warm, making the outdoor pool unusable.
– There were no lifeguards in the family pools, no water depth markings, and no sign prohibiting diving: features that, in addition to being considered essential, I believe are required by law.
Structure and orientation: The hotel is divided into several buildings, some of which are connected by underground corridors that smelled strongly of mold. Navigating the interior is difficult due to poor signage. Although we were told our area was convenient for families, to get to breakfast or dinner we had to take three different elevators and walk through numerous corridors. The same corridors also lead to the family pools and are cold for those walking in bathrobes and too hot for those walking in full clothes.
Details lacking compared to true 5-star establishments:
Unlike other establishments of the same caliber, there are no small touches like herbal tea stations, apples, or information about the drinkability of the tap water—details that normally enrich the experience.
In-house prices: Product costs are very high; for example, a bottle of Santa Margherita Prosecco was listed for €39, when online it can easily be found for €12. In addition to the very high margin, the lack of attention to wine selection is striking.
In summary, the establishment has a lot of potential and is pleasant, but, considering the prices charged, there are several aspects that—in my opinion—require significant improvement.

Wonderful Spa Resort Experience
Our stay at this spa resort was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly warm, attentive, and helpful. Every team member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure we had a relaxing and enjoyable experience, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay.
The resort’s restaurants were exceptional, offering a great variety of delicious and beautifully prepared dishes. Whether it was breakfast or dinner, the quality and presentation of the food were impressive.
Cleanliness was clearly a top priority. Every space—from the rooms to the common areas and spa facilities—was spotless and well maintained. The hospitality overall was outstanding, with thoughtful touches that made our visit feel luxurious and personalized.
The scenery was breathtaking—surrounded by stunning views that added so much tranquility to our time there. Whether lounging by the pools or enjoying a walk around the property, the natural beauty truly enhanced the experience.
Our only wish is that the outdoor pool temperatures had been warmer. With everything else being so perfect, we hoped to enjoy those areas a bit more comfortably. That said, it was a minor concern in an otherwise exceptional stay.
We highly recommend this spa resort and would happily return!

This was our first time at Quellenhof, and we were thrilled with the wide range of activities on offer; there was something for everyone. Our three-year-old granddaughter was entertained all day long, whether swimming, splashing around, playing on the playground, or visiting the horses and donkey. In short, it was a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent, the rooms were lovely, and everything was spotlessly clean. There was something for everyone, and we will definitely be back.

A resort that's almost perfect!
We spontaneously spent six days at this resort with our two children (ages 6 and 9). The resort truly leaves nothing to be desired.
There's so much on offer, especially for children. Four tennis courts, two padel courts, and a high-quality artificial turf soccer field leave nothing to be desired in terms of sports. And the kids' club with its climbing wall, cinema, water park, and action park, including a go-kart track, keeps them entertained. It's a bit of a shame that to get to the action park, the children have to go outside (it can get a bit chilly in the evenings) and, more importantly, through the somewhat dangerous equestrian center. There seems to be an underground connection to the reception, but it's only accessible to guests staying in the lake lodge.
For adults, there's a huge selection of modern saunas and pools, and, as already mentioned, a wide range of sports facilities, including a driving range and a four-hole golf course.
Breakfast and dinner are absolutely fantastic; the quality of the food is top-notch!
We'd love to come back!

I was invited by a hotel manager to present my niche perfumes. The first thing she said was, "I use 20-euro perfumes." So I told her, "I traveled 4 hours to get here, and now it's another 4 hours to get back." If she wasn't planning on exhibiting, why did she bother me? Did she think she was getting free perfume?
She literally took the piss out of me. These are the people who ruin a hotel's reputation, and she definitely won't be a customer of mine.

My wife, our two children, and I had the great pleasure of being guests at the Quellenhof. It was our first stay—both at the Quellenhof and in South Tyrol—and we were absolutely delighted. It was a wonderful vacation, and we are certain we will return.
The hotel's location is idyllic, we had glorious weather, and the staff were consistently courteous and helpful. The range of activities for both adults and children is impressively diverse. The spa area for adults, in particular, is simply outstanding—a real highlight!
However, the children's area was a different story. Of the three slides, one was unfortunately out of order, and it seemed as if it had been closed for some time. We also noticed that the bridge by the circulating pool was already showing signs of rust on the underside. It would be nice if this were repaired—especially in a hotel with such high standards.
The culinary offerings were extensive, varied, and of very high quality—both the buffet and the plated meals.
However, the children's area was a different story. What did bother us somewhat, however, was the presence of dogs at dinner. On the one hand, there's a dress code for guests, which we greatly appreciate, but on the other hand, having dogs sitting right next to us didn't quite fit the atmosphere. Furthermore, the Quellenhof is a family resort – and not every child has grown up with dogs or feels comfortable around them. Perhaps it would be possible to develop a policy for this, such as an option to leave dogs in the care of a sitter during dinner.
Apart from that, everything was truly excellent, and we can highly recommend the Quellenhof. We're already looking forward to our next stay!
Kind regards from Switzerland

Amazing place! The Quellenhof in Val Passiria is a wonderful place to stay. The spa is wonderful, super clean and relaxing, with pools and saunas everywhere.
The dinner was spectacular; everything was delicious and meticulously cared for. The staff was friendly and always smiling.

First of all: We were guests at the Alpenschlössel and visited the spa area as well as the main building of the Quellenhof in the evening. We are enthusiastic Quellenhof holidaymakers on Lake Garda and had correspondingly high expectations – unfortunately, these weren't quite met in Passeier.
The resort is very extensive and consists of several buildings (four or five in total). This makes it a bit confusing – the paths between the buildings are sometimes quite long and not always clearly or adequately signposted.
Our biggest criticism concerns the atmosphere: If you're traveling as a couple seeking peace and quiet, you should definitely make sure you book an area without children. The Quellenhof Passeier is strongly geared towards families and children's entertainment – with playgrounds, a large slide park, a cinema, bowling, horseback riding, and billiards. While it's certainly a paradise for families, it's less suitable for couples seeking relaxation.
The layout of the spa areas was also a bit confusing. There are clothing-optional and clothing-optional areas, some of which are only accessible to those aged 14 or 16 and over – although the logic behind this isn't entirely clear.
Overall, a very high-quality resort with plenty to offer, but in our opinion, better suited for family holidays than for couples seeking peace and relaxation.

The Dorfer family does a very good job as hoteliers. Suites are suites, not like at the Sulfner Hotel in Hafling, where a run-down room is sold as a suite.
But the Quellenhof scores highly with its charm, flair, and activities like horseback riding or quad biking. Riders also get their money's worth with the attached stables!
Highly recommended!

Very nice rooms, large and bright. Large bathroom with walk-in shower, separate toilet.
The hotel complex is huge, the treatments are fantastic, the sauna and the show infusions are superb.
It's a bit of a shame that all the sauna areas are quite separated from each other, in some cases.
The gym has everything you could want, and above all, the hotel is a true paradise for children. Climbing wall, bowling, horses, and water slides are fantastic.
We'd love to come back. The service is great
The food is great too, especially at Restaurant 1897

Relaxing day at the Quellenhof Day Spa – highly recommended! ️
We visited the day spa during the off-season and had a truly lovely, relaxing day. The facility is well-maintained, quiet, and very well-designed – perfect for simply switching off. The location in South Tyrol is wonderful. Unfortunately, the helicopter flew about five times in the few hours we spent there. It was somewhat irritating.
Wellness & Spa: versatile, clean, and pleasantly quiet
Service & Food: friendly and top-quality
Value for money: okay for a day spa
What you should know, though: Room prices during peak season are quite high – and honestly, for me personally, not as spectacular as they sometimes seem on social media. But for a day stay, it's definitely a definite recommendation!

So, first of all: We traveled as a couple (36 and 39), and our goal was to relax, spend a few days fully unwinding, and simply unwind. Unfortunately, that didn't quite work out, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars.
Positive things first:
- The Bergkristall room was beautiful, very spacious, and we had a great terrace. It was very clean, and the bed was a dream. We also really liked having two bathrooms.
- All the staff are very friendly and have a smile on their faces. Especially in the See Lodge!
- The infusions are really great! Especially the one in the show sauna, I've never seen anything like it before.
- In the wellness area, you can easily find a nice place to relax; the size means everything is spread out very well, and nowhere (except during the infusions) was it very busy.
There were certainly more positives, but these things particularly stood out for me.
Now for the negatives:
- Unfortunately, the biggest nuisance was the room above us. Even before 6 a.m., an incredible amount of stomping, banging, and furniture-moving (??) from a child began, which is why we were agitated every morning. That was the end of our relaxation... After repeated requests, the reception informed them, they apologized, but nothing was done. The unbelievable stomping continued every morning. Since the hotel was fully booked, they couldn't offer us another room in the hotel. However, I honestly would have expected some kind of accommodation, be it a discount or a voucher for our next visit, or even just a bottle of wine, or something else. After all, we had daily contact because of this. Well...
- The food was okay, but I didn't particularly impress. There are other 5-star hotels where it's better. I'm cautious about using the term food poisoning, but unfortunately, I got a really bad stomach upset after eating sashimi... It could be a coincidence, I don't want to assume anything, but I've read about it in other reviews...
- The buffet really doesn't remind me of 5 stars, but the sheer number of people reminds me more of an all-inclusive holiday in Turkey; not particularly luxurious having to queue...
- The following can be put into perspective: There were a LOT of children in the hotel, which unfortunately bothered us a lot. They were running around the buffet, at the bar in the evenings, and sometimes even in the wellness area. We had imagined it differently, but we should have known that given the numerous activities for children.
- Considering the image projected (luxury!), quite a few areas in the hotel are showing their age and are sometimes tastelessly decorated, so we had higher expectations. The value for money just wasn't right for us.
All in all, it was still a lovely vacation, as we made the most of it. We probably won't come back, but if we do, it will only be to the See Lodge, where it was incredibly beautiful!

We both thoroughly enjoyed our three days at this resort. Everything was beyond perfect: service, staff, restaurant, bar, friendliness, professionalism! The wellness area leaves nothing to be desired. Excellent value for money.
The only drawback: the lawn is mown carelessly, but with a deafening noise in the afternoon, in a flash. Absolutely not.
In the age of battery power, this really doesn't have to happen. It can be done more quietly and with more care. Don't throw the loungers into the flowerbeds. See picture. The complex is exceptionally clean and well-maintained.
Lots of attention to detail and harmonious colors. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to drive to the Quellenhof in Lazise. But we'll make up for it on our next visit to Garda. A big compliment goes to the friendly staff and the cleanliness. Despite the foul weather, it was a successful, perfect stay.

The quality and variety of the spa and wellness offerings are particularly noteworthy; they truly leave nothing to be desired.
The only minor drawback: The complex is very large and therefore a bit confusing at first. However, with a little getting used to it, you'll find your way around easily.
Overall, a highly recommended hotel for anyone seeking relaxation, enjoyment, and a high-quality ambiance.
It should also be noted that there is no three-quarter board option. This is rather unusual for a wellness hotel in South Tyrol in this price range.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Quellenhof. The breakfast and dinner, in particular, were a true delight. The grounds are very spacious. You almost need to plan a day to get your bearings. It was our first time at the Quellenhof, a group of five (mom, dad, two children, and grandma).
Our grandma had a great room. Our room was generally fine, but very dark, as it barely got any natural light from the outside staircase. Presumably, that's where the staff area is located. We also had a strong cigarette smell in the room, and it was extremely thin.
The room layout was very nice, but there were a few details that weren't quite right for a hotel of this class: The blinds to the children's sleeping area and the bathroom fixtures were dusty, and the glass shower door could have been cleaner.
The food and the wellness area are absolutely top-notch! However, on the first evening, we were unlucky and sat right at the back near the children's buffet. It was quite chilly there and unfortunately not as cozy as the rest of the restaurant. After asking, we were able to change seats the next day after breakfast without any problems – which was great.
The options for children are absolutely amazing and we were really impressed – we haven't experienced anything like it in other hotels. A huge compliment! However, a children's area without a drinking fountain or the option to refill bottles isn't ideal. This urgently needs improvement, at least with cups or a simple water station so that children have access to water at all times.
At checkout, we received a complimentary gift of bath salts, which we thought was very nice. However, perhaps it would be even more practical for travelers to provide a small water bottle for the journey home.
All in all, a great hotel with a few suggestions for improvement. Our children would love to go back immediately! We would also like to particularly highlight the varied program at the kids' club – simply fantastic!

I stayed at the Quellenhof in Val Passiria for five days this August, a solo vacation. I must say that everything exceeded my wildest expectations. The location is excellent in the valley, near the bike path, with beautiful trails accessible directly from the hotel. The atmosphere is refined and refined, and with a program available, you can enjoy something different every day. The adults-only spa areas allow you to regenerate and treat yourself, with plenty of opportunities for aufguss, peelings, and more. Breakfast and dinner are fantastic: a special mention goes to Davide's attentive and kind service. I will definitely be back and will recommend you to everyone!

The wellness and relaxation area is enchanting, huge, and well-divided into adult and children's zones. Those who want to relax will find it a perfect place. The relaxation loungers are a must-try; they're truly wonderful. The water temperature is approximately 31 degrees Celsius, and the various pools offer a variety of hydromassage options. Excellent 2 week stay at Quellenhof - highlights for us were:
- very extensive sports facilities - we only used a small proportion but the bike hire, pickleball and tennis courts, climbing wall, gym and pools were great - we also joined a couple of the organised hikes which allowed us to explore the mountains without getting lost!
- fantastic food with a good level of variety during the week - juice bar at breakfast was a favourite - everything was very tasty and beautifully presented
- very friendly service from all the staff - couldn’t have been more helpful to us
Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable place for vacation. Kids gave the hotel 10 out of 10.

We just left the resort after five wonderful days of pure respect for our guests, comfort, relaxation, luxury, good food, good wine, and with our minds in full "no-stress" mode.
We discovered the Quellenhof by chance while talking to friends, and we'll definitely return. Our two-year-old daughter enjoyed the children's pools, slides, kids' club, and the excellent vegetable purees prepared by the chef.
We had a massage a day, a bit of Vital Spa for adults, some time together in the Family Area, excellent restaurant service thanks to our Benny who pampered us, excellent check-in, excellent room cleaning, and the ever-present Dorfer family/owners, with whom it was a pleasure to chat, no one excluded.
We, three Apulians in the mountains, believe it was one of the best holidays we'll ever have, and we'll definitely repeat it. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
I would probably just look at the hair salon ️ a bit swollen for me THANK YOU QUELLENHOF !!

Quellenhof Resort is absolutely amazing for families with kids. The pools, slides, and kids’ play areas kept the children busy all day, while adults enjoyed the spa and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were kind, the food was excellent, and the location in the mountains is stunning. Everything is designed with families in mind — we can’t wait to come back!

If I could give this resort 100 stars I would! What an absolutely amazing place - this is truly a sanctuary.
The options for activities are endless, there is everything you need here you can probably stay for months and never get bored. We were a couple travelling so it was very relaxing, lots of pools, stunning views, fresh food drinks and just total serenity.
The spa facilities are super clean and everyone is respectful. This place however is a real maze to get through but if you follow the signs you will be fine.
The horse riding was so much fun - Anya was such a wonderful lady and took great care of me as I have not ridden in a few years.
Breakfast was amazing and you get a table reserved for you for your entire stay which is nice. Dinner was absolutely amazing - you do need to ask them when to bring your courses as we were a bit confused with the process, but they are very attentive and go at your pace which we enjoyed.
The sea lodge is fabulous - we booked an 8 course candle lit dinner and this food was the best we have ever had! The wine pairing was great aswell.
We do feel speaking German would have helped us understand a few things more (as we both speak English as our main language), but everyone was so kind and helpful - you just need to ask! Also you can always learn some basic words in German to help you understand things better.
Our room was in guest house P - super lovely and cosy! The ammenities were a great touch and had everything we needed. Bed was super comfortable and the whole hotel smelled so nice.
Anyone who stays here, this place has EVERYTHING you need. Absolutely will be returning again! We love the Swiss German/french/italian - everyone was so nice and accomodating. Thank you for having us.

Nice hotel and all, but the wait times for the elevator at Gasthaus P are unacceptable. You wait five minutes for the elevator to arrive, only to end up sharing it with six other people. Unfortunately, the stairs aren't a good option either, since the room is on the sixth floor...

A hotel village in the Passeier Valley, some of which are over seven stories high, with a club atmosphere. Seeing and being seen isn't just important to the owners; they also want to constantly offer something special and stay in the conversation. Unfortunately, this often results in a lack of hospitality and warmth.

This summer is our sixth visit to the Quellenhof. We've really enjoyed it so far.
This year, however, we have the impression that the quality is no longer quite right for a hotel of this category.
On the first evening, we went to dinner around 7:30 p.m. After no one appeared at the reception for a while, we asked a passing waiter to show us to our table.
We didn't receive a voucher for the
welcome drink this year.
Unfortunately, the service staff at the breakfast buffet aren't always very attentive; you can easily sit at your table for 15 minutes before being asked for coffee.
One evening, the wrong dishes were brought to our table. But we didn't complain, because we generally enjoy all the dishes. Big praise to the kitchen!!! Fortunately, the quality is still good here!
The reception on the first day was also rather reserved, along the lines of 'you get all the information by email.'
When we played tennis shortly after it had rained, a receptionist rudely informed us that this was not permitted. Next time, we expect a more polite tone.
We notice that new holiday options are constantly being created throughout the hotel grounds, which doesn't necessarily contribute to a positive overall impression.
On our next visit, we would like to see a bit more quality, less quantity.

The kids area is the complete opposite of the adult areas, two worlds, the kids area is very dated, it's 3.5 stars and the adult area is 5 stars, they should decide whether it's adults only or a kids hotel, I also think that they could at least put a drinking fountain for the children so that they can get something to drink while they play without having to pay €4 for it, but otherwise everything is top-notch, cleanliness and service is great

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!
The food was very good and plentiful! The staff were all very friendly and helpful! The room was very clean and comfortable! The complex is very large! There's plenty for the kids to do! However, you'll also be walking quite a bit throughout the day! Unfortunately, this takes away from the family atmosphere! And with so many guests, the buffet can sometimes get quite crowded! But that's the same at other hotels!

The hotel is fantastic, the room is perfect—not too big or too small—just right. All the staff are very friendly, especially the food. The location of the Quellenhof in South Tyrol is also fantastic. We spent half a day at the Quellenhof Day Spa and had a very positive overall impression – with a few points to note:
Highlights
Sauna Area
The selection of saunas is impressive: a classic Finnish sauna, gentle steam saunas, and a panoramic view sauna. Each setting is lovingly designed and perfect for deep breathing.
Six-Course Menu
The included 6-course menu was a culinary experience. The dishes were prepared to a very high standard and attractively presented. The service was attentive, explained everything in a friendly manner, and ensured everything ran smoothly.
Generous Buffet Station
The buffet selection during the menu was also pleasing – bread, salads, antipasti, and regional snacks were available in a wide variety and were regularly refilled. This gave the menu a nice, relaxed feel.
Service & Staff
The staff were consistently friendly and professional. Tables were set promptly, towels and bathrobes were provided, and inquiries were always answered helpfully.
Notes & Minor Restrictions
Many children and dogs in the spa area
Since the Quellenhof is a family-friendly hotel, you'll often encounter children and dog owners during the day spa. This is great for families, but those seeking absolute peace and quiet and an adults-only atmosphere should keep this in mind. The children were mostly reserved, but it's simply livelier than in an adult retreat.
Conclusion & Recommendation
If you're looking for half a day of relaxation, culinary delights, and warm service, the Quellenhof Day Spa is the place for you. The saunas, the 6-course menu, and the buffet package are truly high-quality. Only those expecting maximum peace and quiet in an adult-style setting might be surprised by the presence of children and dogs.
Recommendation: Perfect for relaxed couples or wellness enthusiasts who appreciate a family atmosphere. Perhaps not the first choice for absolute peace and quiet purists.

This was our third time at the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Passeier – again in April with our two children (5 and 8 years old) – and it was once again an absolutely first-class experience. From arrival to departure, we felt completely at home and well looked after.
As graduates of the EHL Hospitality Business School and with professional experience in the international top hotel industry, we know how challenging it is to consistently offer such a high level of service, cuisine, and hospitality in such a large resort – the Quellenhof team masters this with impressive professionalism and genuine warmth.
Whether for families, those seeking relaxation, or gourmets: the offerings are diverse, well-thought-out, and of outstanding quality. No wonder we've already booked again for next year. Many thanks to the Dorfer family and the entire team – we're already looking forward to our next time!

We spent 4 days at this spectacular resort. We toured the 20 best 5-star hotels in South Tyrol and I have to say it ranks in the top 3 for: value for money, service, food, entertainment, incredible themed aufguss, wine list, variety of saunas, pools of all kinds, tennis courts, soccer fields, paddle courts, and spectacular location. A Perfect Family Escape – Exceeding All Expectations!
We just returned from our stay at the Quellenhof, and it exceeded every expectation we had for a family resort. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm hospitality and beautiful setting.
There was truly something for everyone—endless activities for the kids, from water slides to adventure zones, and plenty of space for them to run, play, and explore. The girls in the kids’ club did a fantastic job engaging the children with fun crafts, creative activities, and well-organized programs. Our kids absolutely loved it and looked forward to going every day.
Meanwhile, the adults were able to unwind and recharge thanks to the incredible spa, peaceful surroundings, and excellent service. The food was also a standout—every meal felt thoughtfully prepared, with options that pleased both kids and adults alike.
We all left feeling refreshed, happy, and already talking about when we can come back. Quellenhof strikes that rare balance of luxury and fun for all ages—absolutely recommend it for families!

As a family, we were extremely fortunate to be able to spend a few unforgettable days here. The vacation began in a relaxed manner, even with the uncomplicated check-in. The numerous activities on site – especially for children – are simply fantastic. Boredom? Not a problem here.

A truly luxurious experience – from the first moment you arrive until your departure!
The Quellenhof See-Lodge is in a class of its own. From the moment you check in, you're greeted by wonderfully attentive yet pleasantly relaxed staff – professional, warm, and simply cool.
The food? Fabulous! Each course is a small work of art, a delight both in taste and appearance at the highest level. Culinary arts truly come alive here.
The rooms are absolutely world-class: modern, stylishly furnished, spotlessly clean, and with a level of comfort that leaves little to be desired. You immediately feel at home here.
A real highlight is the sauna area – spacious, elegant, and incredibly relaxing. The event infusions are particularly noteworthy – perfectly staged and executed with great attention to detail. A true experience for all the senses!
In short: The Quellenhof is more than just a hotel – it's a place to relax, unwind, and enjoy. Anyone who has stayed here is guaranteed to return.

THE dream hotel in South Tyrol!!
I've stayed in many hotels in my life – but this one surpasses them all. In my personal opinion, there's no better hotel in Europe.
The absolute highlight was the six-course dinner: each course a work of art – perfectly balanced in flavor, creatively composed, and served at a Michelin-star level. It doesn't get any better than this. Breakfast was also a delight – from the selection and quality to the loving presentation. In fact, every meal, at any time of day, was a culinary experience. Whether it was afternoon tea or a light snack – everything was just right.
The spa area also deserves special praise: spacious, tastefully designed, and equipped with everything body and mind need to relax. The various saunas, the relaxation area, and the thoughtful details create an atmosphere where you can instantly unwind.
Add to that the excellent service, the stylish ambiance, and the warmth of the entire team. If you can't relax and enjoy yourself here, nothing will.
... A hotel that sets standards – and which I wholeheartedly recommend.

Expectations and reality are far apart.
In short - positive:
• Good cuisine with few shortcomings
• Sauna facilities and event sauna
• Very friendly staff
In short - negative:
• Far too long walking distances between many areas (even from the table to the buffet)
• Very confusing signage in the endless corridors
• Sound system in the bar and restaurant is absolutely terrible and unworthy of a 5-star hotel
• Outdoor pond in the sauna area full of algae even in spring
• Unacceptable value for money
Great lobby, very modern, well-organized, many contact points (reception)
Personal assistance with luggage transport is offered. Those who transport their own luggage with a trolley are sometimes sent via elevators that end in corridors with ramps that are far too steep – quickly, half the luggage ends up on the floor instead of on the trolley.
Rooms in Guesthouse F are very large, modern, and leave nothing to be desired.
Restaurant:
• Very spacious layout
• Excellent buffet selection
• The Asian specialties from the show kitchen were a complete disappointment. The food was bland and uninspiring, sitting on warming trays – there was no sign of Asian cuisine with stir-fries (especially vegetables). We didn't see a "show kitchen" at all, and we weren't late!
• Music was playing in the restaurant areas both morning and evening – always disco techno, and usually too loud. Luckily, the staff in our private area could adjust the volume, so we were spared this disturbance. Such a nuisance is truly unacceptable in a 5-star hotel.
• Although a dress code is explicitly stated, hardly any guests adhere to attire appropriate for a 5-star hotel – anyone who actually arrives in a jacket or suit with a tie stands out – the same applies to the ladies, of course.
• There are specialty restaurants, but they were closed during our stay. Although a 5-6 course meal is already included in the room price, these restaurants charge extra for over €100 per person. Such madness really shouldn't be supported – it completely loses touch with reality.
Live music:
On April 27th, there was live music with the Hallers at the Quellenhof bar. There were several explicit invitations to dance, but the band couldn't play any dance music – almost everything was in country style… and they couldn't keep a beat. As active dancers, we were hoping for a chance to dance, but the space was too small and the music hardly danceable. We even received applause and calls for an encore during a Viennese waltz, but… if dancing simply isn't possible, it's pointless.
On April 28th… There was live music with Chris Krause at the bar of the new See Lodge – great music, but unbearably loud; dancing and normal conversation were impossible.
We couldn't subject ourselves to another evening of live music, as this "music" was just pure fun and partying and had absolutely nothing to do with our expectations. It was après-ski horror, the kind we only occasionally see on TV before changing the channel.
Sports facilities:
A lot is done for tennis players and horse riding enthusiasts – tennis is even played until midnight, and guests in rooms facing the tennis courts aren't allowed to sleep because of the noise.
Sauna facilities:
The selection is very diverse and absolutely top-notch. The magnificent exception is the lakeside event sauna – we've never experienced anything like it before. Three times a day, the event sauna offers infusions with ceremonies/dramatized stories, which are the absolute highlight of the entire hotel complex.
...
Conclusion:
The price-performance ratio is completely off. This is mass-market service at the highest price level.
The expectations we have in such a hotel and at these prices are absolutely not met.
We will not be planning a second visit – the numerous apologies from the hotel management afterward are of no use.

An unforgettable family vacation at the Quellenhof Luxury Resort in St. Martin
As a family, we spent a wonderful time at the Quellenhof in St. Martin – a place where health, relaxation, enjoyment, and hospitality come together at the highest level. From the very first minute, we felt welcome and exceptionally well cared for.
Our beautiful suite was 85 square meters – simply a dream. It was cleaned perfectly every day, and any requests were handled promptly and without hesitation.
The food is simply fantastic – varied, creative, and of a high culinary standard. We were particularly impressed by how attentively the entire team catered to our wishes and those of the children. Every request was fulfilled immediately and with a smile – that's true service!
The surroundings are a dream: nestled in the beautiful South Tyrolean countryside with magnificent mountain views, ideal for hiking, walks, or simply relaxing. Or for some action with quads and buggies.
The Quellenhof offers perfect conditions for guests of all ages: While the children could let loose playing tennis, soccer, and enjoying the Family Aqua World, we adults had time for peace and relaxation in the spa, where we received top-quality treatments. There's also a virtually unlimited program for sports enthusiasts.
Everything is lovingly designed, impeccably maintained, and thoughtfully planned. The Dorfer family and their team work tirelessly and passionately to make the Quellenhof what it is. A truly recommendable luxury resort.
We will definitely be back – with many wonderful memories and already looking forward to our next visit!

What South Tyrol is among holiday regions, the Quellenhof is in South Tyrol: unique and right at the forefront! For a long time, we have appreciated the tasteful ambiance, the warm service, and the wide range of activities that make the days fly by. After a sumptuous breakfast, playing golf on the hotel's own course, with the sun on our faces and a view of the surrounding hills, then romping through the various pools, playing a game of chess with a cigar in the smoking lounge after a first-class dinner, and then lingering a while at the bar make the day unforgettable. We play tennis, cycle to Merano, get a massage in the spa, and work out in the gym. In between, we relax in our bathrobes on one of the many loungers. Never a dull moment! What could be improved: The table manners and the behavior of some guests.

We had a wonderful stay. All the staff were very friendly. Petra's service was outstanding. The entire resort was spotlessly clean. I can also highly recommend Gerlinde's spa treatments and advice. We've already booked again and are really looking forward to it.
Thank you again for the lovely time we had with you.

Quellenhof South Tyrol in Spring – An Unforgettable Stay
Spring at the Quellenhof South Tyrol is a true paradise for those seeking relaxation and nature lovers. In our spacious 90-square-meter Rose Suite, furnished with great attention to detail, we immediately felt a sense of well-being. A Jacuzzi is also located on the balcony.
The harmonious decor throughout the hotel, the harmoniously coordinated colors, and the fine materials create a relaxing environment. Here, you can unwind and leave the stresses of everyday life behind.
A highlight of our stay was the culinary experience in the hotel restaurant. The delicious food, prepared with fresh, regional ingredients, delighted us. Every bite was a delight, and we couldn't resist sampling the exquisite wine selection.
After a day of relaxation in the sauna, which amazed us with its impressive show infusions, we were ready to explore the surrounding area. The quad bike tour I took with my daughter was particularly enjoyable. Together, we enjoyed the breathtaking scenery and created unforgettable memories.
While my husband and I went on a bike ride to Merano, our daughter had the opportunity to play at the hotel and make new friends. It was a perfect combination of activity and relaxation for the whole family.
The Quellenhof South Tyrol truly offers something for everyone—whether it's adventure, relaxation, or culinary delights. A little piece of heaven that we won't soon forget.

A wonderful holiday at the Quellenhof. We received a warm welcome. We had a very nice, clean, and modern room. The wellness area is huge and leaves nothing to be desired. There are numerous heated pools. The entire hotel is filled with a wonderful aroma. The food is appealing and mostly delicious. The service staff in the restaurant are super friendly—everyone was very pleasant. The only thing that bothered us was the fact that dogs were allowed in the dining room. They were seated separately, but in my opinion, dogs don't belong there. The hotel handled this criticism very well. We will definitely be back.

At first there were small difficulties.
The room we booked was not ready for use, so we were allowed to move to another, better one for two days. There were problems with the room cards.
This can happen and is not tragic. The staff responded very professionally at all times and offered us the better room for the entire stay.
This is not a given and is very generous. We were impressed by this gesture. It is only when you deal with problems that you see the true quality.
It was a very relaxing week with great weather, relaxation and good food. Thank you.

A very beautiful, but very large complex. The food was very good, as was the service. We booked one of the "basic" rooms. Unfortunately, it was right above the kitchen. When the window was open, the kitchen exhaust came into the room; a better room would have avoided this. Dogs are allowed in the hotel and also in the dining room, which is probably why the hotel is very popular with dog lovers. And it was more of a nuisance. The range of children's activities, sports, etc. is extensive. Prices for extras are sometimes high, but probably appropriate for the clientele. However, we still consider a 3-dl children's syrup with still water for €4 questionable in a child-friendly hotel, despite its 5 stars. All in all, a nice week. At checkout, you could ask if everything was okay, then you could give feedback in person.
Generally, the hotel is recommended if you prefer a larger room, want to use the facilities, and don't mind dogs.

We felt completely at home at the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Passeier and would love to come back! There is an incredible amount on offer, especially for children - I have never seen such a wide range of activities in any other hotel. The food is absolutely fantastic, everything is very fine and high quality. The staff is friendly, which makes the stay even more pleasant. Overall, a perfect combination of relaxation, enjoyment and entertainment. Clear recommendation!

We stayed there for one night. The room was beautiful, clean, and tidy. Fresh water was available and there was a kettle for tea or herbal teas. The minibar was well-stocked and functional. The spa was simply fantastic. Despite the hotel's size and the resulting high number of guests, there was always enough space and room to enjoy all the amenities. The sauna instructors were truly skilled and knowledgeable. A 7-course gourmet dinner and a buffet were always available. The breakfast was breathtaking. Superb and with excellent fresh ingredients.

The complex is very well-maintained and beautiful, and the spa area leaves nothing to be desired.
I do have a few complaints, though. The signage is a complete disaster. Guests ask us where to go every day, and even we had trouble getting to our destination directly.
The concept of mass and class doesn't quite work in my opinion.
We're staying true to our motto: small but perfectly formed!

It was meant to be an experience, based on the comments of friends. The hotel is large, clean, with friendly staff, a lovely spa, and good dinners (we expected better quality, considering the price), but...it's not worth the expense. In our opinion, there are smaller, less expensive, and overall higher-quality hotels in South Tyrol.

Simply perfect!
My husband and I have been taking wellness vacations in various hotels and resorts in and around Austria for 15 years. Our focus is primarily on the food and the wellness area.
This resort exceeded all our expectations and eclipsed all previous wellness vacations.
From start to finish, our stay was simply perfect. We received an extremely friendly welcome upon arrival. Our car was parked, and our luggage was brought to our room. The overall impression of the hotel is simply harmonious.
The loving decoration and tasteful furnishings are simply impressive.
The rooms are clean and spacious, with high-quality interiors. The restaurant, despite the number of guests, exudes a wonderfully relaxing and elegant ambiance. The staff is friendly, incredibly efficient, and competent. The buffet and the food selection are simply amazing!
But what surpassed everything else was the wellness area. The offerings are simply fantastic. Many different pools, saunas, steam baths, relaxation rooms (each one more beautiful than the last), the entire indoor and outdoor area was well-maintained, tastefully and impressively designed. The themed infusions were particularly impressive. What an amazing experience! The sauna masters outdid themselves and delivered shows we've never experienced anywhere else. The creative and meticulously planned shows were simply fantastic. (Skyfall, Pirates of the Caribbean, Vikings, etc.) This wasn't a simple infusion show; it was an event. The "waving" of the towel was circus-worthy and aesthetically choreographed. Even outside the sauna, the entire team was incredibly dedicated and on the ball. Everything was constantly being put in order. Never before had you seen so many guests using the areas. Furthermore, all the areas were so spacious, ensuring a constant sense of calm.
Furthermore, guests are constantly receiving little touches. Be it fresh fruit or juice after the infusion, snacks with your drink, or some dark chocolate with your red wine, you simply feel valued and pampered as a guest.
We 100% recommend this resort and will definitely be back!

Still fully recovered from our 5-day (4-night) stay last week, we can wholeheartedly recommend the Quellenhof.
My family (two children, ages 7 and 5) and I had an unforgettable time. All expectations were exceeded. From the food to the wellness and children's facilities and the rooms, everything was of a very high standard and simply wonderful.

My stay at the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Passeier was simply perfect! From arrival to departure, I was pampered and felt completely at home.
The food was of the highest quality – a blend of regional specialties and international gourmet cuisine. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive: a huge selection of fresh, high-quality products that left nothing to be desired. Dinner was also a real highlight, with excellent service and first-class wines.
The wellness area is simply fantastic! A huge sauna complex, beautiful pools (including an infinity pool with mountain views), and an extensive range of massages and treatments – pure relaxation at the highest level. I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail and the pleasant atmosphere.
The rooms are also top-notch: modern, stylish, and equipped with every comfort. My room had a stunning view of the mountains – simply wonderful to wake up in the morning and enjoy this view!
The service was consistently professional and warm. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and attended to our every need at all times.
Conclusion: If you're looking for a luxurious, relaxing holiday, you'll definitely find it at the Quellenhof. I'll definitely be back!

Our stay at the Quellenhof Luxury Resort was simply fantastic! The hotel offers everything you could wish for for a relaxing yet varied holiday.
The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, especially our waiter, Zoltan, who impressed us with his excellent service. The food was consistently excellent – a wide selection of high-quality dishes that were a highlight both in terms of taste and appearance. Your seat will remain the same for your entire stay.
The wellness area is a true paradise: There are numerous different saunas and beautiful baths that are perfect for relaxation. There are also plenty of activities for children, whether in the pool area or with the numerous leisure activities. Another plus: dogs are also welcome, which makes the stay especially pleasant for pet owners.
The parking facilities are also well organized, so you don't have to worry about your vehicle.
Overall, a first-class resort that impresses in every respect – we will definitely be back!

Breakfast at the hotel was a truly wonderful experience! We received a warm and professional welcome at reception, which made a fantastic first impression. The owner deserves special mention for her exceptionally friendly and attentive service – we felt truly well taken care of.
The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing: there was a huge selection of bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, and much more. A particular highlight was the refrigerated room with a variety of juices, as well as an area where you could make your own juices with fresh fruit and vegetables. It was not only delicious but also incredibly refreshing.
The hotel also caters perfectly to guests with allergies, offering a selection of lactose-free and gluten-free products. In addition, you can have fresh egg dishes like fried eggs, scrambled eggs, and omelets prepared to order at the counter. Another highlight was the wide variety of milk and cheeses. Those still craving something fresh could help themselves to fresh fruit, cornflakes, salmon rolls, and many other treats.
We also appreciated the use of regional products, which made breakfast an authentic experience. To top it all off, we enjoyed a glass of sparkling wine, adding a special touch.
Not to be forgotten was the friendly service in the traditional farmhouse-style dining room, where we were looked after at our table. The staff's warm hospitality contributed significantly to our feeling completely at ease.
The ambiance of the hotel and the breakfast room was also very appealing and contributed to a pleasant morning. To get a feel for the atmosphere, take a look at the pictures – they perfectly capture the wonderful experience.
Overall, it was an excellent start to the day, and we highly recommend this hotel for a breakfast highlight!

I booked a suite and was very satisfied. The cleaning ladies were friendly and so were the employees. There was something on stage almost every evening and I was lucky because Andrich and Kimmich were in the hotel. There are lots of opportunities for children to play and a kids club, a swimming pool and for the parents who wanted peace and quiet, or rather for the adults who wanted peace and quiet, there was an extra pool and spa and a gym. If you have read this far, thank you for your attention. The end

A beautiful, large hotel with tons of play options for children and a huge spa. A bit too big for our taste, with too many people. The service and food quality also suffer, probably due to the sheer number of people. Too expensive and not exclusive enough for us. Still, not a bad hotel, which is why it gets 4 stars, but not for us.

I did a spa day (9am-7pm) with my wife and we had a really good time, we didn't want the time to end.
immense and beautiful spa with many different areas: for everyone, for the little ones and for nudists (very respectful people and this struck me a lot)
Very clean, luxurious and very stylish spa, expensive but worth every penny.
Very friendly staff and very nice private group events in the sauna upon reservation.
We also had lunch inside the Bistro and ate very well, the only drawback being the cost of water (€6 a bottle)
If the prices were more accessible, next time I would definitely take a room inside the resort... I left my heart and eyes there! TOP

A paradise for families
Our stay at the Quellenhof in Merano was an absolute dream and exceeded all our expectations! As a family with two children, we felt completely pampered and well looked after from the very beginning.
Family-friendliness at the highest level
The Quellenhof managed to relax us parents while simultaneously giving our children an unforgettable time. The kids were thrilled with the numerous offerings: from the fantastic water park with slides to the lovingly designed playground and the exciting activities in the kids' club.
Luxury and relaxation for parents
The variety of saunas, pools, and relaxation areas is simply breathtaking. We would particularly like to highlight the infinity pool on the roof terrace – a place of pure relaxation with breathtaking views of the South Tyrolean mountains.
Culinary delights that leave nothing to be desired
The food was another highlight of our stay. The breakfast buffet offered everything your heart could desire, from fresh regional produce to international specialties. In the evening, the kitchen team spoiled us with exquisite menus perfectly tailored to both adults and children. We especially appreciated that even the little ones had a wide selection of child-friendly dishes.
Perfect location and beautiful surroundings
The Quellenhof is idyllically nestled in nature, making it the ideal starting point for excursions. Whether walks, hikes, or a visit to the charming town of Merano – there is endless opportunity to discover. But to be honest, we often found it difficult to even leave the Quellenhof because there is so much to experience!
Conclusion
The Quellenhof in Merano is a true paradise for families. Here, luxury and relaxation at the highest level are combined with unparalleled child-friendliness. Our children are still talking about the wonderful experiences, and we parents were finally able to truly relax. We have already booked twice again for 2025. We can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!

A wonderful hotel in a beautiful location! Fantastic food and very friendly service. Everyone is attentive and friendly. Mrs. Dorfer is the heart of this hotel. She is very warm-hearted and makes you feel valued as a guest. Thank you for everything.
Only the spa area is not worthy of a luxury resort. The treatments are unloving, minimal, and unprofessional. You're just rushed off. I had two treatments, and both times it was very disappointing. What a shame.

We spent a wonderful two-week vacation at the Quellenhof in South Tyrol in November/December and, as every year, were thrilled! Particularly noteworthy is the atmospheric Christmas ambiance, which transformed the resort into a festive oasis. The tasteful decorations and loving details create an incomparable atmosphere.
The service is, as usual, of the highest standard. Whether in the restaurant or at the bars, the staff are always attentive, friendly, and competent. The quality of the food and drinks was outstanding, from the variety at the breakfast buffet to the exquisite evening menus.
A highlight for us was the expanded spa area, especially the new bio sauna. The spacious design, modern amenities, and pleasant tranquility exceeded our expectations. Here, you could relax wonderfully and completely leave everyday life behind.
As long-time guests of the Quellenhof, we are continually impressed by how they manage to maintain tried-and-tested features while simultaneously introducing innovative innovations. We are already looking forward to our next stay next year. Many thanks to the entire team for this unforgettable time!

Our stay at the Hotel Quellenhof Merano was an absolute dream from start to finish. The highlight was undoubtedly the generous upgrade to a breathtaking chalet room, which made our vacation a first-class experience.
Room:
The chalet room was the epitome of luxury and comfort. Designed with great attention to detail, it not only offered us exceptional space but also a private oasis of well-being. The combination of fine materials, warm wood tones, and modern design was simply perfect. The private outdoor area with its own whirlpool was particularly impressive – a true oasis of peace and relaxation!
Service:
The upgrade alone was an incredibly generous service. The entire team pampered us with friendliness and attention throughout our entire stay. Every wish was promptly fulfilled, and the warm atmosphere made the days unforgettable. A special thank you goes to Petra from the Panorama Restaurant, who particularly impressed us with her warmth.
Culinary:
The culinary highlights at the Quellenhof were of the highest caliber. Breakfast in the panoramic restaurant was a special experience – for my partner and me, as well as for our little daughter. The variety, freshness, and quality of the food were impressive, and the beautiful view was the icing on the cake.
Wellness & Leisure:
The exclusive amenities of the chalet, with its private sauna, pool, and jacuzzi, were an absolute highlight. This private wellness oasis was amazing! The general wellness area also left nothing to be desired. It was always spotlessly clean and, with its diverse offerings, invited guests to relax.
Location:
The tranquil and idyllic location of the Quellenhof is simply unbeatable. Nestled in the beautiful natural surroundings of South Tyrol, it felt like a world apart – perfect for leaving everyday life behind. At the same time, the proximity to Merano is ideal for excursions and explorations.
Conclusion:
The upgrade to the chalet room made our stay a very special experience. It wasn't just a hotel stay, but a vacation full of highlights and memories that we will carry with us for a long time.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the Dorfer family for their generosity and loving management of this exceptional hotel. Their hospitality and high standards of quality and service are evident everywhere. A huge thank you to the entire team at the Hotel Quellenhof Meran – we will definitely be back!

Superb staff, gourmet cuisine, and a wide range of services for families, couples, and groups. Very nice 5 star wellness hotel.
As regular guests, we always enjoy coming here.
A very small drawback is that there are no sockets in the rooms and you have to unplug the light in bed to charge your cell phone.
For a 5 resort it would be nice if there were more charging options in the room.
But that's whining at a high level. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about.
Very friendly staff, the finest culinary experiences and a top wellness offer, plus a top interior.
We have been guests at the Alpenschlössel for years, this resort is short and sweet, small but nice.
Less busy than in the main resort Quellenhof, the wellness area is of course smaller, but just right for us.
You can hike or cycle to your heart's content. It is about 10 km to Meran on a beautifully developed cycle path.
There is also a free shuttle service to the main building or you can walk the 200 meters. The journey over the Jaufenpass is always an experience.
Hopefully we will have many more visits to come.

At the Quellenhof, you feel welcome from the very first moment. Despite the spacious ambiance and elegant furnishings, the resort manages to offer a warm, homey atmosphere. Here, luxury is not conveyed through distance, but through attentiveness and genuine friendliness. It's a place where you don't feel like a guest, but rather like a part of the whole, without sacrificing the highest level of comfort.
Not only are the rooms a true highlight, but the entire resort impresses with its loving design. The rooms are elegantly furnished, with wonderfully comfortable beds. The public areas are equally impressive: The interiors are spacious and tastefully decorated. The wellness area is a paradise for those seeking relaxation, with a spectacular glass pool, a variety of saunas, and lovingly designed relaxation areas. Outside, a manicured garden and natural pond with small turtles invite you to linger.
Everything seems well thought out and perfected down to the last detail. Even the fragrance in the hotel is designed to induce instant relaxation – an extraordinary detail that you rarely notice so consciously.
A special highlight is the evening menu, which is eagerly anticipated every day. The exceptional 5-course menus are a true culinary delight – indescribably delicious and so varied that there is something for every taste. Here, every dish becomes a small work of art, pampering not only the stomach but also the senses. Dinner at the Quellenhof is not just a meal, but an experience that perfectly rounds off the day.
In the evening, the hotel bar beckons with a varied program – whether it's a performance by a live band or the elegant sounds of a pianist. There's something for every taste. The selection of fine wines is impressive, and here, too, the staff shines with genuine warmth and competence.
It is remarkable how management has clearly created a working environment that motivates employees and demonstrates their commitment. Everyone on the team contributes to making the stay unforgettable with their smiles and helpfulness.
``` Conclusion
The Quellenhof luxury resort is the epitome of perfection – a place where wishes are not only fulfilled, but exceeded. Whether through the (for me personally) breathtaking mountain scenery, the relaxation options, excellent cuisine, or the incomparably attentive service: this resort sets standards. I have never found a place where I could relax so deeply and at the same time feel so at home. For me, there is no better place!
The Quellenhof in the Passeier Valley is highly recommended. I've been there several times and enjoy returning every year.
Quellenhof Luxury Resort Passeier is truly exceptional – here, the special is made even more special! Even compared to other 5-star resorts, the Quellenhof stands out. The spa is an absolute must, and the themed infusions are spectacular – a truly unique experience. The offerings are also vast for families with children, so everyone gets their money's worth.
Dinner is a true highlight: every meal is a delight, with service and quality of the highest caliber. The staff anticipates your every need, and the attentiveness of the chef, who took the time to briefly speak with our daughter, was particularly touching. Here, you feel truly welcome and at home – a place we will gladly return to again and again!
Our family vacation at the Quellenhof was once again an incredibly beautiful and especially relaxing getaway. The children are thrilled with the hotel's fantastic offerings and facilities.
The wellness area for my wife and me was a dream!
Not to mention the service and the fantastic staff.
A gem just outside Merano. The selection is extensive, perhaps even too extensive, as it feels scattered. We stayed at the Ałłpenschłosseł, and the food and rooms were good but not excellent. The facility is more suited to adults than families, despite the various entertainment options for younger guests.
Definitely recommended, but only after careful consideration of both how you want to approach this type of vacation with young children and the cost of accessing the resort.
Wonderful spa hotel... I've been back for the second time and it continues to amaze me... wonderful saunas, water games, pools, tons of amenities, even a bowling alley... excellent dinner, the cheese buffet was top notch, and the super variety of sweet and savory options at breakfast... we had a Jacuzzi in our room... wonderful... we'll definitely be back...
Our stay at the hotel was fantastic in every respect. The offerings were diverse and perfectly tailored to our needs. The service was outstanding; the staff was always friendly, professional, and responsive to our every need. The hotel's luxurious amenities created a first-class feel-good atmosphere. Particularly impressive were the extensive wellness offerings and spa, which left nothing to be desired—ideal for relaxation and unwinding. The hotel offers something for every age group. From golf to horseback riding, cycling, go-karting, trampoline, soccer, tennis, etc. The children are spread out across several playrooms and activities, so the crowd is well distributed. The food is delicious and the staff very friendly. The only thing that bothered us was the distance from the breakfast buffet. With children, it's like running a half marathon to get something for everyone at the table.
It would also be good if the food at the buffet was better labeled.
The pool areas, saunas, etc., are very clean. I did miss supervision in the family area. If something were to happen there, it would take forever to call someone. We also didn't find any beach towels in that area. And since no one was there, there was no way to ask.
There are permanent staff on site in the sauna area, however.
All in all, it was a very nice vacation, and we highly recommend the hotel.
Super great hotel. Nothing to complain about from check-in to check-out.
Rooms beautifully decorated and very spacious. Clean and beautifully prepared every day. Breakfast was extremely tasty and had a huge selection. I have already visited several hotels in this category, but the Quellenhof surpasses them in every way.
The dinner was also very tasty and there was a great selection. Fuzzy has always served us very well, thank you from us.
We didn't use the daily program, but everyone can find something here. The huge selection of pools, saunas and loungers is also exceptional and you have peace everywhere.
We came home absolutely relaxed and booked our next stay straight away. I could go on writing here forever about how great it was because we had nothing to complain about.
It's been a while since our last stay at the Quellenhof, but it must be said that this is a first-class resort.
From the moment you arrive, you feel in good hands thanks to the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. The quality of the food is truly outstanding – every course is a delight, freshly prepared and lovingly presented. It's the perfect place to leave everyday life behind and simply unwind.
The family-friendliness is particularly noteworthy: There's so much to discover and something for every age group. Whether it's childcare, leisure activities, or simply the beautiful surroundings – boredom is definitely not a factor here.
The Quellenhof also offers everything sports enthusiasts could wish for, with a well-equipped gym, several pools, a golf course, and several tennis courts. Here, you can really work out and then relax in the wellness oasis. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience – we'll definitely be back!
A hotel where everything really fits.
When we arrived after the long drive, we were a bit taken aback by the commotion and commotion at reception.
Upon entering our suite, our initial doubts vanished. A very spacious room with a living area, a large open-plan bathroom, a balcony, and a dressing room awaited us.
Several children's rooms with excellent childcare, a fantastic sports program for working out or relaxing with yoga ️
Swimming pools for adults and children. Several fantastic wellness areas.
Nothing was left to be desired.
We've stayed at the Quellenhof several times and are still thrilled with this hotel! We spent our honeymoon in South Tyrol in September and were once again warmly welcomed by the entire team! The cuisine and service are top-notch! Whether at breakfast or in the evening, you are truly pampered! However, one team deserves special mention! The sauna/fitness team! What they do here is simply amazing... you can enjoy the infusions, classes, etc. to the fullest! A gigantic hotel complex with excellent wellness and leisure facilities and excellent cuisine, but the family atmosphere is somewhat lacking. The on-site golf course seems somewhat neglected, especially the restrooms in the golf house. A particularly negative aspect was that we had to ask three times whether the heating could be turned on when the nighttime temperatures dropped below single digits.
Beautiful place. I visited this resort for a day spa and I can say I was speechless at its beauty. Let's start by saying that the resort is huge, with several facilities, each with a different style, and the basic spa includes several pools, countless saunas, and Turkish baths of all kinds. There are numerous relaxation areas, each one better than the next. It's a bit confusing at first, but then you get your bearings and understand why the pools, Turkish baths, saunas, and relaxation areas are scattered throughout the resort. I recommend this place because you can stay there or just have a day spa.
It's absolutely amazing. That's why I'm writing my review before I leave. I still haven't explored every corner of the resort, but the range of options is enormous. The attention to detail and the opulent decor are incredible. The food is varied, and every course is a surprise. It's also nice that the chef personally visits every table to ensure guests are satisfied. I've never experienced such dedication in a hotel before, and I travel a lot. We'll be back next year, but for longer. The sign for dogs on the room door is also cute. We discovered something new every day and were constantly surprised. The range of excursions and suggestions is so extensive that you couldn't do it all in a week. The hotel guests, along with the staff, are also extremely pleasant. ALL IN ALL, THIS IS BY FAR MY BEST HOLIDAY! Your Günther family from beautiful Altenburg in Thuringia!
A wonderful stay in the South Tyrolean mountains – 5 luxury stars that make a carefree luxury holiday possible.
We once again had the great pleasure of spending a week in the Quellenhof (Passeier Valley) in South Tyrol, and once again it was simply perfect! From the warm welcome to departure, every moment was an experience thanks to the friendly and professional manner of the entire team.
Room:
Our room was spacious, modern and decorated with incredible attention to detail. The balcony offered a great view of the Passeier Valley. Every morning we were able to enjoy the fresh mountain air and start the day with a smile.
Culinary:
The breakfast buffet was a highlight - a large selection of fresh and regional products that left nothing to be desired. Fresh fruits, creamy coffee specialties, sweet and savory. The homemade breads were simply delicious. The show kitchen with the freshly prepared omelettes in every conceivable variety was sensational.
In the evening we were treated to a 6-course gourmet experience at the highest level with sophisticated creations. Every bite was a delight!. The almost unmanageable salad buffet made the start of the evening a real treat. There was also a wine list that left nothing to be desired.
Wellness & Spa:
The many, many heated pools with a view of the mountains, the various saunas and the great relaxation rooms allowed us to relax wonderfully. Wellness de luxe on 10,500 m² - sensational!
Outdoor and indoor action:
Limitless leisure opportunities for our juniors - right in the resort. With a perfectly thought-out and well-organized kids club that leaves nothing to be desired.
Service:
The entire team at the hotel was extremely attentive, warm and always there with a smile. No matter whether there were questions about the menu or small or larger special requests - we always felt well looked after and cared for - thank you very much!
Conclusion:
Our stay at this hotel was (again) an unforgettable experience. The combination of luxurious comfort, first-class service and the breathtaking nature of South Tyrol completely impressed us. We can highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for relaxation, enjoyment and alpine adventure. We'll definitely be back!
Thank you for an unforgettable week!
I've stayed at the Quellenhof several times with friends and family. With friends, wellness is a priority, which is fully met with the numerous saunas, infusions, pools, and courses on offer.
There were many positive aspects: the range of services, the spaciousness of the resort, the variety of activities, the culinary offerings, and the competence and friendliness of the staff—all absolutely top-notch. However, one aspect significantly marred our stay: on two out of five nights, there was loud dance music on the hotel's terrace. Since guesthouse F, where we had booked a suite, is located more or less directly above the terrace, it was impossible to sleep before the end of the music (11:30 p.m.). Opening the terrace door was out of the question. Considering that this is a family hotel, this is completely incomprehensible to me and greatly annoyed us. We declined the well-intentioned offer of a room swap for five people at 11:00 p.m. Another issue is, in my opinion, the somewhat inconvenient layout between the adults-only and family areas. While the extensive and spacious outdoor adults-only areas were very sparsely occupied, the only family bathing area was extremely crowded, so much so that it was sometimes impossible to find a sun lounger. Given that part of the complex is already a completely separate adults-only hotel (the Lake Lodge), I don't understand why so many areas in the other guesthouses are reserved for people over 14.
I was there with the kids and there were so many opportunities for activity. We went quad biking, the driver was very nice, and the action park was especially great for the children. Top-notch food, fresh ingredients, and 5-star technology. Luxurious and very comfortable rooms, especially in the Sea Lodge where we stayed, truly allowed me to escape the exhaustion of the city. So far, one of the best 5-star hotels I've ever experienced. Professional service and an endless selection of saunas, pools, and things to do. I wasn't even able to do 20% of their offers in 5 days.
I just hope I get some offers so I can return. It'll definitely be hard to find a better hotel.
We stayed there as a family and were unfortunately not very satisfied, hence only 3 stars.
The outdoor shower by the glass-enclosed pool was broken; in the trampoline park, one light was hanging by only one rope instead of four. Upon arrival in our room (we had a wellness suite), there were half-empty bottles left in the refrigerator by the previous guests; the beach bag was missing entirely.
Childcare is only available for children aged 2 and up – we then booked the paid babysitting service. However, our son ended up spending his time with the babysitter in the kids' club anyway.
A super nice hotel in a great location in the Passeier Valley. The hotel offers a lot of leisure activities, we took advantage of the running training with Tom, which was great. The wellness area is very nice and even has a pool with turtles. The service staff was consistently friendly, the food was high quality, and the breakfast left nothing to be desired. The only thing I found strange was that we weren't offered a welcome drink on the grounds that we booked through secret escapes. That should definitely be possible given the prices and a hotel in this category.
A perfect hotel all around! We stayed at the Quellenhof for 8 nights with two small children. We've never had such consistently good food in a hotel of this size. The service was perfect and very pleasant. All the staff are very attentive and hospitable, and your every need is met. There's a great program for children (from small to large), and there are also very appealing activities for parents: quad bike tours, rafting, fitness classes, tennis, horseback riding, and beauty treatments. We felt very comfortable throughout our entire stay and will definitely be back! 10/10
This hotel is a true dream! We stayed at this wonderful hotel in May and can only recommend it. The price is on the higher side, but it's absolutely justified for everything it offers!
The entire staff was also extremely friendly! We'll definitely be back.
Over the last few years, we repeatedly visited Quellenhof a few times per year, sometimes for shorter breaks, but it also became our favourite spot for spending New Year's Eve. Set in a beautiful location, there is always something to do for everyone.
The childcare is amazingly well organised and there are activities for children of all ages (we have three, from 4 years during our first visit, to 14 years now). For adults, we enjoy the huge spa area (if you like Saunas - the wellness team there is amazing, and their program is breath-taking) and the spa-facilities.
We have very high standards re. food and wine, and the restaurants and wine-cellar at Quellenhof easily meet our requirements!
Mostly, our family finds the staff amazing. Everyone is very friendly and highly competent, and they really make you feel like part of the family! Every request is fulfilled with a smile on their face, and after a few visits, people start greeting you by name, like an old friend you meet again.
Our stay was extremely pleasant. From the very beginning, we were greeted by friendly and competent staff. The cleanliness of the entire hotel was impressive and demonstrated a high standard. Particularly noteworthy is the quality of the service, which exceeded our expectations. We felt completely at home and will certainly return.
An all-around lovely and relaxing stay, from check-in to check-out.
A very nice hotel, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, there's plenty on offer for children, and the food is high-quality and plentiful, with excellent taste. The wellness offerings are outstanding.
Despite the size of the entire hotel, it never feels overcrowded. You always feel comfortable and well looked after.
We can 100% recommend the Quellenhof.
Thanks to the entire Quellenhof team.
A hotel where you can feel the professionalism and natural, unforced kindness. The staff is always smiling, helpful, and never too much trouble.
The spa is so extensive that even in high season, it's a wonderful experience; perhaps the best saunas in South Tyrol.
The area is nestled in the woods of the beautiful Passiria Valley, just a few kilometers from Scena and Merano, easily accessible on foot or by bike via a lovely cycle path that runs along the Passirio River. Thank you.
We went to the day spa today, it was fantastic . We were given a very friendly welcome by a young gentleman who explained the spa areas to us both on the map and in person on site. The car was parked for us (valet parking for day spa guests!). The spa area is a dream, nothing is left to be desired. We had a very good lunch in the Bistro Atmosphera. All the staff were very friendly! At the end of a very relaxing day, we were asked if everything was to our satisfaction and the car was brought to us in front of the hotel entrance. You couldn't spend a rainy day in South Tyrol more perfectly. And the price for this entire package is very reasonable! Many thanks to the entire team, we will be back!
Once again, a perfect (short) vacation at the Quellenhof!
As a regular guest, I'm happy to renew my review, which is now a few years old.
The Quellenhof continues to strike a balance between "peace & wellness"-oriented, childless guests and families with children seeking "fun, games, and excitement." The "separation" into different "worlds" still works flawlessly.
The Quellenhof is "infamous" among its regular guests for the renovation of individual areas. This goes far beyond the usual "room renovation" of other hotels. Expansions and changes are made to various areas of the hotel every year.
2024 also saw an expansion: the creation of an additional bio sauna and a "Pseirer Ritual Stone Sauna" in the Lake Event Sauna area. In addition, there are two "water barrels" for contrast baths.
The example of the "Pseirer Ritual Stone Sauna" shows that the Quellenhof follows the "maximum principle." This means: they focus on the maximum of what is possible/experienceable/feasible. This stone sauna could also have been equipped with an electric heater. That would be the minimum principle, as it would save on labor (wood must be provided, the heater must be cleaned, the glass pane cleaned, etc.).
However, the special feeling of an open fire would have been lost. Manually firing the sauna with wood creates precisely the most archaic feeling, but also involves additional work (for the host and all his helpers). Speaking of helpers: The sauna team, without exception, does a fantastic job. Every single employee (whether freelance or permanent) does a fantastic job.
The only thing that might be "missing" would be a pool in the new extension instead of the sunbathing area. The lake, the only swimming option in the nudist area, is sometimes a bit too small. Another downside: Due to the fantastic and varied show infusions, the lakeside event sauna is sometimes a bit too small, or it creates a feeling of fullness. Here, each guest has to decide for themselves whether they want to subject themselves to the stress of having to be there beforehand/wait in line for 15 minutes.
For us, as passionate sauna goers, this year's expansion is a much more interesting addition than the rooftop pool on the roof of the F-Resort, which was built in 2023 (?). That one is a bit too Instagrammable for me personally.
What hasn't changed at the Quellenhof over the years, however, is the tremendous hospitality and professionalism of all the service staff. Whether in the restaurant, at the bar, or in the spa/sauna area: you can feel the professionalism and warmth of the staff everywhere. The slogan "Your second home" isn't just a marketing slogan here. Thanks to the staff, you feel a bit at home.
Of course, you notice at one point or another that the issue of a "skilled labor shortage" is not unknown in South Tyrol. But thanks to the permanent staff with (from the guest's perspective) low staff turnover, one or two errors are quickly corrected.
All of this, of course, comes at a price. The Quellenhof wasn't "cheap" even a few years ago, and it certainly doesn't intend to be. However, given the services offered (very spacious rooms, a fantastic 5-course menu, a huge breakfast and salad buffet, imaginative pastries, a huge wellness area, and fantastic demonstrations of infusions in the lakeside event sauna), it is literally worth the price.
The only criticism: Drink prices have risen quite significantly in recent years. Understandable, of course, since costs for goods, personnel, etc. (especially) have risen significantly in the last two years (this income will certainly also be used to "cross-finance" other increased costs (energy, etc.).
Nevertheless, some guests reach a limit they are no longer willing to exceed. Everyone has to decide for themselves how much and what it is worth to them.
A very nice wellness hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful rooms. Everything was very clean. There's plenty of entertainment for children. Water slides, a playground, and a fun park with several trampolines. The highlight for our son was the go-kart track. Admittedly, we were initially a little skeptical about the size and number of guests at the Quellenhof, but these concerns quickly dissipated. Despite the hotel being well-staffed, everything was perfectly organized, and after some initial orientation issues, we quickly found our way around the large complex. Check-in and check-out were smooth and friendly. The service staff, some of whom were locals, were extremely courteous, friendly, and professional (we would especially like to commend Daniela, a young woman from South Tyrol). The wellness area and pools were very nice, although we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy everything because there was a queue at the Vital Spa starting at 4 p.m., which we didn't want to do. The relaxation rooms were very well-maintained, and there was always space available. The room was very nice and spacious. We were slightly bothered by the lack of natural light in the dining room and other rooms, which takes some getting used to for a 5-star hotel. This is probably due to ongoing renovations and additions. The food selection, preparation, and presentation on beautiful china were excellent.
All in all, highly recommended, even though we prefer smaller hotels in the 4-star or 4-star superior category.
We've been repeat guests at this wonderful hotel for over 20 years now. It's truly become a "second home" for all of us. Whether you meet the friendly Dorfer family, the hotel's owners, or the consistently motivated staff, you feel welcome from the very beginning, and relaxation begins immediately upon arrival. Therefore, we always have the opportunity for a short break to recharge our batteries.
The Medical Center is also highly recommended.
The beauty treatments are also excellent and diverse.
We spent a week as a family at this beautiful luxury wellness resort in South Tyrol. We often vacation in this region and truly enjoy the nature and hospitality, as well as the surrounding towns and villages.
The Quellenhof, however, is in a league of its own when it comes to wellness vacations, modern amenities, design, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and the leisure activities available in all weather conditions. For us, it was the best resort for a wellness vacation as a family to date.
No wishes remain unfulfilled here, and the range of possible activities is extremely broad. Using an online portal, you can book activities for the day via your mobile phone and get information from the information sheet at breakfast. All ball sports, bike rentals, quad rentals/tours, horseback riding, diving, rafting, etc. are offered accordingly. There are also several indoor/outdoor playgrounds for children, which can be visited at any time. The countless spa/bathing options for families, as well as in the adult-only area, offer ample opportunities to cater to each guest and their needs.
Culinary-wise, a 6-course menu awaits each guest in the evening, leaving nothing to be desired in terms of both scope and appearance. There's also a menu for younger guests to choose from.
The rooms are modernly furnished and leave nothing to be desired. We really couldn't complain about the size of the rooms either.
The only thing that was a bit annoying was the long walk from the room to the various areas. Furthermore, it takes a little time at first to find your way around and find everything. However, everything is well signposted, which is due to the sheer size of the area. That's unavoidable. If you offer a lot, you need a lot of space :-)
Overall, I highly recommend this resort to everyone, and we had a great time there as a family. We will definitely book again.
The Quellenhof has now become our regular hotel because everything just works for us. Great sauna infusions with the best sauna masters, super friendly staff, and very good quality food. We really like the new sauna area. We are delighted that Judith and Norbert are back on the sauna team. The staff is always friendly and fulfills our every wish. We also always look forward to a quick chat with Ms. Dorfer. Ms. Dorfer is always very friendly and personable. In the bistro, we always look forward to the waitresses Sabrina and Moni... and of course, in the bar, Thommy, Elias, and Fuzy, where we receive very friendly and informal service. We feel very comfortable in this hotel and are already looking forward to our next stay in a few weeks at our dream hotel.
We have been coming here for many years. Our main building is the small Hideaway Alpenschlössel. If you like action, head down the mountain to the resort. There is something for every age. Child care for the little ones, tennis, horse riding, golf including lessons in all 3 sports, a wide range of wellness and wellness options, even medical services. Unbeatable offer. Bicycles are available free of charge, e-bikes at moderate prices. What we were always particularly happy about as a family were the discounts for the children when they stayed in the same room (suite). Even when they were already big. The half board leaves nothing to be desired and everything in the Alpenschlössel is wonderfully familiar. We have known the permanent staff for years! Despite the familiarity, something new comes along every year. Whether sauna or in the garden and down in the Aquaparc resort, karting track, climbing hall, cinema, etc. Craziness. It's almost like a city in itself. It's almost tempting to just stay in the resort and only look at the beautiful surroundings from the relaxation room, the panoramic sauna, the pool or the garden. The Alpenschlössel advertises with the slogan “your second home” and for us it has actually become that. We have visited many hotels, including in this category, but NONE comes close to the Alpenschlössel with its access to everything the resort offers.
We spent a week at the Quellenhof.
First of all, a very large and beautiful complex, which is very well maintained, with a lot of attention to detail and appropriate decor in many areas.
However, in our opinion, there are a few points of criticism that we find inappropriate for a 5-star resort:
- Service: The service staff were often not particularly friendly, sometimes only greeting you upon request.
- Food: The à la carte menus are very good and high-quality, while the food from the show kitchen falls significantly short in quality and taste, and was sometimes only served lukewarm.
Table water costs extra at dinner.
- The resort advertises itself as a tennis resort, but there are no water bottles or drinking water dispensers at the courts.
- The basketballs are clearly worn.
- Fitness: The fitness room is okay, but too small for a resort of this size, and the Freeletics areas could be improved.
- The resort's bowling and go-kart track cost extra. (€15-20) This should be included in the standard and budget.
- The bowling alley, as well as the adjacent children's area, has no ventilation. Both areas do not match the impression of a 5-star luxury resort.
- Indoor golf: Doesn't work and is simply a furniture storage area.
- Communication: Communication with guests takes place via an in-house app, but helpful tips for parents (e.g., stroller rentals, lunch, etc.) are either not found here, or are very convoluted.
Finally, a small side note: As the owner of a resort, it's not particularly friendly to the guests present if you explicitly only welcome the regulars at dinner and ignore the other guests without comment.
We are aware that these are only minor details.
However, the following is particularly worth highlighting:
Overall, it is a very nice resort with a truly great spa, and there are many options when the weather is nice.
Our waitress, Diego, was wonderful every day; once again, I highly commend her for that.
We stayed at the Alpenschlössel and therefore only reviewed the wellness area.
Basically, everything was very tastefully and stylishly decorated. Unfortunately, the overall impression is somewhat dampened by the constant moving around, as the areas are somewhat awkwardly separated. The 25m infinity pool isn't really a pool either, so the only thing left is the small, often full infinity pool on the roof of the main entrance.
It would also be desirable to have additional bars in some of the sauna/pool areas so that you can also relax with a drink in the pool.
Nevertheless, it's an excellent wellness temple, and the car shuttle between the buildings is also very much appreciated!
We'd be happy to come back!
Our stay there was almost two years ago, but I'm so happy with the bag we were given at checkout, which is why I wanted to write a review now.
I use the Quellenhof shopper almost every day and enjoy my stay at the Quellenhof.
The hotel offers a lot, and the sauna with its show infusions is a real treat!
The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, and we haven't seen such a wide selection anywhere since! It's a lasting memory!!
What bothered us a bit were the sometimes long paths between the buildings, which also ran outside. We had to go through the wellness area to get to the restaurant. The hotel itself has different levels and elevators, and we had a bit of trouble getting our bearings. The hotel is located outside the city center, so strolling through the town center wasn't possible.
Impressive family hotel with an exciting concept that is clearly geared towards families. The friendliness of the staff in the various restaurants is impressive. The food is fresh and lovingly prepared. The wine list is excellent! One thing that shouldn't be overlooked is how impressive the processes are, given the size of the Quellenhof, to ensure the well-being of its guests.
For children, the Quellenhof is a fantastic experience with all its offerings. We greatly appreciate this (aqua park, Action World, etc.). The hotel has invested enormously in its infrastructure; you can tell they're trying to offer something for everyone.
Thanks also to the very courteous staff at the riding stables and to Stefano and his colleague at the go-kart track.
The reception still has room for improvement. It's a shame that the ladies at the reception didn't know how to handle complaints or were skillfully ignored, but they were able to resolve them upon check-out. What I still can't understand, however, is why our car was parked outside in front of reception, even though we had an allocated underground parking space. These were minor inconveniences, but they didn't spoil our experience. We can wholeheartedly recommend the Quellenhof.
We stayed here for a long weekend, and I highly recommend the Quellenhof. Very friendly staff, a fantastic, large complex with countless spa options (saunas, indoor and outdoor pools, massages, etc.). I would especially like to highlight the fantastic sauna infusion demonstrations by renowned sauna masters; these alone made the trip unforgettable.
The food included in the half-board package is delicious (see pictures) and can be chosen from a set menu (2-3 options per course).
The only downside: due to the size, you often have to travel longer distances, and the large number of people means it no longer feels "exclusive."
I'll definitely be back!
The Quellenhof is a truly large and wonderful resort. The view from the bar with a glass of sparkling wine or from the whirlpool is simply breathtaking. I especially enjoyed the sauna infusions; they were performed with such meticulous attention to detail. Unfortunately, this also meant they were very crowded, so if you prefer a smaller, more private setting, this isn't the right place. The food was also excellent, and all in all, it was a truly fantastic stay. The price is relatively high but fair. There is ample parking.
The room wasn't spotlessly clean, mold on the outside wall, and the heating didn't work throughout the stay.
Edit: The heating malfunction was reported to management several times; a technician even came to check, but to no avail.
We have been coming to you every November for several years now and we are impressed every time. Of course, it takes a while to get your bearings at the beginning because it's a big complex. But once you get the hang of it, there are so many incredible options open to you that you really have nothing left to wish for. The spa area opens early and it feels like you can go in for some kind of infusion every half hour, which is really outstanding. We have never had such good sauna masters in a spa as there. The daily event infusion is also worth it. The food is also incredible, and the fact that there are alternatives for intolerances is a dream. We look forward to seeing Marek again every year.
"Our stay at the Quellenhof in South Tyrol was simply outstanding. From the breathtaking mountain scenery to the first-class hospitality, everything undoubtedly deserves five stars. The rooms were luxurious and comfortable, the culinary offerings were first-class, and the spa area offered pure relaxation. Every member of staff contributed to making our stay unforgettable. The Quellenhof is an oasis of relaxation and enjoyment—a clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates the highest standards."
We've enjoyed returning to the Quellenhof for years – it always feels like coming home. The outstanding service, the excellent food, and the impressive wellness area make every stay a pleasure. Our only suggestion for improvement: the loyalty program should be revised to offer additional benefits to those staying only 2-3 nights. We're already looking forward to our next stay.
We spent a few days at the Alpenschlössel, part of the Quellenhof, for my birthday just before Christmas. This resort was recommended to us by other Swiss guests. It met or exceeded all our expectations. Our suite was incredibly beautiful, stylish, and very spacious. The whirlpool on the roof was simply fantastic. The food was fantastic, so creative, with a huge selection at dinner. The wellness treatments are also excellent, and the staff are very pleasant and super friendly. I also loved that the entire hotel staff seemed to be from the region. :-) We found it pleasant that the hotel was relatively quiet, as we were looking for a time out. The pools and saunas in the hotel are fantastic, beautifully furnished, and spacious. Everything was excellent, we'll be back!
It was really great, there's a lot on offer, everything your heart desires, the food is excellent, the rooms are clean and nice, the wellness area is a dream, and it was never overcrowded, except for the themed saunas, for example, Top Gun, but that's okay. The price/performance ratio is justified.
We had a great stay. However, we weren't entirely convinced by the host's warmth. We had a very mixed feeling about the staff. This stay was a birthday present for my husband and an opportunity to share beautiful moments as a family. We are grateful for the great birthday cake that the boss conjured up. The quality of the food is extraordinary and very upscale. Unfortunately, this is somewhat lost due to lackluster and inattentive service. We were lucky to be served by a very nice young lady on our first evening. Now the experience of the next day just went downhill. Here are some points:
1. When choosing a vegan menu, you were not informed that it would take more time. When we were waiting for our food and asked the waitress about it, she didn't even apologize and simply said that vegan always takes a long time. I would have expected a friendly answer like: "I'll take a look at it immediately to see how we can speed it up." Especially in an institution like the Quellenhof, you expect a lot more sympathy and sophistication.
2. At breakfast we were asked at the beginning whether we would like to drink tea or coffee. A refill was never offered, although you could always see the staff. Of course I can always speak to the staff. But as a guest you expect the communication and commitment/initiative/motivation of the service staff in a hotel of this level. Every now and then my hands were too full because my husband was at the table with the baby. But no one offered help, even though they saw me. Another little thing that makes the staff not seem so helpful.
3. When I ordered the vegan menu, it suddenly took so long that we had to take our baby for a short walk because he couldn't stand on the chair anymore. When we returned, the food was already on the table without us being there. Again, something you don't expect in a setting like this.
4. In the spa you were treated professionally, the lady at the reception (Magdalena) is extremely polite and accommodating. I wasn't too happy with one of our treatments but she sincerely apologized for the inconvenience. Since we are all human and make mistakes, she made me feel very noticed. My facial, however, was very pleasant and the therapist was personable and talented.
5. The last point was that I had a conversation with the lady from the office at checkout (the evening before departure). I gave her extensive feedback, but to be honest I didn't feel like she was taken that seriously. She listened to me but we were missing a sincere apology from the hotel. At no point was I told that next time they would make the experience 100% to our liking and look forward to our visit.
That brings me to my final point. I had the impression that they take criticism from new guests with caution. I even wrote a Whatsapp message and thanked her, but Caroline's answer came with hello...not even hello, Mrs. Hanslin. It's a shame, you don't seem to have any need to win new customers.
A very large hotel, a bit sprawling, but complete with everything you could possibly need. Perfect for children and couples seeking relaxation. The only concerns:
- lack of a Nespresso machine in the room (I expect one from a 5-star hotel)
- overcharging at €6 for a 0.75 cl bottle of water in the restaurant.
Thanks to our regular guest weeks, we found ourselves at the Quellenhof for the third time this year. And since there wasn't much on our to-do list in November, we spontaneously took advantage of the time and looked at the resort in Lazise, the Lake Lodge, and other rooms at the Quellenhof. After all, you might want to see something new on vacation. And when do you ever get the chance to check out other vacation alternatives beforehand? Besides the cuisine, we always look forward to the people at the hotel - Helga (rooms), Marek (restaurant), Moritz (bar), and many others who make our stay so personal and familiar. And we're always sad when we realize that familiar faces have left the "hallowed halls." We would be delighted if the balconies in Guesthouse V could be made even more comfortable. Currently, there are one lounger and two chairs without cushions, which is already extremely many for the limited space. Of course, as with many things, tastes differ, but we would also love two comfortable upholstered armchairs with a table, for example. But knowing the hotel, there will be a lot of screwing, drilling, and replacing during the winter break, so we'll discover many new little things again in March. And if there were more regular guest weeks in the future, we'd probably come even more often. ;)
FOR 5 stars and the positive reviews, unfortunately a somewhat "negative" surprise. We stay in a lot of hotels and expected more than the competition offers. So this holiday didn't REALLY pick us up. # our experiences Positive # spacious complex / but very scattered - rooms generously designed, plenty of space and clean / quality of the beds / replaceable and isolated - as a non-smoker you get fogged in from the neighbor's balcony / wellness good and varied treatments - very friendly and good quality / wellness reception unfortunately cannot sell or advise / restaurant very helpful and friendly - food top quality, varied and unfortunately always served a bit too cold / at the bars the drinks were of top quality and the price was okay. Sauna areas very spread out but with a variety of offers / shows and themes as well as enough towels and tea with fresh cups are always available. Conclusion Visually a beautiful complex - very committed - with high quality in this league it is certainly difficult to maintain - with a few rough edges - feedback questionnaire for all areas should be standard.
We've become regulars; and there's clearly a good reason for that. Going to the Quellenhof or the Alpelnschlössel is like immersing yourself (and not just physically in the pools) in another world! When we arrive at this beautiful place, it's as if we're right at home.
The wealth of amenities, such as pools and saunas, is truly extraordinary, and they're always a pleasure to use.
The ability to enjoy the surrounding panorama is an added bonus, always a pleasant one.
The staff is always very kind and always able to accommodate guests' requests.
Furthermore, the presence of games other than wellness-related ones always keeps children happy.
We'll definitely be back!
I had the pleasure of visiting Sauna Paradise and would like to share my experience. The facility is extremely well-maintained and offers many small saunas spread across several buildings. Unfortunately, it was difficult to secure a spot for the infusion, as this area was quite popular. A plus point is the generous provision of tea, juice, and towels. However, please note that the bistro closes at 5:00 PM. The highlight of the facility is undoubtedly the outdoor shell, which creates a special atmosphere. Praise also goes to the extremely friendly staff, who made the stay even more pleasant. All in all, a refreshing experience in idyllic surroundings.
One small drawback for me was that the paths to the other buildings are outdoors, which can be rather unpleasant in winter. Some covered or heated connecting paths could improve the overall experience.
This is my third birthday at the Quellenhof Passeier, and every time I'm speechless.
It's hard to describe the perfect vacation.
From the moment we requested a quote, the staff was incredibly kind, competent, and prompt. They were wonderful; they even managed to avoid having to change rooms, leaving us a wonderful surprise at check-in.
The rooms are tastefully decorated and always spotlessly clean. The restaurant service is excellent, the dishes are always tasty and carefully prepared, and the breakfast and dinner buffets are a dream.
The sauna area amazes me every time; we never left the hotel for three nights. There's always something to do.
There are plenty of relaxation areas, so you almost never run out of loungers.
The spa has true professionals (thanks again for the Ayurvedic Shirodara massage) both in the cabins and at reception.
The entire property offers a welcoming atmosphere, from the furnishings (I love the penguin area) to the enveloping scent.
It doesn't feel like a mega-hotel, but rather a boutique hotel.
Excellent bar service (we appreciated being able to also drink at the SeeLodge) and pleasant musical entertainment.
If I can offer a small (and superfluous) suggestion, it's about the restaurant: it's a bit too hot, and it would be ideal to be able to start dinner until 9:00 PM.
Thanks again to the Dorfer family and all the staff. See you next November 30th ️
This was our third stay at the Quellenhof, and we were once again very grateful to have spent such wonderful days there. What stands out most is that all the staff, whether at reception, in the restaurant, or the cleaning staff, are incredibly friendly, helpful, and kind. You can tell they all enjoy their work, and that makes you feel very comfortable as a guest. The food was, as always, outstanding and beautifully presented. The spa area was spotlessly clean and perfect for relaxing. Of course, it was busier at this time of year than in the summer, but you could still find a spot. We will definitely be back.
The Quellenhof, and more specifically the See Lodge, is truly an oasis of relaxation! The Quellenhof's diverse offerings offer peace and relaxation in the See Lodge, or fun for the little ones (and more) with the water slide, the lazy river, billiards, bowling... it's impossible to mention everything.
The rooms are very spacious and beautifully furnished. Great beds, blackout curtains...
The culinary offerings are top-notch, the huge wine cellar, and the excellent advice from the chef are simply a dream.
It wouldn't be half as good if it weren't for the always friendly and attentive staff. Top-notch!!
Cars, including vintage cars, are safely parked in one of the garages.
We'll definitely be back...
Things are going downhill...
We've been regular annual guests for over 10 years, but with the passing of Mother Dorfer, who used to come to our table every evening and talk to the little children, the opening in Lazise (not recommended), and now the Sea Lodge, not only has the family atmosphere been lost. They're clearly focusing on B and C customers. Celebrities, the wealthy middle class, who probably generate 99% of revenue (if celebrities even pay anything), are taking a back seat.
The omelette, which you also have to get yourself, was out of the question for the first three mornings for our friends and us, as no one wanted to stand in a METER-LONG line like at an all-inclusive hotel in Turkey.
At dinner, we were served faster than at a drive-thru, even though we asked the waitress several times to slow down the menu.
The quality of the food has declined significantly.
In the Cigar Lounge, the cables hung out of the wall throughout our entire stay, like a poorly managed youth hostel.
The service at the bar could have been much better. It improved when Fuzzy returned from vacation.
There were no loungers left in the wellness areas because too many external day visitors were allowed (according to the hotel's written response), even though they were fully booked!!! It should go without saying (as is usual in all other properly run hotels) that they don't allow day visitors when they're fully booked.
There are more "little things" to report. If I spend more than 1,000 euros a day, I expect more!
This is no longer 5 stars. There are much better options in the Alpine region these days...
It's a real shame, it was by far our favorite hotel for over 10 years, even though it was never cheap.
Perhaps the focus is on short-term profit optimization, in which case the strategy is appropriate. If not, it would be better to return to the “roots,” otherwise the regular customers will leave.
A kids paradise, but not to everyone’s taste.
You feel right away that you arrive at a well run family resort at the Quellenhof, they have thought of everything and things are under control. The selection of kids activities at this resort is really outstanding, it’s truly a kids paradise.
The resort itself consist of, I believe 6 different hotel buildings, that are all connected. Each has its own wellness area, meaning it will take you 3 days just to find your way through the corridors, tunnels etc. And this is one of the problems with this place, it’s just a bit too big, and the coziness you want in a wellness resort kind of disappears.
Many of the buildings are relatively new, expensively built and well designed, with furniture matching the style. But, and it’s a big but, there are so many decorative items everywhere that completely ruins it, I would go so far as to call it tacky. Large green porcelain frogs, all kinds of plastic flowers, the style is very 80’s, really a shame as it lets down the otherwise good design. For us it was a deal breaker, but that is of course very individual.
The Garden Suite in the Parkresidenz was of older origin, but nicely touched up with modern design, and the perfect room for a family of 4-6 members. The restaurant in the same building was also excellent, and the staff went out of their way to please the customers.
A few suggestions for the hotel:
- We initially got the older washed-out white robes, which does not exactly give you a cozy feeling (one does wear this all day). We then asked to swap them for the newer thicker grey ones that other guests were wearing. Why even use these old ones? Get rid of them, and give all guest new robes, it also looks much better with guests in uniform robes in warm colors.
- No TV working on cardio machines in the gym, a real shame, the TV’s are there, looks like a cable is connected, just no one bothered to check if it works.
All together a great resort, but too big and design wise just not to our taste.
Unfortunately, it's no longer an insider tip...
We've treated ourselves to a break at the Quellenhof several times now and always enjoy going back. Even though the service, ambiance, and food are still top-notch, we sometimes feel a bit uncomfortable due to the large number of guests, especially since the level of behavior has also dropped in some cases. The "occupancy" of the loungers is extremely annoying, even if they aren't used for hours. Or showing up to breakfast in tracksuits—okay, maybe my fashion sense is a bit outdated—but I still find the sight of tracksuits in a restaurant inappropriate—even at breakfast.
Or: slicing bread with bare fingers, not a cloth—I find it truly unappealing.
Nevertheless, we will always enjoy going back to the Quellenhof, as the Dorfer family and staff really go out of their way to accommodate their guests. I find it remarkable that they are constantly looking for improvements. For example, getting rid of the juicers at breakfast: although I always enjoyed using them, the noise they made was quite noticeable. I only noticed this once the machines were no longer there.
This was our first time at the Quellenhof Luxury Resort in the Passeier Valley. As someone familiar with the industry, I'd always wanted to go there. And what can I say? Even if you arrive with high expectations, the hotel exceeds them in every single aspect!
Before booking, as someone on an average income, you think twice about whether the very high prices are really worth it. After the stay, you inevitably come to the conclusion: The value for money is actually okay – even if it's still very expensive.
For that price, you not only get more of EVERYTHING, but much more, without ever feeling like it's excessive. On the contrary: You can see in every corner of the hotel that an incredible amount of attention to detail has been paid. You discover so many wonderful things that you would never expect, but which are simply brilliant to be there. (Specific examples would be pointless, as there's nothing you'll ever miss!)
We were there for the spa: The selection is vast, varied, and even higher quality than you'd expect from a 5-star hotel... despite the many guests, it never feels overcrowded (except perhaps in the saunas with themed infusions – but you can easily avoid those if you're not a fan). A particularly brilliant feature: Towels are constantly being changed in all the relaxation rooms, as often as you like or need them. And: There are beverage stations everywhere with tea, water, and syrups. Dried fruit and fresh apples are also always available. Truly a fantastic spa experience, second to none.
A little excursion into the children's realm (even though we didn't have ours with us): It seems like there's nothing they don't have. They even have their own adventure park with a climbing wall, trampoline park, go-kart track, bowling alley, several children's rooms, slides, a water park, etc. It's incredible... truly. And yet: As a wellness guest, it feels as if there are no children at all – that's how well everything is separated.
Food: I've stayed in many hotels, but I've truly never seen such an extensive, brilliant, and meticulously prepared breakfast. There's really nothing they don't have... An endless selection of various types of bread and pastries – all homemade, of course. Delightful appetizers with salmon, avocado, various creams, etc. You simply have to see it for yourself. A particularly brilliant feature: There's a dedicated juice bar where you can chop and squeeze your own breakfast drink... Dinner: I've never experienced anything more magnificent in a hotel. Even though the head chef only serves his four-Michelin-starred cuisine in his own small, separate restaurant, as a "regular guest," you still get a taste of the entire kitchen team's exceptional skill with the standard six-course meal each evening. Absolutely delicious...
A little side note: I also think it's fantastic that they seem to be trying to minimize food waste and cleverly and excellently repurpose leftovers without compromising quality. Kudos for that!
In conclusion:
Yes, it's a bit of a splurge. But it's more than worth it! In every respect. It's also particularly nice to mention that, despite the size of the resort, the consistently high-class clientele, and the well-deserved 5-star rating, you never feel stuffy, elitist, or snobbish. Everything is really pleasant, personal, and relaxed—not overly casual, but not pretentious either. A truly welcoming atmosphere.
Full marks are therefore well deserved. We'll be back!
Thank you for the truly wonderful stay.
This is the third time we have had the opportunity to spend a few days on vacation at the Quellenhof. And again we were thrilled. Actually, you shouldn't write "very good" reviews so that other customers don't discover the Quellenhof. But it just has to be because he really deserves it. Very large complex, with many options – separate, well-equipped children's areas – the adult areas were never too crowded – "it's a good place to stay."
The individual guest is ignored – there's no 5-star feeling – the food and the restaurant are nothing special. The à la carte restaurant is good – very good wine selection – but very expensive – similar wines are available in Merano – the restaurant in the city center – much cheaper (> 30%).
For everything on offer, the price-performance ratio wasn't right for us.
A fantastic resort with various houses and areas for families and adults-only! Even the smallest rooms are very spacious (28m²). The kitchen is absolutely top-quality. There's something for everyone among the various saunas. The show infusions in the event sauna are a must-see; highly recommended!
A wonderful wellness hotel in the idyllic Passeier Valley: various wellness areas, an aqua park with three different slides, a very well-equipped gym, a breakfast buffet with a very wide selection and high quality, and an excellent multi-course dinner. Giving this hotel a bad review would be ridiculous!
Whether it's the service, the food, the rooms, or the spa area, everything is simply top-notch! This was our second time at the Quellenhof, and we're completely satisfied once again. There are tons of activities in the area!
But one thing deserves special mention! The sauna infusions (especially the show infusions) and the fitness programs are absolutely fantastic! The team around Rudi, Didi, and Alexander is very courteous, helpful, and most importantly... totally friendly! Thank you for the running session and the many amazing sauna infusions! We're already looking forward to our next visit, hopefully in March!
Dear Quellenhof team, please keep up the great work!
Thank you for this unforgettable honeymoon!
A wellness oasis of the finest. We visited the Quellenhof Resort for the very first time on a recommendation and stayed at the Alpenschlössl. It's a very family-friendly hotel, easy to navigate. It has a sauna, spa, fitness center, pools, private parking, everything is available in this hotel... the resort is truly huge and offers everything for every guest. We felt completely at home at the Alpenschlössl. The service and staff are truly exceptionally friendly, and you can tell right away that they love working there. The food was delicious, there was plenty of variety at dinner, and the breakfast left nothing to be desired. The staff were very professional during the wellness treatments... thank you for an all-around perfect vacation... we've already booked for next year.
We received an upgrade from two rooms to the Rosen Suit Deluxe. Whirlpool, private sauna, two bedrooms, two bathrooms & living room for the same price. Simply amazing. We felt very comfortable. The food was excellent (something delicious for everyone). Helpful in choosing the wine. Attentive staff in every area. Whether at the pool/sauna/bar/lounger/garden/spa/massage/dining room/garage... There was always a smile waiting for us. We would love to come back and can hardly wait to enjoy this oasis again. Thank you, Dorfer family, for now making us part of the Quellenhof family.
Whether traveling alone, as a couple, or as a family with children, everyone is in good hands at the Quellenhof Passeier. Great rooms, excellent food, although in the main restaurant, you might wonder if the Gourmetstuben 1897 can even top it—but yes, they can! The wellness area is excellent, the service is excellent, always friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are beautiful and varied.
We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. The hotel offers numerous activities and things to do. There's also a wide range of things to do especially for children (including trampolines, horseback riding, indoor go-karts, water slides, a kids' club, a cinema, bowling, etc.). Boredom is a given. The breakfast buffet and evening menu were also very varied and good.
The only thing we would have liked was supervision at the water slides, whirlpools, and pools in the Family Aqua Parc. Things got a bit adventurous at times (children jumping off the slides and poolside without looking, or simply sliding after the others when the light was red). Overall, though, it's highly recommended.
We stayed twice and enjoyed it both times. The children's offerings are second to none. Without children, I would prefer other hotels.
It's a large complex and in some places very winding. The hosts are a bit reserved but tried hard. There are areas in the restaurant without natural light; fortunately, we never stayed in one. The food was consistently good. The one magic trick in the evening was a bit below the belt.
It's more like a club hotel, but if you're aware of that, it's fine.
We were so impressed with the Quellenhof this May that we'll be back next year at the latest. The girls at reception are very friendly and genuine, which is very important to me. Even though I'm at a 5-star resort, I don't like being addressed formally, even though I'm in my mid-20s, and I found it very pleasant and authentic that this isn't the case at the Quellenhof – it always seems too artificial for me. A friendly "du" or simply avoiding it altogether is a much better and more professional solution. Thank you for that.
The breakfast was incredible. There's nothing they don't offer: from their own smoothie room to the omelet and pancake corner, everything is available, including the typical South Tyrolean speck and sparkling wine.
Here, too, every employee was incredibly friendly and cheerful.
Afterwards, a very nice young lady accompanied us to the wellness area, where everything was explained. I wish it was as warm and professional everywhere.
The entire wellness area is stunning, the saunas are top-notch, the staff are friendly and available at all times, the relaxation rooms are pleasant, and the pools and terrace are really nice and clean.
My personal highlight was the sauna infusions and especially the themed infusion – that alone won me over. It was the theme of the whole week for me, as I've never experienced anything so amazing.
It's a shame it was only a day spa, but next time we'll stay for several days, as the hotel was truly the best we've ever stayed in; other 4 and 5-star hotels unfortunately couldn't offer me that, and it's not something to be taken for granted. Not only was the staff top-notch, the guests were also always friendly and nice, and I'm of the opinion that you dress your guests and are responsible for who comes. I also liked the casual style of dress at breakfast; after all, it's a vacation, and anything else would be too artificial.
If I had to criticize anything, it would be the loud helicopter when you're in the relaxation room and want to sleep, although I also think it's cool that the Quellenhof has its own helicopter; and the unfriendly, somewhat younger, busybody downstairs at the reception (around 35-45) who couldn't bring himself to say hello and goodbye, but just stood arrogantly at the reception with his arms crossed and seemed to intimidate even the friendly receptionists...
But he was the only unfriendly person in the entire hotel.
A great hotel with wonderful attractions, so I don't think you'll ever get bored here.
See you soon <3
We traveled to South Tyrol with high expectations, as it was our first summer vacation in the mountains and at the Quellenhof. We were not disappointed; on the contrary, our expectations were even exceeded. The entire hotel complex is very well-maintained, spacious, and clean, the staff exceptionally friendly, and the amenities left nothing to be desired. Despite the occasional inclement weather, the hotel's vast range of activities meant we never got bored. Whether swimming, bowling, wellness, yoga, tennis, golf, cycling, soccer, etc., everything was offered and we actively participated.
Location:
The hotel is located 12 km north of Merano in the Passeier Valley. Even for inexperienced cyclists, Merano is easily accessible by bike (bikes can be rented at the hotel at no extra charge). Bolzano is also a 40-minute drive away and well worth the trip. The mountains are ideal for hiking, and another nearby highlight is the Garden of Trautmannsdorf near Merano.
Rooms:
The rooms meet the standards of a 5-star hotel, and the beds are very comfortable. It was also very quiet.
Service:
The staff was very accommodating. Special requests, such as different main courses than those listed on the daily menu, were fulfilled without any problems and at an extra charge, even in the "standard restaurant." The atmosphere throughout the hotel was extremely friendly.
Food:
Breakfast was extensive, with something for everyone. Dinner consisted of five courses and was a highlight every day.
Activities:
There was something for everyone. Taking a bike and cycling along the Passer River, horseback riding, playing tennis, or golf—everything was possible. You had to sign up, but it was never difficult to get a spot, even during peak travel times. There were daily classes (water aerobics, yoga, abs, legs, and bums...), wellness offerings, etc. The pool area was huge. There were areas for children and relaxation areas for ages 14 and up. It was never a problem to get pool loungers next to each other, as there were plenty available.
A friendly welcome and quick/prompt check-in. Since this wasn't our first time at the Quellenhof, a detailed explanation of the hotel wasn't necessary. The room was available before the official check-in time – thank you very much for that.
A member of staff then showed us the way to the Vitalresidenz parking garage and helped us with our luggage.
A very nice and large room, with nothing to complain about. Everything was there and spotlessly clean. The cleaning team often cleaned the room while we were having breakfast! Thank you very much for that.
As usual, a huge and extensive breakfast buffet. It was great that we could have breakfast outside. If you get there around 8 a.m., it's still very quiet. Most guests/families arrive around 8:30 a.m.
Dinner was of the usual very good quality. It was great that they accommodated our request for a table in the small parlor, and it was nice to see that the same service employee, who even knew us, was still there. The service was perfect, as always.
The fitness room appears to have been equipped with additional cardio equipment, thus offering something for every guest. It's a bit of a hassle that there are sometimes children in the gym, or guests working out in non-fitness-appropriate attire (e.g., flip-flops). The on-site staff should pay more attention to this.
Tennis courts can be reserved starting at 6 p.m. the evening before. This has always worked out well.
We didn't use the sauna; however, there are several saunas available.
There were plenty of lounge chairs in the adults-only area at the Vitalresidenz; it was correspondingly quiet there.
Bar area: We would have liked the staff to be a bit more proactive in the evening. We once sat very close to the bar on one of the sofas, and no one came over to take our order. We then got our drinks ourselves at the bar.
Apart from that, all the staff were very friendly, and we felt very comfortable.
Check-out was also very quick. However, please ensure that the iPad does not display the bill of the previously checked-out guest (including name, address, amount, etc.).
We already miss the good food and are all the more looking forward to our (already booked) next stay at the Quellenhof.
Where does the Quellenhof get such qualified and friendly service staff?! Daniel, whom we've known for three years, still hasn't lost his smile and is as attentive, quick, and professional as ever This year we also met Alex – very patient, attentive, and, like everyone at the Quellenhof, very child-friendly. Thank you, Mille!
There's no shortage of young talent like Josef. Keep it up!
The quality of the food is top-notch as usual – compliments to the kitchen and the appetizer buffet on Sundays is always a highlight
The only thing that could be improved is the reception staff explaining how to get to your room a little better upon check-in. Since we're in a new building every time, it's always a bit stressful trying to find a room with two children after a five-hour drive.
The cleanliness, the range of activities (sports, wellness, riding stables, kids' activities, and so on), and the suggestions for things to do in the region (fishing pond!!) for the daily program also don't disappoint.
Mr. Dorfer's visit to the table is also very nice; he takes time for everyone
We love Quellenhof ️ and thank everyone who makes such a wonderful vacation possible—even those you don't get to see as a guest
There is everything: horses, donkeys, football, tennis, golf, swimming pools, many swimming pools, half outside the hotel and half inside. Car rental, bikes, etc., etc., there is everything inside, even a hairdresser, a doctor, shops, there is a huge pool that can be turned around by boat, villas above the artificial lake, in short, a spectacle.
It's not easy for me to rate it. Basically it's a great hotel, but there are many details that leave something to be desired. The adult area is almost universally well-equipped and everything has been renovated, but unfortunately the family area is a completely different story (see pictures). I will therefore concentrate on the negative aspects that displease us and are a no-go for this category and price. The reception staff are unfortunately incompetent and apparently still in training. We never encountered a competent person on any day; they had to be fetched when needed. The room cleaners failed to remove sticky stains from the bedside table (from the previous guest) and next to the minibar for several days. Our room 275 is basically good and very large, but the bathroom is like that of a 3-star hotel. No place to hang a towel in the shower. Lots of marks on the walls from previous guests. The furniture on the balcony... I can't think of anything else to say... let's just say it's very old-fashioned. An absolutely disgusting toilet, like in a 2-star hotel in the family area next to the pool bar.
That's all I can think of right now. Oh yes, the prices at the bar... a double espresso over 5 euros, gin between 12-14 euros, plus 5 euros for the tonic. So, on average, 18 euros for a gin and tonic??? It has to be world-class for that... it isn't.
You can go there, especially if you're not vacationing in the kids' area. However, there's a lot on offer for children. The food is consistently very good, and so is the service. But the price/performance ratio isn't right. Especially when they call themselves a luxury resort. Others can do better. Take a look at Amonti and Lunaris, dear hosts.
Even if this all sounds harsh, I can still have a nice vacation here.
We've only ever routinely visited one family hotel in South Tyrol. This year, we were brave and visited the Quellenhof for the first time. All our expectations were met and exceeded. This resort is not only beautifully situated, it also has an incredible amount to offer children of all ages. My daughter was very happy. The food (whether a la carte, bistro, set menu, or teppanyaki) was perfect. The staff was always very friendly and attentive.
It takes a while to discover everything, but you can always check online where to find things. I only had one small complaint, and this minor criticism was addressed personally via email. I found it very thoughtful. We would go back anytime. Probably the best family hotel in all of South Tyrol.
I'd like to leave my review, hoping it will be perceived as constructive criticism to improve the service. Two observations.
The first is that the staff, especially the dining room staff, speaks very little Italian, and at times we struggled to make ourselves understood (odd, considering we're in Italy).
The second is the lack of hot water in the bathroom for two consecutive nights (very annoying, especially if it had happened in winter). We avoided calling for service given our short stay.
I hope you can take this into account to improve the service.
Thank you
This hotel is truly excellent! It's beautifully situated in the valley, with great attention to detail! Great pools, lovely places to retreat to but also plenty of socializing. Something for everyone! Relaxation and activity at the same time! The food in the evening is fabulous, and the breakfast is also very well-balanced and delicious! Special mention goes to the two guys at the pool bar; they do a fantastic job and provide excellent service. Also Gerlinde from the spa team and the manager's son, who also serves. Free bike rental, fantastic!
The only drawbacks I could mention are that the service at breakfast and in the evening unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired after a while. Perhaps that was just bad luck, and the bed isn't quite as comfortable. There's also no turndown service.
We'll definitely be back and then with a different room, then the rest will surely be perfect :)
Top hotel, top address for top relaxation!
