An Unforgettable Evening at the Jagdhof in Latsch
Yesterday, my wife and I dined at the Jagdhof as non-hotel guests, enjoying the set menu – and what can I say? It was an unforgettable experience from beginning to end!
From the moment we arrived, we felt the exceptional hospitality of the entire team. We have rarely felt so warmly welcomed. Every dish was a culinary masterpiece, perfectly balanced and prepared with great care.
A huge compliment to Sandra, who guided us through the evening with her charming and service-oriented manner – attentive, warm, and with a keen sense for the guests. Equally impressive was the wine selection and expertise of the junior chef, which is truly unparalleled. Although we weren't hotel guests, we were served with the same attentiveness and warmth. The beautifully set table, the handwritten menu, and the small gift touched us deeply – thank you so much!
Another highlight was Philip at the hotel bar: The aperitif and digestif were superb, and his expert advice perfectly complemented the experience.
All in all, it was a dream evening – from the first minute to the last sip – and I was able to celebrate a wonderful birthday in a place that truly embodies hospitality. We are already looking forward to returning soon and getting to know the Jagdhof even better.

We were thrilled and would love to return. We lacked nothing; from the room to the spa and the food, we were treated like guests in a large luxury hotel. Yet, the warmth of the family and staff made it clear that we were staying in a smaller establishment. All the essentials were wonderfully combined; we wouldn't change a thing.

We just got back home after a really lovely, relaxing stay at the Piris. The week was very enjoyable; the Piris people really know how to take good care of their guests. Everything went very smoothly from check-in to check-out. The staff is always helpful and gives tips on tours and excursions, and there's also a good selection of guided activities.
Our room was quite spacious, but unfortunately, it had very little storage space. Our bathroom was old and offered even less storage, so we had to leave everything around the sinks, which was probably a bit of a hassle for the cleaning staff. But considering how old the bathroom was, it was spotless. (We had a completely different experience just a few days before at a 5-star hotel in Switzerland.)
Food—to put it simply: far too much, far too good. You couldn't possibly exercise enough to eat all the food you get here.
Spa area: Really beautiful and lovingly furnished, but unfortunately not always relaxing. It's often the guests themselves who mistake the relaxation rooms for conference rooms, relentlessly blast their cell phones, etc. The relaxation room on the first floor is so lovely! But unfortunately, there are three doors, and it's hardly quiet there, as it's used as a passageway to the sauna or the whirlpool.
The relaxation rooms on the fifth floor are significantly quieter and offer beautiful views.
The water in the pools isn't quite the right temperature for relaxing; only the sky pool is a bit warmer.
The sauna infusions were absolutely fantastic.
The massages were also very good.
We didn't participate in the guided activities, but we saw in the daily program that there really is a good selection.
We thank the entire Piris team for the wonderful week of vacation, for the truly exceptional hospitality, and for the good cheer that radiates from everyone... We're already looking forward to spending the Christmas season with you.

Overrated and only partially renovated. The value for money is completely out of place. Spa facilities on different floors are inconvenient. The staff is overly friendly, along with deficiencies such as broken toilet flushes and incorrect billing. Not recommended.

Modern structure, attentive and extremely friendly staff, cuisine worthy of a 4-star hotel, top-notch services and rooms.
A small personal comment on the price of water at the table (not in labeled bottles), which I find excessive and inappropriate; however, this does not detract from the hotel's excellent overall rating but is, in my opinion, merely a very small lapse in style.
I'm sure I'll be back.

If you don't want to read the whole text, you can have a truly wonderful and relaxing holiday here.
The Piri family and their staff were so friendly and helpful that you'd love to give everyone a hug.
The food was excellent and had the feel of a Michelin-starred chef/kitchen.
The hotel has a wide range of spa and relaxation options, so there's something for everyone.
(The area on the top floor is for adults only).
The in-house bike repair shop and the associated rental bikes are particularly worth mentioning.
Exploring the beautiful surroundings by bike is practically a must here, and anyone who wants to can do so several times a week with one of the Piri's sons.
The family is involved in everything (golf, hiking, wine tasting), and you almost feel like they live in the hotel.
This definitely won't be our last visit, and if you're looking for a vacation without mass tourism, foam parties, all-inclusive buffets, etc., this is the place for you!

It was fantastic there. The room was luxurious. I've never slept so well. The bathroom and toilet were separate. It was also very clean and elegantly furnished.
The afternoon meal was delicious, and there was a wide selection.
The evening meal was divine, with many fine dishes. Everything was just so cozy and pleasant. The entrance from the garage to the hotel was fantastic. The wellness area was relatively large, with an indoor and outdoor pool (the mill wheel inside was, like everything else, a feast for the eyes), a whirlpool, relaxation rooms, a fitness room, and countless saunas.
The staff and owners were extremely friendly and welcoming, and spoke a few words to everyone. The reception staff also explained hiking trails and activities to us in a very friendly and competent manner. We would be happy to come back. Thank you!

An excellent hotel that places great value on the well-being of its guests. It offers a comprehensive range of sporting activities, a spa area, various pool facilities, a sauna, and even an e-mountain bike rental.
The rooms were well-maintained and correspondingly clean. The breakfast buffet was always fresh and very extensive. At lunchtime, we were able to help ourselves to the lunch buffet, which was also excellent. Dinner consisted of two different seven-course menus, which were always to our complete satisfaction.
I would also like to give special praise to the bartender, who, in addition to excellent drinks, always kept the serving quantities under control. Keep up the good work.
One small criticism, albeit at a very high level: The attentiveness of the staff was sometimes a bit too much for our standards.
Upon arrival, we received a lot of information, and after 20 minutes in our room, the receptionist called to check if everything was okay.
But this is really the only minimal negative point I can mention.

I spent a full day at this splendid Belvita hotel. What can I say? Everything was TOP!
We used the Day Spa and dinner with the Gaudi Card, and I can't give a better review of the hotel than excellent.
From booking to arrival, Julian and Steffy's kindness was priceless. They even offered us a welcome drink. This was followed by a tour of the entire hotel and all its areas. Julian even gave me the chance to see some of the rooms. All very elegant and beautiful.
The food is top-notch! At the "snack" there's everything: from desserts to hot dishes to cold cuts. Truly superb.
Dinner is served at the table, offering a standard menu or a vegetarian menu. In the latter case, Hannes is super helpful in carefully explaining all the dishes. A truly luxurious dinner.
The pool area is standard, and the new relaxation room on the first floor is beautiful.
The sauna area on the first floor is a bit dated, but functional and has everything you need. The strong points are definitely the sauna and spa area on the 5th floor. Walter did well with the infusions.
I couldn't find any negative points.
I'd like to thank all the hotel staff again for their kindness.
Points for improvement:
- A few degrees warmer in the outdoor pool on the 5th floor
- Bringing the "lunch-snack" forward to 12:30 instead of 2:30, which is a bit late considering dinner is at 7:00.
I will definitely recommend it and will return!

Thanks again to the GaudiCard, I was able to return to the Jagdhof for an overnight stay. What can I say? Always !
The strong points are definitely the kindness of all the staff, but especially the owners: Ruth is always ready to satisfy every need, as are Julian and Hannes.
Dinner is always divine, as is breakfast! You can find everything, and the quality is top-notch!
As reported in December, improvements could be made: warming the sauna pool water a few degrees warmer, and having lunch earlier. Otherwise, you won't be hungry at 7:30 PM if you go for lunch at 2:30-3 PM.

An absolutely fantastic stay – 5 stars are almost not enough!
The entire staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful – you feel welcome from the very first minute. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully furnished. The view from the hotel is simply breathtaking – the perfect place to unwind. The hotel is also a culinary highlight: the food and service are top-notch, a true delight! I will definitely be back. Beautifully situated on the edge of Latsch. Apple orchards begin right behind the hotel – lovely and peaceful.

A true paradise in the Alps! Our stay at the Jagdhof was absolutely dreamy. The breathtaking mountain scenery, coupled with the warm hospitality of the entire team, made our vacation unforgettable.
The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable, and stylishly furnished. Every morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast that left nothing to be desired. Dinner in the hotel's restaurant was also a culinary highlight. The selection of regional specialties and international dishes was impressive.
The wellness area is an oasis of relaxation. Here, we were able to unwind after extensive hikes and excursions. The saunas, pools, and relaxation areas are well-maintained and offer fantastic views of the surrounding nature.
The dedicated and friendly staff, who were always concerned about our well-being, deserves special mention. Every wish was immediately fulfilled, and you could feel the genuine passion they put into their work.

For sporting activities (guided or individual), this is the right place. Relaxation is also not neglected.
Conclusion: We'll be going back, even though the whole package comes at a price.

Jagdhof is the gold standard :-)
What's offered here is unparalleled. Every detail is lovingly thought out, and you're treated like royalty.
It starts with a warm welcome and a complimentary drink, followed by being escorted to your room to ensure everything is to your liking. The evening menu is discussed daily at breakfast, with incredible dedication to accommodating individual requests of all kinds (including vegan options!). The dishes that are then served are a daily delight and surpass even the best 5-star hotels!
The buffet offerings (breakfast, afternoon snack, and evening salad buffet) are always perfect and appealing. No matter when you arrive, it never looks "raided," and before clearing away, you're asked if you'd like anything else.
If the bed is too hard or too soft, a different mattress topper is brought out. No wish goes unfulfilled :-)
The entire hotel is spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and lovingly designed; not a single corner is overlooked. It's worth mentioning, however, that not the entire hotel has yet been renovated to a modern style. The hotel bar, the spa on the first floor, and, for example, the bathrooms in some rooms are still a bit dated and not entirely modern in style, but they are nonetheless high-quality and in excellent condition. This is easily overlooked! The restaurant, terrace, sky spa, and relaxation room are incredibly stylish!
Every single member of staff makes you feel welcome. No matter what you need, there's always someone there.
The owning family is very present and dedicated, and you can tell they're truly passionate about what they do. To interpret this as a "cult of personality" (as another reviewer suggested) is a very negative view. The family has very successfully created a corporate identity with their name (Pirbauer -> "PiriPiri"). They can be justifiably proud of their hotel!
Since it's not explicitly a family hotel, it's not overcrowded with families, but it's still a great place to vacation with children. Except for a rather secluded playroom in the basement, there are no separate children's areas, but both the indoor and outdoor pools, as well as the whirlpool, are attractive to everyone and are used harmoniously by all guests.
And for those who want to be away from both other people's and their own children, the beautiful adults-only Sky Spa offers a wonderful retreat :-) (Tip: It can also be booked exclusively for evenings!) There, they also offer daily, lovingly presented themed sauna infusions with music and a delicious selection of fruit afterward.
During school holidays, there's even a free childcare program and supervised excursions for children and teenagers.
A major advantage of the hotel is its compact size, especially for groups or families. All areas are close together; you don't have to walk for miles through the complex, and everyone can do what they want while still being together. Relaxing on the comfortable loungers (indoors or outdoors), splashing around in the pool, playing a card game or table tennis, enjoying a cocktail (which you can even order directly to the pool via an app!)... everything is within easy reach.
The free sports program (yoga, aqua fitness, jogging) is absolutely fantastic. Yoga with Ully in the panoramic yoga room is sensational!
In addition, there's a great selection of top-quality, well-maintained rental bikes (regular bikes are free, e-bikes are available for a fee) for children and adults, which are handed out and explained by an incredibly competent and dedicated staff member.
I won't even begin to rave about the Vinschgau Valley itself, the beautiful scenery, and the wonderful weather :-)
Everything is simply perfect. We'll definitely be back often!

We've vacationed at the Jagdhof several times. Each time, it's been a highlight. For biking holidays, the Jagdhof is one of the best addresses in the Vinschgau Valley! The trails around Latsch are simply fantastic. The bike storage room and its service options are exemplary. The suites, especially our favorite, the wellness suite, are simply fantastic! The food was also always a delight. The chefs and their teams do everything to offer their guests an unforgettable vacation. "No, we don't do that, we don't have it," isn't an option at the Jagdhof.

We were a group of ten men and had the pleasure of staying at the Jagdhof. We're certainly not the easiest guests and quite demanding, but the warmth, attentiveness, customer focus, fun, and genuine kindness shown by the team around junior manager Hannes and the grande dame Ruth completely blew us away. This is the pinnacle of hotel management and deserves top marks! Thank you to everyone who made our short break unforgettable. Oh yes, the hotel itself is also very beautiful, the food excellent, and the spa area modern and fantastic – but that almost goes without saying. If you want to experience a wonderful holiday with superb hosts, this is the place to be!

More than a hotel, it's a temple to the Pirhofer family's cult of personality. A quick glance at the official website's homepage immediately reveals what awaits you during your stay: the Piris may seem like attentive hoteliers, as South Tyrolean hospitality demands, but their family branding is over-exposed. Their last name, photos, and effigies are everywhere in the hotel, from the excursion catalog to the bath products. Everything bears the Piri Piri brand, even the air you breathe. A constant family hagiography that becomes cloying by the end of the party. Likewise, Mrs. Pirhofer seems overly intrusive, wandering from table to table during dinner to chat (when perhaps you'd rather enjoy your food in silence) and, between words, asking if you'd like another beer or a glass of wine. A time-honored marketing ploy that can be annoying to those who have worked in tourism or commerce and know how it works. The children and the husband are more discreet (and I'd like to shake their hand because he's proud to say he doesn't even own a tie), but the only thing missing from the reception area, like in the Fantozzi films, is a statue of the dynasty's founder, to which guests must bow upon entering the hotel. And a true hotelier is one who makes his presence felt, but without being too visible.
Moving on to the hotel's amenities, there are some good things and some not so good: the rooms are comfortable, the atmosphere relaxing, the nights are quiet, the beds restful. Dinner is divine, but the portions are more stingy than those at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Another age-old marketing technique comes into play here: a rich buffet of vegetables, salads, and cheeses is offered, so the guest can feel full and have little else to ask for. Even on the plates, expensive meat is reduced to bite-sized pieces, while inexpensive vegetables, whole or pureed in creams and sauces, are plentiful. In any case, the chef's dishes are truly noteworthy and well-balanced, approaching haute cuisine.
The wellness center, however, is disappointing: the separation between the first and fifth floors isn't the most comfortable. The saunas on the first floor are poorly organized: they lack a changing area and a cold pool to soak in after the sauna. The adults-only area on the fifth floor, however, is beautiful, with a panoramic sauna and an infinity hot tub. However, it's only enjoyable when the sun is shining and there's no wind; otherwise, the water is too cold to ensure comfort. The pools on the ground floor, on the other hand, are simply swimming pools, and are intended primarily for families with children. All the staff, including Hannes and Julian, heirs to the throne of the Pirhofer dynasty, are extremely kind, polite, and attentive.
All in all, a good hotel (as long as you overlook the exuberance of the Piri family), a good choice if you want to visit the Val Venosta, cross the border into neighboring Austria and Switzerland, or reach Valtellina via the nearby Stelvio Pass. But definitely not recommended if your goal is a relaxing spa vacation. In that case, you'd be better off choosing another Belvita or Dolce Vita. Piri Piri, everyone!

No hotel could be more lovingly run than the Jagdhof.
You feel completely at home, can relax perfectly, and be pampered by the entire team.
Culinary-wise, this is one of the best hotels I've ever been to, if not the best.
The wines always match the menu, and you could just linger at the bar for hours, the drinks are so good.

It was like coming home. A daily changing and attractive activity and sports program. There's something for everyone, if you like to organize things.
Excellent sleep, great bathroom, beautiful room. Massages that aren't always a given. Beautiful rooftop pool.
You can indulge yourself with culinary delights here, plus a large and excellent wine selection.

We've been there five times already. It was like coming home. A sports hotel with excellent guided hikes and bike tours. The food was first-class and varied. There were various themed evenings; an appetizer or dessert buffet. Katrin, the service staff, is very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything is very professional. The sauna areas are also a hit, but the best is the Sky Lounge with sauna and whirlpool on the fifth floor.

We spent a whole week together with the Pirhofer family at the Hotel Jagdhof. Although we had booked the Hotel Jagdhof for the first time, we immediately had a very good feeling about our choice of hotel and decided to celebrate our wedding there as well. Julian Pirhofer and Stephanie Riedl played a very special role in this event: They were not only our witnesses, but also our on-site wedding planners. Hannes Pirhofer also contributed his expertise and ideas to the planning. We couldn't have imagined a better place than this and no better people to plan our wedding – absolutely perfect and unique. We thank you and everyone else involved from the bottom of our hearts – thank you so much. It was the most wonderful day! Pure goosebumps! The final hours before the wedding, the ceremony itself at the registry office in Latsch, the toast at the hotel and the delicious "Mole Cake" cake of our choice, the photographer's recommendation, the surprises in the hotel room, and especially the evening in the Rooftop Sky Spa area with food and a private "butler" made the day absolutely special and unique for us from start to finish. Both the food and drinks leave nothing to be desired. There's something for everyone. Plenty, regional, top quality, fresh, and, above all, delicious!
No matter who you met at the hotel, everyone had sparkling eyes at all times – thanks to the mandatory face masks. The warmth was palpable at every moment.
The beautiful Rooftop Sky Spa area, with its stunning location surrounded by apple orchards and stunning mountain panorama, deserves special mention. The panoramic sauna, whirlpool, and beautifully furnished relaxation rooms allow for pure relaxation! The additional relaxation rooms, including the hotel's sauna area with a Finnish outdoor sauna, herbal bath, steam bath, and much more, as well as the Jacuzzi, indoor pool, outdoor pool, and many other highlights, simply perfectly complement a vacation at the Hotel Jagdhof!
We had already booked treatments/massages in the in-house beauty center for almost every day of the week. The girls in the beauty center are amazing! Every single body treatment (hot stone massage, various back massages, Lomi Lomi Nui, Ayurvedic massage, detox treatments, and much more) was an experience. Thank you for the wonderful moments of relaxation. At this point, I'd also like to sincerely thank Hildegard and Stefanie for the amazing makeup for the wedding – you did it beautifully! High praise!
The beautiful rooms with comfortable beds are also stylishly and modernly furnished. The cleanliness of the ENTIRE hotel is particularly noteworthy. Whether it's the restaurant, the rooms, the bar, the sauna/pool area, the outdoor facilities... – the entire hotel complex is in excellent condition!
This was certainly not our last stay at the Hotel Jagdhof. We're already looking forward to seeing you again!!! Hopefully, see you very soon!!!
