Our favourite place to stay in the Dolomites for a ski holiday, Hotel Gran Baita has become a genuine home-from-home that we look forward to returning to year after year.
The food is consistently superb, with generous breakfasts and beautifully prepared dinners that feel closer to fine dining than to standard “ski hotel” fare. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is relaxed and casual, so you can properly unwind after a day on the mountain. Staff are friendly and always make us feel genuinely welcome, from reception to the restaurant and bar, and that warmth really adds to the overall experience. Gran Baita is the place we keep coming back to, and it’s the first hotel we recommend to friends planning a trip to the Dolomites.

We attended the day spa as non-residents and had one treatment (back massage). All staff were very welcoming, relaxed, and made me feel special. The spa is spacious, with lots of different facilities, with several jacuzzis and a good sized pool that extends outside via push-button controlled glass doors. To be able to swim in the outside pool in January and reach out and touch the snow from the spa is very special. Valentina gave me a wonderful back massage with hot oil, she was just perfect, she’s tall but of slender build so I was extremely pleasantly surprised to discover she was so strong and gave me such a wonderful back massage. Thoroughly recommended after a morning’s skiing, and excellent value for the choice of facilities and the perfect service and lovely welcome I was given.

For four years, I've been staying at this beautiful hotel in the winter, and I've also been here in the summer. In both seasons, I've had a wonderful time, thanks to the excellent location, the services, the stunning views, the comfortable rooms, the excellent food, and the wide variety of choices for breakfast and dinner.

We stayed at the Gran Baite last year during the Christmas holidays, including celebrating New Year's Eve at the hotel, and it was a simply wonderful experience.
It's a historic hotel, with stunning architecture that immediately exudes charm and warmth. The rooms are beautiful, meticulously designed, and truly comfortable.
The spa is wonderful, perfect for relaxing after a day on the snow, while the ski rental service was incredibly efficient and convenient.
The restaurant also gave us great satisfaction: the cuisine is top-notch, and the hotel also features a gourmet restaurant open to guests, a testament to its sophisticated and high-quality cuisine.
The bar offers a wide selection of wines, and every evening the atmosphere was made even more pleasant by the piano bar, a detail that truly makes all the difference.
Once again, a truly enjoyable holiday in every way. Highly recommended hotel.

We travelled to the Dolomites just a few days before the December peak season, so we expected things to be fairly quiet and simple. To our pleasant surprise, Granbaita Dolomites absolutely wowed us from the moment we arrived. The rooms, the dining areas, the incredible spa with six different sauna experiences, and even the hotel’s activities—all exceeded our expectations.
Highlights:
1. Immaculate arrival experience – The valet and luggage handling were flawless. Our rooms were even ready before the official check-in time, which was such a welcome start.
2. Special thanks to Mirko – We joined him for two morning snow hikes and learnt so much about Val Gardena’s history, culture, and geography. Truly enriching and one of the best parts of our stay. And the fact that hiking sticks, a backpack, and bottled water were provided at no charge made it feel even more worthwhile.
3. Comfortable, quiet rooms – Clean bathrooms, twice-daily room service, and excellent soundproofing (we were next to the ice hockey stadium and heard almost nothing!).
4. Fantastic breakfast – A generous spread with plenty to choose from… including champagne. Always a plus.
5. Magical pool & spa – The indoor–outdoor heated pool in winter felt unreal, and the variety of saunas was perfect for winding down.
6. Warm, friendly staff – Every team member we encountered was genuinely friendly, attentive, and ready to help. This made the entire stay feel even more personal and enjoyable.
7. Warm, homey atmosphere – From the guests to the overall environment and the location itself—everything felt welcoming and made us genuinely happy.
Lowlights & Areas for Improvement:
1. Some of the warm breakfast items and the à la carte dinner dishes could be elevated a little more.
2. Evening turndown service could replace empty water bottles (still and sparkling) with full ones.
These are tiny points and trivial in comparison to the joy this hotel gave us.
Our only real disappointment? — That Granbaita couldn’t slow down time for us.
And if you think we’re biased—after Granbaita, we stayed two nights at Forestis in the Tower Suite, while we only stayed in a standard double room at Granbaita… and we still felt that Granbaita spoiled us more.
Highly recommended. We’d return in a heartbeat, hungry for more! ️

We've stayed at this hotel both in the winter and summer, always accompanied by our dog, and the welcome was excellent on both occasions. Upon arrival, we were given a welcome kit for the dog, and everyone was extremely kind and helpful.
The location, right in the city center, is extremely convenient even for those traveling without a car, while also enjoying tranquility and open spaces. A perfect place for those seeking comfort, quality, and authentic hospitality. Highly recommended!

We stayed here as the first stop on our honeymoon and it was truly magical. Since we went in October, the town and hotel too was very quiet, as it's in between the summer and winter seasons. The food was fantastic - the half board option is well worth it. It is only about a 10 minute drive from Ortisei and the Alpe di Suisi gondola. There are also a ton of daily activities offered by the hotel. The spa was fantastic as well, and the prices were far better than what we were used to in the US. Only thing was that it books up quite quickly, so be sure to reserve ahead of time. The pool, saunas and gym were also a highlight. Overall, the staff were absolutely incredible and so welcoming. HIGHLY recommend staying here - we will be back!!

Really enjoyed our second time here. The only area of improvement I can say is that when Giovanni left us mid-week the quality of service at breakfast and dinner really dropped. The others should take notes from Giovanni in my opinion because he leaves a very memorable and charming impression and is extremely attentive (you can see he has studied the menu every morning and shows it off, he is imho a role model for the others) . Mirko ,Antonio both were fantastic guides and wouldn't ask for anything to change( maybe brake pads on the emtb bike ;) ) . The cleaning staff were very friendly and spotless. Reception always very helpful . I struggled at the spa a bit with communication (only knowing German and English) but we managed through a bit of confusion :) I loved the little touches like fruits in the sauna entrance and the turn down team replacing towels in the bathroom at night. The bar always brings snacks even when we were finishing a glass of wine from dinner showed off some great hospitality. (If you want more feedback let me know :)

The Granbaita has become my new go-to: a complete property in every way, capable of standing out even from many of the 4- and 5-star hotels I regularly frequent.
The staff deserves special mention: professional, friendly, and always available. The receptionists, in particular, welcome guests with a genuine smile and are attentive to every request.
The restaurant is one of the hotel's strong points: the quality of the ingredients, the variety of the offerings, and the carefully curated buffets—both for breakfast and dinner—are of the highest standard. Every meal becomes an experience of taste and refinement.
My suite was impeccable: modern, perfectly clean, soundproofed, and finished with quality materials. The extremely comfortable bed ensured a superior night's sleep, an aspect I consider essential.
The internal garage with valet parking and luggage storage is also very convenient. Also interesting is the blackboard at the entrance that clearly lists the daily activities available to guests.
The spa is simply extraordinary: well-maintained, always clean spaces, numerous saunas, a well-equipped gym, personalized massage options, and, above all, a large heated pool that makes for a truly unforgettable relaxation experience.
Our stay at Granbaita was, in a word, perfect. We will undoubtedly return, confident of experiencing the same level of excellence.

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. The staff goes out of their way take care of you. Every question asked is always met with a wonderful answer or better suggestion. The rooms are large & comfortable & quiet. The pool & saunas are equally impressive. The cocktails ( Hugo spritz & gin basil smash) are out of this world. You are close to town & all of the trails. The FREE e-mountain bikes (& provided gloves & helmets) are incredible. Our MTB guide, Karin, was fabulous & took time to share with us perfect routes so we could explore on our own. Dinner was awesome, the €60 fee covers appetizer & salad buffet, soup, entree, dessert. We paid for room & breakfast & the buffet will provide you with all the energy you need to get outside. If they have the croissant with lemon basil cream, you will want to eat 5 of them. Selva is the most perfect spot in Val Gardena. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We had an amazing time! The hotel is beautiful and the spa is amazing, as are the treatments- I had 2. The food is great with a huge selection- half board has both menu options and buffet options, all included. Bar /lounge area is fun also with a huge selection. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the service of all of the staff is wonderful and feels very family like. After a few days the waiters knew what we liked to drink and had it waiting for us at the table!! The hotel has everything you need for family or romantic getaway with lots of activities and options. The area that the hotel is located in is small and not central so outings are limited in walking distance- which for us was great. Aside from skiing, we didn’t leave the hotel, a huge bonus when you don’t want to have to walk around to find a restaurant every night like we usually do with other places!! The staff will drive you to and pick you up from 3 very convenient locations for ski making the hotel super easy for skiing. You can rent gear from the hotel and they give you lockers so nothing is needed from outside the hotel. There is also a way to ski back to the hotel if you want. We left at 3am and there was a HUGE breakfast box waiting for us to take with us as well as a printed birthday greeting and gift for my husband (the day we left was his birthday- I didn’t mention it, they noticed from his passport and did this themselves). What a lovely, friendly, family feel but luxury hotel. Everything you need for a perfect ski vacation!!

The rooms are brand new, equipped with every comfort and luxurious finishes. All the staff are courteous, helpful, and very welcoming. The bar and wine cellar obviously have a wide selection, and bartender Giampaolo is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. One of the highlights is the free mountain guide services included. We used the (brand new) e-bikes. The spa is also very large, and despite the many guests, there's always room for everyone in the various saunas or the Turkish bath. We'll definitely be back.

The furnishings are modern and very beautiful. The staff was friendly and efficient. The relaxing massage was very satisfying. I've been coming to Val Gardena since my childhood, now long gone, always staying at the same hotels, but this year we changed to the Granbaita. A truly perfect choice!
The hotel is centrally located in Selva and well-connected by shuttle to the main ski lifts. It's clearly recently renovated, boasting excellent, warm, and welcoming furnishings. The Superior room we chose was spacious and overlooked the planted terrace overlooking the entrance. It was very quiet and impeccably clean and serviced in the evening.
The breakfast was excellent and varied, and the evening menus offered a good selection, offering several alternative options in addition to the daily specials. Kudos to our maitre d', Paola, who was kind, friendly, and very attentive to my wife's food allergies.
All the staff, from the bellhops to the reception, were truly friendly and professional, from arrival to departure.
We will definitely return in the future.

Should even minor things go wrong, they react very confidently and professionally. Very nice and comfortable rooms. The excellent cuisine is absolutely worth mentioning. The integrated gourmet restaurant is probably rarely visited because the "regular" restaurant cuisine is already of a very high standard. The wine cellar and wine list are also fantastic. Also worthy of praise are the very professional tour guides who accompany you on hikes or simply advise you on customized tours. There's no question that the whole experience comes at a price. But you also get exceptional value for your money.

We thank all the staff who helped make our stay exceptional, from the chefs to the reception staff. A special thanks to Alice, who always served us with care and kindness, and to the chef from Naples, who delighted us with his friendliness and his dishes. Trust me, I’ve stayed in lots of 5* hotels all over the world. This IS THE place to be. Honesty.
Everything is simply perfect: food, service, design, activity program, spa.
The rooms are super ergonomic- you have enough space (and I am a blond girl so I do not travel light) for all you staff, luggage. Spa is simply amazing: all these pine and hay saunas , outdoor pool heated to the right temperatures (which is a rare thing nowadays even with a upscale 5*, since everybody is economizing) , food is so variable, fresh, perfectly cooked!
And the activity program- the best guide in the area!

I stayed four nights this December in a Superior room on the first floor. Very nice structure, modern, spacious and clean room. Excellent breakfast and dinner with a variety and high quality. Central and quiet location. I recommend it and will definitely consider returning.
Based on the experience acquired from stays in structures of the same level also in the area (Selva di Val Gardena, Ortisei, Colfosco, Vigo di Fassa) I would like to point out some areas of improvement found in relation to the services used, which were however of a high level.
1) The automatic door connecting the indoor and outdoor pool only worked one morning. I reported the problem three times (a phone call to the reception and two reports to the receptionist at the spa) but the anomaly was never resolved. It may happen that automatic doors, if used, can break, simple information to customers, even through a simple warning, would be useful.
2) The indoor pool area, which cannot be reached by lifts, probably needs renovation as it appears "not aligned" with those of the sauna area, the reception, the restaurant and the room.
3) In the bedroom, the bedside switches are not easily accessible and visible from the bed due to the shape of the headboard and the courtesy mirror in the bathroom, which is aesthetically very beautiful, is however not very functional.
4) At the restaurant the waiter should always serve the female guest first and not ask who ordered the dish he is about to serve to the table.
5) Upon arrival, the staff accompanies the guest to the room and explains its characteristics and functionality. If, given some clarifications, you do not have the information, it is advisable to reserve the answer for further investigation. Specifically, I am referring to the operation of the button in the bathroom to adjust the volume of the television and the free supply of certain amenities (water and coffee pods).

One of the best 5 star hotels we have stayed in in Europe! The welcome is top notch with customized drinks and apertif according to our needs.
We got almost everything we wanted and wished for from an excellent breakfast spread, activities including gears, bikes, guides, to wellness spots, and spectacular over the top gourmet dinner.
The location is perfect for all the views of the Dolomites and walking distance to shopping, ski pisten, and even groceries and souvenirs.
My husband and i enjoyed every moment of our 6 day Babymoon here!

The room (Dolomites) and spa were truly spectacular, as was the lobby. There were a few lapses in attention and service; we felt a bit like second-class guests because we were quite young (compared to the hotel's clientele) and had a dog (who was better behaved than a human).
It's still an excellent hotel for a luxury ski vacation.

Only three stars because the price-performance ratio isn't right. We were there for three days, and the evening meals were okay, but not great! They lacked flavor and were bland. If you choose a main course other than the one on the set menu, you get the side dish from the daily specials menu... well, what can you say: venison medallions with stir-fried vegetables and pumpkin puree... it was completely inappropriate. And this in a 5-star hotel? The appetizer buffet was okay, but the salad in the bowls was wilted every day. We were a bit disappointed at a price of €400 for two people per day; we're used to better.
Breakfast was good with a good selection. You can squeeze your own fresh juices, but you have to peel the apples and carrots yourself! The spa area is quite nice, but the wall around the indoor whirlpool is peeling and dirty. The door to the outdoor pool is broken; you have to push the sliding door open. You have to pay extra for the saltwater pool: €10 per person for 20 minutes.

We spent three nights at the Granbaita for our wedding anniversary. All our expectations were exceeded. The room (Superior Room) was beautiful. In the evening, the bed was even made up for us. Water bottles were constantly replenished. Breakfast was very generous. Anyone who says something is missing should stay home. Dinner was also very good. Unfortunately, my husband's beef was undercooked and therefore had to be sent back. The staff was very understanding and we were offered complimentary drinks. The spa area is second to none and very relaxing. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone! We would love to come back. Thank you!

The young lady who greeted us upon arrival explained all the services offered very carefully and kindly. The bar staff are always very friendly and well-trained. A special mention goes to the wonderful Paola and Endora, who welcomed us at our table with a beautiful smile and admirable professionalism.
We were pampered almost every day by the spa staff with fantastic massages. Highly recommended!
Every evening, after dinner, we enjoyed stopping by the bar to relax with some piano music. I regret not having asked the name of the musician, who we really enjoyed.
Overall, we had the impression that the owners strive to create a pleasant atmosphere and a serene atmosphere among the staff, who are truly well-trained and always attentive to the guests' needs. A truly wonderful team!
Finally, we want to thank Mirko, with whom we went on some wonderful hikes and from whom we received some invaluable advice. It's wonderful to see how much a young person born and raised in Selva is committed to sharing the beauty that lies in every corner. His wonder is contagious.

We're back: the Gran Baita, in the center of Selva di Val Gardena, a popular destination for skiing in winter and hiking in summer, is nestled in the Dolomites, at the foot of the Sella and Sassolungo mountains, ideally located close to the starting points for every pleasant hike or ski trip. Indeed, the Gran Baita is THE (luxurious) STARTING POINT. My family and I can't say enough good things about it: we stayed with three adults in a spacious suite with two bathrooms, welcoming, comfortable, well-maintained, and well-equipped. The heated indoor and outdoor pool, surrounded by a beautiful lawn, complements the excellent spa. Kudos once again to the Perhatoner family for their management, selection, and professionalism in their staff, who are friendly and attentive to everyone's needs. A special thanks this year to Paola, who in the dining room, both at breakfast and dinner, with delightful kindness and discretion, was always proactive and attentive: a person who makes going to the dining room even more pleasant, if that's possible.

I'm sad to leave. The hotel is located in the center of Selva di Val Gardena, with a magnificent view of the Sella massif, perfect for aperitifs. I'll start by talking about the pool, with revitalized water, both indoors and outdoors, accessible via a door inside the pool. The gym is well-stocked, and the wellness area is very large, clean, and comfortable. The bar offers a huge selection of spirits and soft drinks, striving to maintain Made in Italy standards. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and competent. The restaurant: a HUGE buffet, changing every night, with a wide variety of foods to suit all tastes. The menu is very varied, with "vital" options: a lower-calorie menu without sacrificing flavor. The room is very large, clean, and has a view of the Sassolungo woods. The staff and technical personnel are highly trained in every aspect of the services offered, from guides to bike rentals. Definitely recommended.

It might be because our experience with 5-star hotels in Europe is limited, but we've never felt as comfortable in a hotel as we did here. The service was incredibly attentive, charmingly friendly, yet effortlessly unobtrusive. The food was exceptionally good, and half-board is definitely a must. The spa area was fantastic, with several sauna infusions every afternoon; the location near the most beautiful ski resort we've ever been to was perfect. We had one of the unrenovated rooms, which simply had slightly dated furnishings. This was a conscious decision due to the price and therefore perfectly acceptable; I sincerely hope this room category will continue to be offered. The only drawback was the mattress, which was uncomfortable. After I mentioned it, a mattress topper was added, which improved it somewhat. But since everything else was fantastic, I would return in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!

The ski room with adjacent rentals offering excellent equipment is very convenient. There's a Technogym gym. The pool and relaxation spas are large and never crowded.
You can ski back to within 200 meters of the hotel. At the start, there are hotel vans that take you to the main lifts. Very convenient.

The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable. The spa and wellness area were incredible, with indoor and outdoor heated whirlpools. Several saunas with different temperatures, including the 90-degree panoramic one, were a must-try. The staff was extremely attentive to their guests' every request. A truly beautiful property, attentive and friendly staff, excellent hospitality, quality food with a wide selection, thanks to a generous buffet and a set menu that allows you to choose any course you like if you don't like something. The services offered are extensive, starting with excursions organized by locals; I especially want to thank Mirko, who helped make our holiday special with his wonderful e-bike excursions.
The pools and spa were breathtaking!
We weren't happy with the room, which was in an unfortunate location. The view from the balcony looked directly onto the roof of the sports hall and was adjacent to the kitchen's exterior exit. Early in the morning, we were woken up by suppliers delivering goods, in the afternoon, athletes training made a lot of noise, and at night, waiters would stop to chat (just two meters from the balcony). Our room was 115, on the first floor. I was disappointed that I had specifically requested a quiet, private room, and, if possible, a pleasant view. I would never have expected this from a hotel of this caliber, especially considering the price of the room. It would have been nice to have been notified before receiving the room assignment, or even before receiving the full advance payment.
Another small inconvenience: on the day of departure, they offered to load our luggage into our car, which was in the garage. When the valet returned the car, we immediately set off for home, without checking the trunk. After two hours, the hotel called and told us they had forgotten to load our luggage. We turned back, driving 150 km, and when we reached reception, we received only an apology.

Magical place! I was lucky enough to stay at this hotel with my boyfriend. The room was very large and spacious, with a king bed and a truly spacious bathroom. We were welcomed by Margherita, who explained all the hotel's amenities to us. We really enjoyed the tours with Layla, a very knowledgeable and helpful guide. (Layla's tours are the ones that leave at 10 am!) It truly added value to our vacation! Before the tour, there was a generous breakfast buffet. I recommend trying the omelets and crepes prepared by the chef that morning, they are excellent! In the evening, the buffet is varied and full of all kinds: Nadiya oversaw all our meals with attention and care, never missing anything. The timing between courses was perfect. We really appreciated all the attention from the staff, as well as Daniele, who came every evening to check on how everything was going. It's a magical place and we will definitely return! 5 stars aren't enough!

We just returned from a family vacation at this wonderful property, and we can honestly say it's one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. We stayed in a Junior Suite, perfect for three adults and a child. The room is gorgeous: a king-size bed, a spacious living area with a sofa bed, a truly spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower, and, most importantly, a stunning terrace overlooking the mountains. The welcome was wonderful; Giulia greeted us, sat us down, and showed us how the hotel works, its opening hours, and the various services included. The hotel only offers half-board options, but with very convenient hours: breakfast is served from 7:00 am to 11:00 am and dinner from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm (perfect times for those with small children and who prefer an early dinner). The food was amazing, and there's a "classic" menu and a very low-calorie vital menu available. As someone who's gluten-intolerant, I have to say the hotel is truly superbly equipped and prepared. The icing on the cake is the unpredictable kindness of every single employee. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to take a break and enjoy a wonderful holiday in Selva.

Simply a stunning hotel with fantastic spa facilities and dinner up there with the best restaurant food I've had anywhere. The staff are super friendly and always helpful and make it such a pleasant place to relax. The spa had every kind of facility you could imagine, even down to a 'snow room' that generates snow to cool you down. Three saunas, steam room, hot tub, indoor and outdoor pools.
The food in the restaurant really is amazing. We also tried three Gourmet testing menu in three separate restaurant, which is up there with the Michelin star offerings through quality, ingenuity and serving drama
For skiing it's a delight to have the free shuttle and the equipment room is practically luxurious.

I have no words to deacribe how amazing this Hotel is.
The service is absoloutely fantastic across the entire hotel. The staff makes you feel welcomed and they cater for all your needs and able to answer any question. The hotel also provides a shuttle service with their mini-vans to drop you off next to the Ski lifts.
The food was absoloutely amazing and had a lot of options to choose from like meat, seafood and vegeterian options. We also enjoyed the live music daily during dinner servive at the lounge area next to cosy fireplace.
The facilities are great. The Spa and Sauna area was immaculate and the indoor / outdoor swimming pool was a great addition.
Special thanks to Nadya for looking after us during our breakfast and dinner service.
I would highly recommend and would gladly visit multiple times.

Incredibly great hotel. We stayed there for 5 days during the off-season. The hotel, the rooms, the spa area, the restaurant, and the lobby—everything was absolutely beautiful.
The staff was very friendly and left nothing to be desired.
We had a room on the first floor with a great terrace. Unfortunately, it was very noisy in the room; we suspect the kitchen was below the room. There was always loud noise in the evenings and early mornings. When we reported this to reception, we were immediately given a new room on the third floor. Room service was excellent. The evening menus were incredibly delicious, and the staff were extremely friendly and flexible. If a menu doesn't suit your taste, you can choose from many other dishes, all of which tasted great.
The cocktails were delicious.
There's nothing to complain about at this hotel.
We'll book again.

Water in pool: inside is about 34 degree outside about 30 is warm and very relaxing better how is described on their web site !It was very nice to swim outside ! Outside area have a place with hydromassage .Near inside pool a jacuzzi for 3-4 persons .Many and very nice sauna (6 +1 ) with free tea-water-fruits and nuts. In sauna area is a hot jacuzzi -outside area- and is organized Aufguss professional in one of the Sauna. To pay extra: salt water pool and salt room both very nice . Underground secured free garage, very nice, have place also for big cars. Cleaning 10+ . Staff 10+ . Reception service very high level permanent enough staff professional and very kind ! Garden suite very comfortable with kitchen with everything may need, tea and coffee included .Daily, hotel organize free of charge trips on mountains with guides: liked very much ! Breakfast very refined; to dinner offer 2 menus but also possible to choose free of charge from a la cart menu ! The hotel was over our expectation, deserve 5 star and was first hotel where I felt that i paid less as services received ! Hope to may go back, thanks for fantastic holiday made !

I immediately fell in love with this hotel for all the things it offered, and I chose it as a birthday present for my boyfriend.
It was a wonderful stay; everyone was so kind, helpful, and attentive to cleanliness, making sure we didn't miss a thing.
The place is enchanting,
tranquility reigns, and the mountain views are breathtaking.
The hotel organizes excursions that are truly worth doing;
they immerse you completely in nature.
The only thing I wasn't too thrilled with was the massage I booked for both of us... and the pool water, which I thought should have been a little warmer for the temperatures there.
But other than that, I really have nothing to say; in fact, I would recommend it to everyone; it's impossible to be disappointed.
I truly thank all the staff because they made it a wonderful surprise!!
I hope to return one day!!

Amanda at reception gave us such a friendly and pleasant welcome; we felt at home from the very first second. The service from Marco (our head waiter) was second to none: incredibly attentive and courteous, always with a smile on his face, yet still in the background. The kitchen offers a premium 5-star menu every evening that was better than we have ever experienced in any other 5-star hotel. A huge compliment to the entire kitchen team; the food was divine. Afterwards, we usually spent the evening at the bar. Here, Francesco impressed us every night with his extensive knowledge of the various drinks and his very attentive and friendly service. Although we have already been fortunate enough to stay in various luxury hotels around the world (Anantara, Alila, Six Senses, etc.), the service at the Granbaita was so exceptional that we were lastingly impressed. The incredibly friendly, kind, and accommodating nature of Amanda, Marco, Francesco, and all the other staff members is definitely worth mentioning. And every single member of staff always has a smile on their face. The guided hikes with Karin were also an experience we really enjoyed and deserve a special mention!

A perfect welcome in every detail. The property is impeccable, with all the comforts to make your stay exciting and rewarding, yet also relaxing.
I want to publicly thank not only Mr. Raphel Perathoner, but also Chef Andrea Moccia, who was spectacular in every aspect of his cuisine.
Marco and Manuela for their impeccable management of the restaurant, assisted by Matteo, Federico, and Emiliano.

I'm thrilled with this hotel! Everything was perfect down to the last detail! Extremely nice and friendly staff! The room was fabulous! The food was very varied and high quality!
What I found particularly special about this hotel were all the activities on offer – every day there are organized hiking or e-mountain bike tours with professional guides. You can rent bikes, as well as equipment such as hiking poles, backpacks, gloves, and even water bottles! The tours are perfectly organized and very entertaining.
The information board and website are highly professional – you can easily find all the information every day – from the weather and daily program to the daily menu, etc.
I highly recommend this hotel and can hardly wait until we return!

This is my first time staying at this hotel, and I'll definitely be back. Gorgeous place, incredibly kind and helpful staff. My girlfriend and I stayed in the junior suite, a beautiful room, a huge bathroom with all the amenities, and a gorgeous bedroom with a huge window offering a unique view. The food was excellent. Great rooms (Dolomites Suite) with excellent amenities, very clean, a premium 5-course evening menu, a very good bar, and excellent service. The central location in Selva offers a wide range of activities from the hotel or within a very short drive. Free rental of e-MTBs is available, although at least one was in pretty poor condition (the front brake was broken due to air in the hose). For more challenging tours, it's better to rent a bike for a fee, e.g., at the nearby Intersport.

I was fortunate enough to discover this wonderful hotel through a social media promotion, and I must say it was truly a wonderful discovery.
I'll start with the location and the beauty of the entire hotel (restaurant, bar, wellness center, reception, and wonderful rooms). The hotel has been completely renovated.
Cleanliness everywhere, not to mention the rooms, which were tidied up before returning to our rooms in the evening.
Excellent location, given that it's in the heart of the Dolomites.
Top-notch food for both breakfast and dinner, compliments to the chefs and everything related to the kitchen.
A special thanks goes to all the Granbaita staff, who pampered us and made us feel at home (from the room maids, to the shuttle service staff, to the reception staff, to the bar staff (Gianpaolo and Paolo with their suggestions), but a special thanks goes to Daniele and Olga for always being there, as well as all the other restaurant staff who were always present.
An innovation regarding the excursions they offer every day for guests (which is no small thing), since you have the opportunity To admire and explore the wonderful local places with expert and safe guides, and for this I want to thank Patrik and Mirko for their professionalism (I hope to find them and this service again for the ski week I'll book at the Granbaita).
Finally, THANK YOU to the Perathoner family, especially Mr. Raphael, for the attention and kindness he shows his clients.
Unfortunately, I injured myself the day after I arrived, and he immediately provided me with crutches and a wheelchair. He made me feel truly at home, and I didn't need anything because everything was top-notch!

I think this is one of the most beautiful hotels in Val Gardena: you don't just come here for a stay, but for a true experience that will stay with you for a long time.
Renovated just before the Covid-19 lockdown, the Granbaita is a gem to be enjoyed. The hotel's strengths are the attention to your every need, the wellness area, and last but not least, the cuisine.
The common area is elegantly furnished, and every detail has been carefully considered, combining very pleasant colors and materials. Our room was simply splendid, spacious, and well-appointed: two bathrooms, a bedroom, a living area, and two large balconies. The wellness area is very large: an indoor pool with sauna, Turkish bath, and a well-equipped gym. In addition to this large space, there is an outdoor pool with a solarium. Inside, you'll find a spa area for adults with several saunas, Turkish baths, a whirlpool, and, finally, a beautiful area called Savinela. This is a separate facility with numerous rooms for massages, beauty treatments, and relaxation. We chose a couples massage and a milk bath in the wooden tub with herbal teas and sweets (I recommend booking treatments before arrival directly on the website).
Finally, the cuisine: simply spectacular, thanks to the knowledge and use of raw ingredients. Nothing is left to chance. A well-stocked breakfast buffet is available, with the option of ordering à la carte directly in the dining room. Dinner, with the half-board option, offers both a daily changing menu and à la carte options. The wine list, both local and international, is excellent. If you'd like to treat yourself, book in the gourmet dining room. This will be an experience you'll cherish forever. Chef Andrea Moccia will amaze you, and the maitre d' will guide you and the staff on an unforgettable journey!
Rarely have we felt so pampered, and this is exactly what you expect from a high-end hotel like the Granbaita Dolomites.

We stayed at the Granbaita in a Superior Suite for four nights in October 2020.
The positives: The service staff in the restaurant are really attentive and friendly. The new restaurant is also architecturally very attractive.
What didn't convince us:
- We found the menus too boring for a 5* hotel and some of them weren't well prepared, some of them being very salty.
- The breakfast buffet was good, but not varied and not well replenished. You can sometimes wait 15 minutes for a coffee, and half an hour for a breakfast egg. It could be better.
- The pillows are completely unacceptable, as a trailer for these sun loungers reminded me. We spent two days asking at reception if we could get different pillows. We kept getting the same pillow. In the end, we just used the sofa cushions.
- A bottle of water in the room would have been nice. In other 5* hotels, soft drinks from the minibar are included, by the way.
- A shelf had fallen out of the wardrobe. Not possible at a 5*
- There was a major construction site in front of the hotel. The hotel can't be blamed for that. It didn't make the stay any better, though, and the car was pretty dusty afterward.
- The wellness area doesn't open until the afternoon, even in rainy weather. Other hotels are more flexible when it's raining outside.
We would have expected more from the 5* rating that the Granbaita has on its entrance door, and we know of much better hotels, whether 5*, 4*S, etc. By the way, when we left, we received a pen as a gift, which still had the 4* rating from the previous year on it – it somehow fit the picture.

The food selection is always a highlight. You can choose among the very diverse buffet, a multi-course menue (changes daily), and an a la carte selection. Excellent Alpine (Austrian–Tyrolian) and Italian cooking. The Suites and the hotel lobby are newly renovated and very stylish. We stayed at many hotels in the area, this one is the best for a family with kids. But also excellent for a couple who looks for a weekend retreat. More expensive than other hotels, but worthwhile every cent.

We arrived at a time when not a single restaurant in the town was open until the evening, but the hotel's Chef was called especially for us earlier and he prepared a wonderful lunch for us of our choice. During breakfast and dinner, we explained our dietary restrictions and the staff fully explained the composition of the dishes and pointed out the dishes that contained ingredients that were not suitable for us. Very attentive!
The hotel's spa center deserves special attention. A wide selection of very high-quality saunas, swimming pools, spa treatments, massages!

I just stayed—and for the
first time—at this hotel, which has boasted 5 stars since this winter. Can we say that? Well deserved! The service is always attentive and never intrusive (which led me to abandon my previous hotel in Val Gardena), and the cuisine is tasty, refined, and high-quality. Finally, a five-course dinner that even a man of medium-tall build can enjoy without leaving the table devastated by the excessive portions: a balance worthy of a tasting menu that at least reaches the Michelin star level, both in terms of the quality of the ingredients and the service, including the waiting and cooking times. A small criticism—but probably prompted by the current historical moment—is that the evening and breakfast buffets are of great quality but a bit undersized in quantity, and they aren't supervised with the same (unsurpassed) attention as the dining room. I was told that I could have requested anything I didn't find, but that goes a bit against the concept of a buffet... but it's really just a joke. The morning cuisine is also top-notch, with freshly prepared egg dishes available upon request.
The room was perfect, with a view of the mountains, and impeccable service. One thing really touched me—and I'm not exaggerating: in addition to the thorough morning cleaning service, there's an evening room refreshment service that takes place during dinner... you can't imagine my happiness and amazement on the first evening when I found the duvets neatly arranged, the bathroom tidy, and all thanks to the attention I received... not even at home does so much attention to guests!!!!!
Finally, the property features an indoor and outdoor pool and a quality spa.

A completely new hotel. Beautiful, tastefully furnished, spacious rooms, excellent service, and a consistently top-notch restaurant. The spa and pool are fantastic. After several years away, we returned and immediately felt at home. The owners and their children welcomed us with great kindness and warmth. Even Jackie, our boxer, loved the room that opened directly onto the raised garden, where she could roam freely. What more can we say? We left reluctantly, but we're eager to return soon.

Great wellness center. Went there for a spa package and really enjoyed it. They have an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and lots of deck chairs etc. Very relaxing after a mornings skiing!

Many rooms have been recently renovated and are stunning. The style is modern but with typical South Tyrolean mountain elements. Suite 209 has a huge and very elegant master bathroom. The staff is extremely friendly.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days. The service was excellent, both in terms of food and room cleaning. I also went to the pool and had a pedicure (for a fee), performed by very talented and qualified staff.

My girlfriend's family has been staying at this hotel for 32 years. This year, I joined them for the weekend and was able to confirm their more than positive experience. The staff is competent and very attentive to their guests' needs.
The cuisine is excellent, with a wide selection to choose from. I highly recommend the venison medallions for meat lovers.
The hotel also features a swimming pool (indoor and outdoor) and a spa.
Bikes and e-bikes are available.
The hotel's backdrop is the mighty Dolomites.

A stunning property surrounded by greenery. The atmosphere is beautiful in the summer, but I can't imagine it would be in the winter.
The staff is very kind and available for information, free spa product trials, menu changes, and recommendations.
The cuisine is truly inviting: half board with the option to choose from the chef's menu as well as dishes from the à la carte menu. The only flaw is the lack of variety in breakfast, especially compared to the evening menu.
There are an indoor and outdoor pool, a sauna, and a heated whirlpool.
The rooms are quite spacious, and all overlook the mountains and trees.
A great experience, highly recommended.

Having dined in the Gran Baita's dining room, we appreciated the quality of the dishes and the friendliness of the reception and restaurant staff.
The bill was in line with other restaurants in Valgardena and certainly not excessive considering the service offered.

This hotel is amazing. The food and spa are out of this world and the staff work so hard to make everything perfect. Worth every penny for a luxury holiday experience in spectacularly beautiful surroundings any time of year but especially in the ski season.

A beautiful hotel with traditional atmospheres. It features an excellent restaurant. The wellness area features an indoor-outdoor pool (30C indoor and 32C outdoor), various saunas, and a wide range of treatments and massages. A shuttle service to the ski lifts is available, as well as a room with personal lockers for ski equipment. Covered parking is available for guests, for a fee.
