We stayed at the Gassenhof for four nights.
Our room (Achillea) in the Gassenloge was very good (except for the rather hard bed) and equipped with everything we needed. The view was magnificent.
The staff were always friendly and welcoming.
The food was excellent, and they accommodated our special requests.
The spa area and the sauna infusions were also fantastic.
The fitness room was in excellent condition.
We were completely satisfied. Thank you to the entire team!

Our stay at Hotel Gassenhof was absolutely perfect. We spent a few truly wonderful days there, and everything exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, beautifully prepared, and felt like fine dining every day. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful — even though most of the guests spoke German, they made a real effort to translate everything into English for us, including the menu.
The pool and sauna area were outstanding, definitely a 10/10, and the surrounding landscape was simply breathtaking. Our room had everything we needed and even more: a hiking backpack, an umbrella, a pool bag, bathrobes, and slippers. Since we stayed at the Chalet Gratznhausl, we also had our own private sauna, which was an amazing bonus.
Everything was spotless, very well organized, and the hotel offers plenty of excursions and activities. It was a dream experience from start to finish, and we will definitely return soon!

A magical place with an incredible view of the Dolomites... a very clean, spacious room in perfect mountain style, including two terraces. The complimentary fresh water and local apples were very welcome! Private parking is available on-site, very convenient! The hotel's common areas, all in wood and stone, are fantastic, impeccably clean, and the staff is very attentive and knowledgeable! The property features a spa and a very beautiful indoor pool, a second spa on the top floor, a heated outdoor whirlpool, and a spectacular infinity pool with mountain views that alone is worth the price of the stay! The dinner was very good, and the breakfast was both delicious and varied... everything you could want is there! Excellent location! Highly recommended!

From parents to son to son's children, meaning from the nearly 80-year-old to the teenager, three generations of us regularly visit the Gassenhof! Basically, no further words are needed to express how wonderful it is for us there. And yet – the Gassenhof is for us:

Anyone who doesn't lose track of time and escape the world while enjoying the breathtaking views over the valley has only themselves to blame!

A truly beautiful hotel with an infinity pool offering fantastic views of the valley and mountains. The food is excellent, and the service is both extremely friendly and professional. You can start hiking directly from the hotel or take the public bus right outside to other hiking trails. This hotel embodies many of the reasons why so many people visit South Tyrol (again and again).

Very modern hotel. With delicious food and drinks. The wellness area is adequate and partly new. We felt very comfortable. The food is super delicious!!!! And the staff are super friendly and always helpful. Especially the lady with the dark brown hair and bangs, who usually wears her hair tied back (unfortunately, I don't remember her name), was particularly special at dinner. Her charisma is infectious and she's just super friendly.
The children are a bit stressful. But I think it's quite cool for families. We would come back if it were an adults-only hotel.
Otherwise, highly recommended and also for couples without children, if the screaming children aren't too annoying.

The absolute best hotel experience. We felt so comfortable. In addition to the wonderful room (Gratznhäusl), which is almost like an apartment, the excellent food, and the incredibly great service, attention is paid to every little detail, making it such a special experience. A fantastic hotel with outstanding cuisine. The half-board menu is prepared and presented at Michelin-star level. Gault Millaut could pin a few toques on the door and Michelin a star on the menu. Creative cuisine, expertly prepared and presented to the plate.
Very attentive, friendly service; a little more explanation of the details on the plate would have topped the performance even further.
If you don't just want good food, you'll also find a great place here. Overall, a very beautiful, individually designed hotel complex with great attention to detail and architectural creativity. Anyone who enjoys architecture will also be amazed here.
Several swimming pools and sports areas, as well as the spa area, make the Gassenhof a top address. You'll encounter very attentive and friendly staff everywhere.
The heated infinity pool on the roof of the Gassenloge is truly amazing. Swimming here on a cold morning with the very impressive backdrop of the mountains in front of you is amazing.
The hotel also offers a good program of indoor and outdoor activities, and more.
You can feel everywhere that the hosts are a family of passionate hoteliers.
I would recommend the hotel to good friends at any time and would gladly return.

We had an all-around fantastic stay!
The location is simply stunning, and the hotel is absolutely dog-friendly – our four-legged friend was welcome everywhere. The rooms are modern, stylish, and very comfortably furnished. We were particularly impressed with breakfast and dinner: a great selection, fresh, varied, and of the highest quality.
The spa is a real highlight – the infusions were first-class and provided total relaxation (special thanks to Sandra for persuading us to try them). The entire hotel staff also deserves high praise: from the cleaning staff to the waitresses and receptionists, everyone was incredibly warm, helpful, and attentive.
We had a separate dog area for our meals, which was not only practical but also provided a great opportunity to meet other dog owners. The wine tasting was also an experience, and the weekly specials are truly attractive.
All in all, we wished we could have stayed longer – we didn't want to leave. Highly recommended!

We spent three days at the hotel.
The concept is unparalleled and almost impossible to surpass in terms of perfection.
Reception:
Extremely friendly, all relevant information perfectly explained.
Check-in and check-out in 1 minute! That's how I love it, without endless forms to fill out.
The underground parking garage is ingeniously designed for the hotel; someone put a lot of thought into it. From the parking lot to the room in 30 seconds, brilliant.
Everything was extremely clean.
We had a premium room, the view was magnificent. The room was modern and comfortable. The bed was fantastic. The rain shower was perfect.
The wellness area was incredibly cozy, the pool with the view was also fantastic. The whirlpool was also beautifully situated in the greenery.
It's an ingenious solution that you enter the other building via a tunnel; the corridor with the wine cellar is simply beautiful; it was a pleasure to walk through it every time.
The food was very good. A small 5-course menu, which fits the concept, but also offers the option of changing dishes.
The dishes were really very good, though.
The buffet's selection of cheeses and other local delicacies was very good.
The staff was consistently "professional" and "friendly."
The high-quality wine selection is fantastic.
My friend celebrated her milestone birthday here; flowers ordered the day before and even a cake were arranged by the hotel. Thank you again for that.
The only small thing that would have made me happier would have been the morning of the birthday, when the table could have been more decorated. I had requested this the day before.
There was a candle there with two servings, but my expectations were different.
All in all, probably the best hotel with the best concept we've been to so far.

We stayed here for 5 days. A wonderful place with great care and attention to guests. We opted for half-board, and everything was perfect, from breakfast to dinner, which varied daily. Both the hotel and the pools and saunas were extremely clean. There were many options for daily activities and tastings. The tranquility and relaxation we needed were just what we needed.
I really appreciate the app for managing all your activities directly from your phone. I also recommend the Mount Becher distillery, just a couple of kilometers from the hotel.

This is our second visit in two years and we're thrilled again. The rooms are great, the wellness area is nice and large, and there's plenty of space in the relaxation area (which is unfortunately not the case in many hotels). The rooftop pool is also a highlight. Breakfast and dinner are also excellent; you really don't lack for anything, and our every wish was fulfilled. And in my opinion, that's what's truly outstanding: the service. The staff is super (!!!) personable and friendly, and they take such great and attentive care of the guests. A huge compliment and thank you! You also get the feeling that the atmosphere within the team is really great. We saw a lot of familiar faces again, which, for me, shows that the working atmosphere is very good, and you notice that as a guest too! (High staff turnover is certainly an issue in many other hotels.) We always enjoy coming back, whether summer or winter.

I'm already a regular guest at this hotel. The staff is very friendly; you can talk to them as if you were chatting with friends. You won't go hungry or thirsty because the waiters are always very attentive. The food is really special and delicious. . A super nice hotel complex with plenty of options for camping, an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, two whirlpools, and several saunas. Most of the food and drinks are home-made, and there are many hiking opportunities.

Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed. The two saunas were far apart and not easy to find. The cooling pool was very tiny and too cold. I liked the swimming pool. The sauna terrace area was missing parasols. What was really good was the yoga class and the infusion with Sandra, very professional!
The food was good, but sometimes too salty.
The breakfast buffet had a large selection of breads and cereals, but almost no cakes.
The staff was nice and friendly.

This time, I won't write a book about this wonderful hotel. For us, the Gassenhof was simply PERFECT. A family-run hotel that lives for its guests, their hotel, and much more. Until now, the Hotel "Schöne Aussicht" in Hochsölden was our first choice in the summer. In terms of tranquility, Hochsölden can't be beaten in the summer. The Gassenhof, however, is different overall and slipped to first place for us, pushing the "Schöne Aussicht" down to second. It should also be said that the Gassenhof can probably accommodate four times as many guests. Many things are equally good. Modern, luxurious. Lots of wood. Close your eyes and let your senses discover this magic. These are emotions/feelings of happiness. The Gassenhof and its surroundings, all the way from Brixen to Bolzano and south, are made for e-bikers. It couldn't be better. Hochsölden is a bit "too much." Only downhill riding down the mountains. You have to like that and be able to do it on a mountain bike. At the Gassenhof, you can experience almost every hill and mountain with the e-bikes. Truly fantastic, and yet another point for the diversity of the Gassenhof and its surroundings. In bad weather—and unfortunately, we had that for almost the entire week at the beginning of June 2025 at the Gassenhof—you simply ride 40 kilometers south toward Bressanone, and we were out of the bad, gray weather. It was unbelievable. There's a kind of weather boundary there. When we reached the Bressanone area, there were blue skies and 30 degrees Celsius. For days! The cycle paths along the Eisack River to Bolzano, parallel to the Brenner motorway, are an experience. The cycle paths are better than the roads, I'd say. From Bolzano, you can also cycle along the Adige River all the way down to Lake Garda. Past Kaltern, Tramin, and Trento. Simply amazing. Back to the Gassenhof. The day with Stefan (owner together with Manni) on their alpine pasture was probably the highlight of the entire holiday for most guests. Oh yes...I don't want to rave too much here. Otherwise, the hotel will eventually be too full. Unfortunately, it is the way it is. The food at the Gassenhof alone is amazing. And much of it is made by the owners themselves in their gourmet restaurant. For me, South Tyrol, in culinary terms, means: cheese, speck, wine, schnapps!!! I'll leave that at that for the Gassenhof. Stefan...the day on the mountain pasture will be unforgettable!!! Your invitation alone shows your love and warmth for your guests and what you live and breathe. Gassenhof has become our number 1...thank you so much for this time...

South Tyrol, an arduous journey, was it worth it?
Gassenhof was recommended to us by a friend, so we booked a week at this hotel. 2 people + dog.
The reception is friendly upon arrival; those who have to wait for their room receive a welcome drink and can explore the area briefly if they wish. (Tip: If you want to stretch your legs with your dog, a small path leads to the next village on the left of the next house down the street from the hotel. If you came without a dog and have time, you should take a look around the hotel grounds and explore.)
The entire stay turned out to be very pleasant; many guests we struck up conversations with are repeat visitors and/or are coming from South Tyrol for a few days themselves.
Everything went smoothly on our departure; we returned home in the evening after dinner. Next time, instead of paying for an extra day, we would inquire about late checkout and what options we had. (It's available, you just have to check until when.)
Why the Gassenhof, of all places?
You get a lot for your money. I've never seen any other hotel of this size that offered such a large sauna area, two pools you could actually swim in, as well as pleasant common areas for children, for example, or the lounge to wind down in the evening, and certainly not with long opening hours. Furthermore, the billing is very transparent from the start; you can check your expenses directly on your smartphone. The food is fantastic, both at breakfast and dinner, brilliant. Not only is there a huge variety, but you can also order seconds whenever you want.
Is the Gassenhof worth it?

Exceptionally friendly, competent, attentive, and humorous service and bar staff.
We stayed here for a week, and the hotel program was varied and appealing.
I particularly enjoyed the yoga class on Friday.
Well-being yoga room, great lesson, the sun that helps you train, and the fantastic view.
The hotel is surrounded by beautiful mountains and green meadows, pure nature!
Great hiking opportunities in the surrounding area.
Beautiful, modern, clean room with a wood-effect finish, including the scent of pine.
The kitchen and the extensive breakfast buffet also leave nothing to be desired.
We ate very, very well this week! :)
The hotel is very clean, the rooms are attractive and conducive to well-being.
The wellness area is also not neglected, with a great infinity pool and whirlpool.
We traveled with our dog, and everything was top-notch here too.

A week of fantastic vacation at the Gassenhof is sadly coming to an end. I think it's difficult for me to describe this place and find the right words.
I'll start with the staff, because so much depends on them. The entire team, from reception to the restaurant, to the sauna and wellness area, and even the housekeeping ladies, are incredibly friendly and highly motivated. You arrive and immediately feel at home. (A huge thank you to everyone! ️)
Now, about the hotel. The food is a delight every single day. What the kitchen conjures up is simply amazing. (Thank you so much for that, too!)
The rooms are a dream, and the wellness area with its countless saunas and relaxation areas is top-notch. (Guess the sauna infusions! ️ They're simply fantastic!)
You shouldn't miss the massage and beauty treatments either.
The massage and beauty services are also not to be missed. Anyone who doesn't switch off and enjoy themselves here is definitely doing something wrong.
Now for the downsides.
The TV remote batteries died on the third day , but it wasn't a big deal. I just relaxed in the room's outdoor whirlpool. So, no star deduction!

We spent a weekend at this property to celebrate my birthday. Needless to say, we were pampered from start to finish. The staff was excellent and available at all times.
The dinner was excellent, both the buffet and especially the dishes served at the table, an explosion of perfectly balanced flavors.

We returned to this hotel after three years and, like three years ago, we are more than satisfied. The welcome was perfect, the food excellent and high-quality, the breakfast rich and abundant. We stayed in a spacious and well-furnished Dolomite room. Both the room and the common areas were very clean. There are two swimming pools, one indoor and one infinity. If I had to find a flaw, I would appreciate it if, for those like me who are not very familiar with the world of saunas, there was a signposted and explained route... we will definitely return.

My family and I have stayed at this beautiful hotel many times in the past. We returned after the renovation, and I must say it has improved dramatically. The room we stayed in (the Dolomiti) was all wood and very welcoming. The wellness center is beautiful, even in the new section, including the very peaceful panoramic outdoor pool. I'd like to compliment the Aufgussmeister, Sandra, who is very talented. Breakfast and dinner were very good (as a meat eater, I appreciated the vegetarian evening). I will definitely return to this hotel.

There were three of us, a couple and our dog, and we can highly recommend the Gassenhof!
From arrival to departure, we were pampered throughout. The dog-friendly atmosphere began at check-in with delicious dog treats – Idefix clearly felt at home!
The ladies at the reception were extremely friendly and helpful; even when things got a bit dicey, they kept their cool and handled everything discreetly.
The entire hotel complex (or rather, the Gassenhof) was spotlessly clean, whether in the rooms, the hallways, the spa, or even on the street.
The lavish breakfast buffet and the wonderful positivity of Anita and the breakfast ladies always ensured a fantastic start to the day!
In the evening, we were pampered by Margit, who is clearly an expert in her field, which also delights gastronomers.
The spa area was a dream! Carmen, Sophie, Marzia, and Sandra are true professionals and pampered us wonderfully.
I must not forget to give a big compliment to the entire kitchen team! The food was a true delight – beautifully presented, varied, and simply delicious.
After our evening excursions, we enjoyed a nightcap at Lorenz's bar. His in-depth expertise made every drink special.

The hotel is truly fantastic. The staff and managers are truly kind and very friendly. Everyone is enthusiastic and has fun. The saunas, steam baths, and pools are truly beautiful and inviting.
The food here is also truly outstanding, especially the dessert buffet, which was absolutely amazing. We discovered the hotel by chance and now have a new favorite.
Even my birthday was celebrated with beautiful table decorations, a candle, a small gift, and congratulations from the staff and managers.
Perhaps the mattresses could have been a bit softer, but that's nitpicking at an extremely high level; the hotel is truly fantastic.

An incredibly fabulous hotel and certainly one of the most beautiful holidays we've ever experienced. Everything about this place is truly perfect: the wellness area, the outstanding food, the rooms, but above all, the outstanding service, which stands out with its incredible friendliness and attentiveness, deserves special mention. It was also very nice to see how well the waiters and service staff got along with each other, and you could just tell that the employees enjoy working at this hotel.

Exceptional experience! I found practically nothing to dislike! The reception staff were friendly, always available and smiling, very courteous and professional. The food was excellent, and the organization was excellent, even for me who requested a lactose-free menu. Everything was spectacular. The outdoor pool at 33C and the whirlpool at 37C, both with views of the valley and snow-capped mountains. There are so many saunas, Turkish baths, pools, and relaxation areas that there are only one or two couples at a time, making the experience even more relaxing. There's a guide who organizes a different walk or experience every day. Huge rooms with umbrellas and backpacks for free use. The only slightly questionable things are the spa's opening time at 1 pm and the guide's absence on Saturdays and Sundays. Pricey, but money well spent! I'd love to return in the summer!

Our stay was simply fantastic! From the very first minute, we felt welcome and well-cared for. The hotel combines luxury, comfort, and warm hospitality at the highest level.
The wellness area is a real highlight – modern, spacious, and with breathtaking views of the mountains. We were particularly impressed by the infinity pool and the various saunas, which guarantee pure relaxation.
The food was a delight! From the extensive breakfast buffet to the exquisite dinner menu – everything was perfectly coordinated and prepared with great attention to detail. Regional ingredients and creative dishes made every meal a special experience.
The entire team is incredibly friendly and attentive. You can tell they put their heart and soul into their work. The blend of modern elegance and Alpine charm makes the Gassenhof a place you'll want to return to again and again.
An absolute dream hotel for anyone who wants to combine relaxation, enjoyment, and nature. We will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend the Gassenhof adventure resort!

Good hotel with good value for money. Very good food. It was our first time there and we had trouble finding our room. Only after asking were we offered an escort. The winding building made it difficult to find our way around straight away. What we really didn't like was the layout of the wellness area—one part in the new building and the other in the main building—meaning we had to walk through the entire hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. There are certainly better hotels in South Tyrol in this price range.

Absolutely outstanding! Incredibly warm, friendly staff who are flexible and responsive to guests' requests. The evening menu, as well as breakfast, far exceeded our expectations; the selection and preparation were excellent! The highly dedicated family who run the hotel keeps everything up to date and is very creative, for example, with their own distillery for liqueurs and gin. We've already booked for next year!

This was our fourth stay at the beautiful Gassenhof, and as always, it was simply wonderful!
We received a warm welcome upon arrival, and check-in was quick and easy. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and always helpful.
Our room was very comfortably furnished, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The hotel was impeccably clean, and the bathroom was also well-equipped.
The breakfast buffet was a dream – a wide selection of fresh, regional products that will truly make any heart beat faster. Dinner in the hotel's restaurant was also excellent. The dishes were creative and delicious.
The wellness area was a welcome respite after a day outdoors. The sauna and pool perfectly rounded off the day. The sauna masters give their all, so you won't want to miss a single infusion.
The hotel's location is also ideal for excursions in the surrounding area.
I highly recommend the Hotel Gassenhof and am already looking forward to our next stay!

They paid close attention to what pregnant women are allowed to eat, and we were given alternatives right away.

I don't need to say anything more about the hotel and its food. Simply fantastic! The service and the courtesy are indescribable. We had to leave a day early for personal reasons and were totally surprised at how easily and quickly it was arranged. Everything, as described, consistently good.
We have been coming back to this beautiful hotel for many years.
Arriving is now like "coming home." After the drive, get out, take a deep breath, enjoy the fresh air, and relaxation begins.
The new building, the Gassenloge, with its beautiful view of the valley, has made the hotel even more attractive.
The business has grown over the years, but the friendliness and approachability of the hoteliers and staff has not changed. At the Gassenhof, you can have what you want: peace and quiet or action, thanks to the diverse offerings such as guided hikes, sports activities, two sauna areas, a spa, and offers at the new Mount Becher Gourmet House.
The hotel's new Gourmet House is located a short distance towards the village of Ridnaun, and a visit and the guided tour offered are worthwhile. The schnapps distillery, which began as part of the hotel, was expanded to include a brewery and is now combined with a cheese dairy and coffee roastery in the Genusshaus (a gourmet house).
The daily six-course menus, including vegetarian options, rounded off by culinary theme nights and the option to order alternatives such as schnitzel with fries, leave little to be desired.
In our opinion, hoteliers Manni and Stefan are true jack-of-all-trades, always coming up with new ideas and an indomitable energy for the benefit of the company and thus also of their guests.

Beautiful location midway through the Ridanna Valley; the rooms in the Gassenloge (the newest part) are very beautiful, comfortable, and offer panoramic views.
The dining area is thoughtfully divided to avoid excessive noise, and the renovated areas are truly pleasant, even if they lack views.
Spacious sauna areas (2) feature the aesthetics of the one in the Gassenloge and, in the main building, the distiller's sauna; the program of treatments in the Turkish bath and aufguss in the saunas is excellent.
I would have preferred to find the necessary towels in the sauna areas, so as to avoid having to carry my bag and towels from my room, but every morning we found a replacement for the towels left after the previous day's saunas.
The infinity pool is very nice, although not the largest, while the outdoor whirlpool was often too crowded to even consider using it.
The Wi-Fi connection needs to be improved, as in our rooms in the Gassenloge it only rarely had a weak signal.
The hotel boasts of being able to accommodate any dietary needs, but during our stay, a member of my group who is undergoing a detox regimen for multiple intolerances encountered several challenges. In short, it involved eating simply prepared foods, without added fats or sugars, and excluding pork and some vegetables.
However, there were numerous challenges (including communication difficulties with those who didn't speak Italian well), and in the end, we often dined elsewhere (without encountering any difficulties).
Regardless of the specific issue, however, the cuisine didn't meet the group's tastes, which was ultimately a good thing, because otherwise it might have been more difficult to agree on the additional cost (given that the hotel has a mandatory half-board option, with no refund, even a token one, for the cost of meals not consumed).
It was precisely this dissatisfaction with the dinner that led me to award 4 stars, which I consider generous, to a property that would otherwise have been to my liking.
Furthermore, those traveling with electric cars should pay close attention to the charging stations in the parking lot.
I don't think it depends on the hotel (even if it's a service), but on the charging provider: they're quite slow (some more than others), and on several occasions the charging time exceeded the entire night.
Elsewhere, it might work fine, but not here: pay attention to the additional costs (wasting a few extra seconds on your app) and you'll discover that, although the hotel doesn't charge parking fees, the charging station operator applies extra fees per session (€0.90) and per hour of parking (it's listed as a "cost rate" on the app, and after three hours, it's €6.12 per hour).
In short, we didn't notice it the first few times, and before leaving we couldn't help it, but we ended up paying more in extra fees than charging.

We stayed there for three days.
First point:
The rooms were very good and equipped with top-of-the-line technology. They were very spacious and beautiful. The overall ambiance of the hotel was also well-executed and looked very appropriate.
The staff were quite friendly and accommodating.
However, the service was sometimes not what one would expect.
Upon arrival, our luggage wasn't brought to our room, which is something one would expect in a hotel of this price range, and this continued throughout the entire stay. The fact that there was no laundry bag in the room is also not good for a hotel that advertises itself as a spa and luxury establishment. Despite this, some things one would expect from a wellness/luxury hotel were missing.
The food also didn't live up to expectations. While almost all requests were fulfilled, the food often didn't taste good. This started at breakfast, where the fruit offered was of awful quality, and this was consistent with everything except the meat and cheese.
... There wasn't a good selection of dishes; it was a set menu that could be slightly customized, but offered very little variety. The desserts were the same. The crème brûlée didn't have a sugar topping. The waffles weren't crispy, the cannoli didn't taste good, and the tiramisu was really bad. It's a lot of small things, but they still make a difference. However, the hotel's location was very nice, and the view from the outdoor pool was lovely. So, the location was excellent.

Upon arrival, there was a "normal greeting"—no words of congratulations.
A small bottle of champagne was waiting for us in the room as a surprise. It was sweet, but in our opinion, it was meager (especially since it was warm and felt so squeezable when opened that half of it fell on the floor). Other hotels decorate the room or offer a small snack box or a small massage.
Unfortunately, despite the announcement and request to manage the booking using the married name and to be addressed by the guest's name—it didn't work out. There was confusion and parallel bookings—a real shame!
We were very happy with the room. It was cozy and quiet, clean, and pleasant.
We had booked a whirlpool, but the water was unfortunately lukewarm, so we were cold, and when it rained, you were at its mercy. A real shame.
The food was fantastic—but as a vegetarian, there wasn't much variety.
Salad as a starter and salad as a main course. One main course was warm, the other four were cold. And despite being a 4-star hotel, only one waitress refilled our drinks.
The massages were very pleasant – unfortunately, they didn't ask about any off-limits areas (pain, etc.).
There are numerous excursions and activities, which we skipped due to bad weather and family visiting.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, pleasant, and cheerful.
All in all, we really enjoyed it, but unfortunately, we were a little disappointed with the service.

My daughter and I visited South Tyrol for the first time and immediately stayed at a very nice hotel. The surroundings and location were simply stunning. I couldn't have wished for anything better. The hotel is very well-maintained and the owner and his staff are very friendly. The food was delicious. The wellness and spa area are very nice and you can relax very well; even on a rainy day it doesn't get boring. I highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely come back.

The Gassenhof is a must-recommend!
My wife has been coming here since she was a child, when it was still a small inn. This was the third time we stayed together to enjoy our vacation.
The rooms are modern and stylishly furnished and have a magnificent view. The food is varied, always delicious, and lovingly prepared, served by very attentive staff in a pleasant atmosphere. Perfect! The wine list is huge with a top selection of regional wines. The higher-priced wines are particularly reasonably priced.
A varied program of activities is offered throughout the week. The pool and whirlpool are wonderful places to relax in the fresh air after a day of skiing.
Despite the high standards, they manage to create an atmosphere that isn't too formal. Simply a place to feel at home! We'll be back.

The hotel is in a very good location, with a fantastic view of the valley (a table in the hotel's winter garden for dinner is recommended).
The staff was always attentive and very friendly; we felt very well looked after.
The food was adapted to our special requests (allergies and vegan lifestyle) for a small surcharge.
It was always varied and excellent.
Our accommodation at the Gratznhäusl was very homey and cozy; it matched the photos on the hotel's website and exuded a wonderful woody scent.
The wellness area is divided into two sections, one in the main building and one in the annex, connected by a tunnel.

Stunning spa with huge relaxation rooms, some with views of the Dolomites... even one sauna was glass-enclosed, so you could enjoy the view outside.
What can I say? It was our first time at this hotel, and we'll be back soon.

The wellness area is beautiful, inviting, and simply delightful. The spa treatments are highly recommended and are complemented by a wonderful view of the valley. Our room was enormous, superbly equipped, always clean, and simply fantastic. Breakfast and dinner speak for themselves; they were simply sensational. Every day offered fresh, regional, and delicious food. And if there wasn't anything to suit our taste, there were always incredibly tasty classic dishes available! The Gassenhof comes highly recommended, and we will definitely be back!

Just relaxing and unwinding for my birthday. That was our goal when booking at the Gassenhof.
A bit out of the way and easily accessible by car. Exactly what we wanted. To unwind and get away from the city.
The rooms with mountain views from the bed are wonderful. You won't miss anything.
The breakfast and dinner are meticulously prepared and offer something for everyone.
We also specifically chose the Gassenhof because they "only" serve breakfast and dinner. The whole all-inclusive meal plan just doesn't suit our type of vacation. Eating all day long—who can do that? :-D
Two meals a day are perfectly sufficient. We were very pleasantly surprised, especially with dinner.
Only minor improvements were made. Like listening carefully to extras. Instead of a Swiss pine pillow, we were first given a "normal" pillow. Then our pillows were taken away, and we were left with almost only one Swiss pine pillow.
But that was quickly resolved.
This certainly won't be our last visit.
PS: The sauna infusions are amazing. Really good, and the staff are authentic. You can tell they're having fun and enjoying themselves.

The reception staff deserve special praise, as does René at the bar.
I've stayed in other hotels of the same or higher caliber in the area, but they are unbeatable in their ability to engage their guests in activities and events organized specifically to enhance the conviviality among the guests.
The cuisine is excellent, capable of accommodating allergies, celiac disease, and lactose intolerance without making these guests feel different from the others.
The outdoor infinity pool is splendid, the relaxation rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the bar is a perfect showcase of the area that welcomes us.

Great Food:

Good Hiking Offer:
For nature enthusiasts, the hotel's location offers access to some nice hiking trails, with fantastic guides Sandra and Walther.
Nice Brewery:
The on-site brewery was a unique touch. We had the chance to savor some excellent, locally brewed beers, and gins which added to the overall experience of staying at Gassenhof.
Efficient Cleaning:
One thing that stood out was the daily room cleaning service. The staff's attention to detail ensured that our room remained clean and inviting throughout our stay. It was reassuring to know that the team at Gassenhof takes cleanliness seriously.
Dog-Friendly:
we had our furry companion with us on this trip, and we was delighted to find that the hotel is truly dog-friendly. They not only accommodated our pet but also had dedicated areas and services for our four-legged friends.
Improvement Suggestion:
If there's one area for improvement, it would be to encourage a "digital detox" in the spa areas. While the spa is meant for relaxation, some guests were phoning loudly and taking pictures in the sauna, which disrupted the tranquil and private atmosphere. Implementing a policy to discourage this behavior would ensure an even more peaceful experience for all guests.

This was our first time at the Gassenhof and we were thoroughly satisfied. The room in the lodge was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. The bed was truly amazing; I've rarely slept so well in a hotel bed. The wellness area was also excellent and ultra-modern. I would especially like to highlight the restaurant; all the service was super fast, and the food was truly delicious. There's a daily changing menu that you can order one course at a time. There are many activities to choose from at the reception area. The view from the balcony is truly unique; you can't get enough of it. There's plenty of parking.

A friend told me about the Gassenhof. I was pleasantly surprised by the pictures and the website. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a cup of coffee on the terrace. The room was a 12/10. Clean, comfortable, and a dream view. Before I saw anything else, I went into the pool. The infinity pool was simply fantastic.
Dinner, the 5-course menu, was my absolute highlight. WOW. Fresh and prepared with love.

Superb. I use this adjective to describe every aspect of this property. The view of the valley from the room (with a large terrace) alone would be worthy of a 5* rating. But the room, its layout, and the materials used (I like to emphasize the prevalence of wood) are equally outstanding. What can I say about the spa... between saunas, the necessary relaxation in rooms with "BEST-IN-CLASS" views and atmospheres, pools, and dedicated outdoor spaces, the afternoons were entirely dedicated to ourselves! Worth mentioning is the skill and friendliness of the sauna instructors, who introduced us to new experiences (all yet to be discovered).
Just one note. At the end of July, the majority of guests are still of German origin, and therefore, I think certain foods and combinations are much more pleasing to them than to Italian palates...
On the other hand, the buffets, both for breakfast and dinner, are still a real treat!
A note: don't be upset if you're charged €3.50 for a carafe of tap water (even sparkling water)... it's become a standard practice at this level of accommodation!
On the other hand, you'll always have a coffee machine in your room, with pods replenished daily.
It was an extremely positive experience that I hope to experience again soon.

The only flaw in my opinion is that for a double room, so a double bed, they gave us two single duvets to put on the bed, so not very practical, since there were two of us sleeping next to each other, when you turned over in bed one of the two was exposed... But this is just a small flaw that perhaps would have been corrected if I had asked for a change, but I didn't want to disturb anyone over such a trivial matter. Otherwise, I had a great time, the view from the room was amazing.

The location is very convenient, both for reaching the center of Vipiteno and for reaching Austria. The value for money is in no way 4*S... the service is a disaster... as a group, we probably would have sold twice as much..., but we constantly had to pray for a refill of wine; we were chased away from the table after breakfast and dinner; the 6-course meal was crammed into our mouths in about 1.5 hours, the reason being: the kitchen wants to close at 10:00 a.m.! Even though the reception said you could come for dinner anytime until 8:30 p.m.! It seemed as if the staff were already mentally on vacation! Not exactly professional....

Simply thrilled across the board! This has been a hotel for a long time that simply leaves nothing to be desired. The underground parking garage is large and offers enough space for both "regular" and electric cars.
Very friendly reception. The rooms are very spacious and comfortably furnished. Visually and comfortably, top! The preheated jacuzzi on the balcony was the icing on the cake.
The infinity pool is a dream place to relax and lose track of time. It's extremely clean and you feel very comfortable. Only hotel guests, so there's a pleasant number of people. Not overcrowded.
The restaurant and wine cellar are a must for every connoisseur. Our 5-course menu and the buffet were simply WOW!

The wellness offerings (sauna, pools, beauty treatments, massages, relaxation areas) were overwhelming and more than generous.
The panoramic views are incredibly enchanting.
The service staff were very professional, friendly, almost familial, very accommodating, and always helpful and pleasant.
You felt welcome and appreciated from the very first moment.
If you book half board, you get an incredibly huge breakfast selection (mega), and in the evening, an excellent culinary explosion of flavors and textures with first-class products spread over 6 courses, all at Michelin-star level.
In the bar area, everyone will find something they like; there's nothing you could miss here, and if there's something you'd like, almost nothing is impossible.
I was fortunate enough to experience 4 wonderful days there with every imaginable beautiful moment, relaxation, and pure joy.
For the first time, I experienced wellness and enjoyment of such quality.
Next year I'll be back, already booked and now 11 months 25 days of anticipation

A modern, well-maintained hotel with excellent food, including breakfast, lunch, and the evening menu. The hotel also impresses with its very friendly staff and attentive chefs. You quickly feel "at home." The hotel is family-friendly, but also suitable for couples without children. We were there with our children (14 and 7 years old), and they were very sad when we had to go home. Highly recommended!

A bit of a disappointing experience for our stay last week at Gassenhof. I have been to several hotels in South Tyrol and here the service, and especially the food is not up to the standards for an italian customer.
Starting from the check in, the receptionist did not provide much information and we had to ask about breakfast, spa and cake hours.
The layout of the hotel is not ideal as it has an old area as well as a new one, with the spa split between the two buildings, the new area is quite limited to a sauna and a turkish bad plus outdoor pool.
The afternoon cake service was limited to first come, first served with no fruit served (only a small plate of watermelon, insufficient for all guests)
The dinner service had a salad buffet, every day with exactly the same limited choice of vegetables, with some of the stuff that was clearly recycled from the previous days. The menu is nice but not good from an execution point of view (lots of tasted that dont get well along), the charges for a liter of water from the tub at EUR4,5 definitely excessive!!
Breakfast offering was fine but again, not exceptional.
Rooms were ok, we chose the renovated ones with wood on the floor.
In general, i enjoyed the stay but wont be back as price/quality is not in line with other hotels in the province.

This was one of the best hotel experiences of my life. The food was excellent, the staff very kind! They have a gym, a yoga room, multiple saunas and two pools. It might not be the ideal hotel to bring kids to though. During the week the hotel offers ca. One group hike/day that I can only recommend to join as well as sauna infusions, on some days there are also mindfulness exercises or other activities you can join. The rooms are big, with a nice simple decor.
I simply can’t agree with some of the reviews about it not being a special place or that the staff would be unkind…
They are so accommodating!

We spent a wonderful weekend of total relaxation. The spa, now enhanced by the Gassenloge and the wonderful outdoor infinity pool, with views of the snow-capped mountains and the enveloping steam, fully satisfies all the senses.
A pleasant new addition is the full salt, coffee, and yogurt scrub in the Turkish bath for incredibly purified skin, and the steam infusions in the grappa sauna are not to be missed. In fact, given the large influx of people, it would be wonderful if they were also offered in the new Gassenloge. The gourmet cuisine is always top-notch; the Italian translation of the menu could be improved.

The one-star review is truly high. Normally, I would have deducted only half a star.
Here are a few points of criticism:
Service on the terrace area in front of the hotel could be faster. Often, you're the only guest sitting there, yet you still don't get served for a long time. Even if there are a few guests and you sit further back, you sometimes have to wait quite a long time.
The relaxation area in the sauna (by the indoor pool) is quite cold. A little warmer would be nice, or the provision of blankets would be great. Unfortunately, they don't even exist there. I think they're part of the experience for proper relaxation.
It's a shame that the pools close at 7 p.m. With the scenery, a later swim in the infinity outdoor pool would be absolutely lovely. The sauna's opening hours from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. could also be open earlier or later.
We stayed at the Gratzenhäusl, which meant we always had to walk a bit to the hotel. That's not a problem at all, as towels and bathrobes are provided. However, only at the indoor pool. An additional bathrobe and towel at the outdoor infinity pool would have been great, as we almost exclusively used that.
We really wanted to participate in the wine tasting. Unfortunately, it wasn't taking place. That was a real shame.
Personally, I exercise every day. In addition to the hikes, a daily exercise program would be great. Here, too, only high-level criticism. Yoga, circuit training, etc. are offered, just not every day. Furthermore, a little variation within the individual classes (different exercises on different days) wouldn't hurt.
Now for the positive:
Service is truly a priority. No matter what question or concern you have, they respond immediately. Even if you have requests for changes or specific allergies or preferences... everything is taken into account here: lactose-free, gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.
The food is amazing. Every dish in the daily 5-course menu is a poem in itself. The chef is very funny and personable. The creations are simply dreamy. We were particularly blown away by the main courses and the incredible dessert buffet on Saturdays. The potato salad is also a poem. Do you happen to have the recipe? It's truly incredible.
The cleaning staff is fantastic. Two small, elderly women always came to our room. As soon as we stepped out of the room, everything was cleaned. With great attention to detail and incredibly fast.
The additional offerings on the boards are incredibly wonderful. The hikes, infusions, sports programs, and much more are very, very nice.

The Gassenhof is an exceptionally wonderful hotel. The family business is run by two brothers with enthusiasm and passion. The entire staff is extremely friendly and competent. The positive atmosphere is authentic and unpretentious. We have already been there twice and are already planning to return. The hotel is essentially divided into two parts: the main building and the Gassenloge. The rooms in the Gassenloge, in particular, offer breathtaking views of the valley. From morning to evening, one spectacular view follows another (the stories on their social media account will be full of likes). The hotel itself is picturesquely situated in the eponymous village of Gasse, in the heart of the Riednaun Valley. You are surrounded by magnificent nature, deep gorges, dense forests, and awe-inspiring mountains. There is something for everyone: from easy hikes to tours into the mountains. The hotel offers guided tours to the surrounding alpine pastures almost daily. The hotel maintains its own alpine pasture; this tour is an absolute highlight and should be done without hesitation. The hotel also offers rental electric scooters, allowing everyone to explore the valley comfortably. All offerings are expanded through a collaboration with the tourist board, giving you free access to even more activities. There's a bulletin board at reception, with something on offer every day from morning to evening: yoga, forest bathing, meditation, sports, infusions, kitchen parties, and more. Should vacationers feel like relaxing, there's plenty on offer: an infinity pool, sauna, indoor pool, and wellness treatments. I'd especially like to mention the cuisine. It's simply magnificent. In the morning, a rich buffet of local produce is offered. Lunch is à la carte. In the afternoon, coffee and cake are available. However, I advise you to wait until dinner. A rich salad buffet is offered daily. This is followed by a five or six-course menu of the finest quality (starter, soup, first course, main course, dessert). Regional ingredients are used to create dishes that will make you feel like you're sitting in the hottest restaurant in London or New York. Only to be surprised by a local specialty or a new interpretation of it in the next course. Starting with the primo, you always have a choice of several dishes, so there's always something to suit your taste. Even as a vegetarian, I always got my money's worth. In the truly unlikely event that you don't find anything, you can fall back on a standardized selection of alternatives. In other establishments, these dishes alone would be a highlight. Insider tip: Try the Schlutzkrapfen at least once, and thank me afterwards. One of the brothers is the chef and a master of his craft, with a fantastic team. All of this is complemented by a coordinated selection of wines and other spirits. The wine cellar is a true treasure trove; all enthusiasts can already visualize the tasting. One of the two brothers makes his own award-winning gin and is an expert in the field. Another tip: Be sure to try the Argintum and, under all circumstances, take part in the wine tasting. No matter what your partner, children, relatives, pets, companions, or (if you have any) your God has planned for you that day, cancel and go for the wine tasting.

Trained, polite, and friendly staff. The reception staff, the dining room staff, the bar staff, the kitchen staff, the floor maids, and last but not least, the entire Volgger family.
High-quality cuisine, a breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner buffet fit for a king! Not to mention the main courses...a dream!
We stayed in a beautiful, clean, and spacious junior suite, perfect for 4 people.
Spectacular indoor pool and sauna, the lodge's infinity pool is superb!
In short, relaxation and good living are the watchwords at the Gassenhof!

A superb hotel, the location couldn't be better. Despite its size, the hotel still has a very family-friendly atmosphere, which you can really feel. The staff is very friendly and motivated, the food is excellent (a delicious 5-course dinner, a lavish breakfast buffet, delicious cakes at lunch...), the rooms are clean, and the wellness area is fantastic – not to mention the infinity pool with mountain views. There's so much to do, perfect for hiking and relaxing holidays – highly recommended.

I booked the Hotel Gassenhof based on the great reviews and the very nice website with its very modern look and feel. However, I ended up having a room in the main building (which is completely different in style, as all the photos on the website suggest).
I can't share the enthusiasm of the many other reviews.
My room was a junior suite, but other than being spacious, there wasn't much to it. The bathroom was a bit dated. I found that the constant additions and renovations made the hotel extremely convoluted and, above all, a mixture of countless different styles.
Not nice and not my style.
The reception staff didn't seem welcoming, and assistance was rather sporadic.
I booked it because it belongs to the hiking hotel group. But there was little real service. I've had much better experiences (the day before at another hotel in the Dolomites).
Unfortunately, the waiter was extremely prominent/present, so there was very little privacy during dinner, and above all, he always got very close to you despite the coronavirus.
The dining area, with curtains across all the windows, didn't feel at all open and modern, like the new part of the hotel.
So be careful: only book the new part of the hotel if you're captivated by the website!

A wonderful, quiet hotel where everything really fits. From the dream location in the beautiful Ridnaun Valley to the wonderfully maintained outdoor area to the great breakfast buffet. But the highlight are the rooms in the Gassenlodge, tastefully and well furnished and with a large balcony with a wonderful view of the valley. The dinner in the form of a 5-course meal was very good and small children were also welcome to eat. The manager of the house was just as friendly as the entire hotel staff. A successful stay that we would like to repeat!

This was our first time here... and we'll definitely be back.
A stylish hotel in an idyllic setting. It's fun to explore the building, as a new highlight awaits behind every staircase and every door. It takes a while to get used to it, but it's worth it. The focus is on peace, enjoyment, and relaxation. The main building is connected underground to the new building, which also houses the underground parking garage. Each building features well-maintained spa areas with a sauna, bath, relaxation oases, and massage. Our lodge in the new building left nothing to be desired. EVERYTHING was always clean and tidy. The entire team treated us politely, friendly, and attentively, even though the COVID-19 hygiene measures meant a lot of work and restrictions.
The breakfast is plentiful, and there should be something for every taste. In the evening, you can look forward to a menu that's both delicious and visually appealing, and one that will also fill you up.
The manager of the hotel takes great care of his guests and spreads a good mood.
There are certainly cheaper accommodations, but also more expensive ones that don't offer this flair.
Conclusion... Thumbs up!

We've been frequenting this hotel for many years. Excellent service, with a generous but high-quality breakfast and dinner. Cakes of all kinds are always available in the afternoon. This year, we discovered the new lounge area! It's truly beautiful, enhancing the already comprehensive facility with a new spa area and new rooms with windows overlooking the mountains! The typical Tyrolean spa offers a wide variety of wellness treatments. The wooden ambiance and modern design are tasteful. The family who runs the property are friendly. The spa's highlight is the special sauna, with local aromas diffused throughout by expertly fanned terrycloth towels. This year, the suite also has a bidet!

This was my second time here and I would go back anytime. The rooms are large, tastefully decorated, and easy to use. Especially if you want to dry off sweaty ski gear. I stayed for three days. The facility was truly excellent, clean and functional. The staff was professional and very helpful. The food was truly good and carefully prepared. The wine cellar was excellent. The spa was good, as were the staff. A hotel worth returning to.
