South Tyrol boasts many beautiful and unique hotels – but the Muchele is truly special. From arrival to room, everything here is simply perfect.
The Ganthaler family embodies genuine, heartfelt hospitality that you feel from the very first moment. You immediately feel welcome, completely at ease, and lovingly cared for. Always present, yet never intrusive – this delicate balance is precisely what gives the hotel its special charm.
The culinary experience leaves nothing to be desired. The food is of the highest quality and prepared with palpable passion, love, and craftsmanship. A particular highlight for us was the traditional kitchen table on our last evening – an unforgettable experience! It's fascinating to see the creativity, precision, and enthusiasm that goes into creating these dishes.
The wine selection is also outstanding and perfectly complements the overall dining experience.

I am not sure if the restaurant has a Michelin star or not, but it is definitely that level. Every single plate was delicious.
The staff are professional and friendly. They were very accommodating of our little bambina, and also my gluten allergies.

The Hotel Muchele is a true gem amidst the stunning landscape of South Tyrol – a place where you don't just arrive, but truly feel at home. From the moment you enter the lovingly furnished hotel, you sense the special atmosphere. There's so much personality, taste, and passion in every detail – simply a place to feel at home.
A huge compliment goes to the three wonderful sisters who run the hotel with so much warmth, passion, and authenticity. Their warmth characterizes the entire stay and makes the Muchele something truly special.
Every evening was a culinary highlight. What Chef Patrick conjures up from the kitchen is simply extraordinary – finely balanced flavors, creative compositions, yet always down-to-earth. A huge compliment to him and his team – that was culinary art at the highest level!
The rest of the team – from reception to service to the wellness area – was consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful. You feel completely cared for and appreciated.
The Muchele isn't just a hotel—it's a place to arrive, enjoy, and return. Thank you so much for this wonderful break!

The food and bar are excellent, the ambiance incredibly cozy and stylish, and the rooms and wellness area offer everything you could wish for. The location – not far from Bolzano and Merano – makes it the ideal starting point for day trips, even if you don't really want to leave the hotel
But what makes this hotel truly special are the people we meet here at work in all areas.

We stayed at the Muchele with our young daughter for five nights and were absolutely thrilled. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, a great pool, and a great location (10 minutes from Merano, 20 minutes from Bolzano). What makes the Hotel Muchele so special, however, is the exceptionally good food with fantastic wines, as well as the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. It couldn't be better! Wellness is sufficient, great relaxation area, pool pleasantly warm and saunas really great. If you want to experience a gourmet experience, I definitely recommend visiting this hotel. A dream hotel!

The room on the third floor was also excellent—large, modern, and with a very comfortable bed.
The board games available in the bar were a nice touch, and we used them every evening.
The location on the busy road was a drawback for us. I like to sleep with the window open, but unfortunately, the noise from the road made that impossible until late at night and early in the morning. While Burgstall is quite well and centrally located (e.g., with connections to Merano and Bolzano), the town itself offers very little.

The Muchele is a very special hotel. The welcome itself was so authentic and friendly that it's worth mentioning. The hotel staff here is the best-trained and friendliest I've ever experienced. The bar manager is extremely knowledgeable and conjured up delicious drinks for us. Questions about the wine were not only answered professionally, but we were also able to try everything.
The food was always excellent, even for people who (have to) follow a gluten-free diet.
The wellness area is chic and modern. The sauna infusion with music was a lot of fun.
The breakfast is fantastic. You can squeeze your own juices, the coffee is good, and the service is top-notch.
A chic hotel in a good location. We'd be happy to come back anytime.

We spent a few wonderful days here on the occasion of my mother's 70th birthday.
I hadn't chosen the hotel and actually had another favorite.
However, what awaited us during our stay refuted any doubts.
I have rarely been in a house where I received such a friendly welcome! Even though we had never been a guest before, within 5 minutes of arriving we felt like we had been regular guests for years. With absolutely every employee you could feel how hospitality is lived and loved down to the last detail!
The hotel itself also leaves nothing to be desired: rooms, restaurant, wellness area - everything lovingly styled down to the last detail.
The absolute highlight was the 7-course dinner at the "Kuchltisch" - directly in Patrick Holzner's kitchen. The testers from Michelin & Co should stop by here - absolutely worthy of a star!

Our stay was so far so good and very pleasant. We slept really well, ate very well, and had a wonderful rest.
The small yoga area behind the glass fitness room was perfect for our private yoga sessions in the morning.
We were the only guests at the time of our stay who were gluten-free, and they took this into account and adapted the 5-course menu accordingly. Thank you very much!
My greatest joy in the morning was the juicer at breakfast: fresh beets, fennel, apples, and carrots, ginger juice, and good olive oil (which you can buy in the shop next door). The scrambled eggs were incredibly delicious. The salmon was fresh and well-smoked. The espresso was top-notch.
Thanks also for the kettle and steamer in the room.
The omnipresent and perfect hosts offer guests dance evenings with a great atmosphere in the summer, wine tastings, and local creatives are allowed to sell tasteful jewelry, pottery, and art. The family also markets itself very well, whether with cosmetics, clothing, or high-quality leather goods. Guests are cared for from start to finish.
You have a great team of employees!
In conclusion: It was a bit too much of a fuss for us.

Absolutely top-notch! The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere; you feel instantly at ease upon entering, and the three owners and all the staff are incredibly warm and friendly. Our room was a dream, with a beautiful view, modern yet very cozy. There's a fantastic breakfast buffet with additional options, and the five-course dinner was also delicious. With the tourist card, you can use the cable cars and public transportation for free; you can reach Bolzano's city center by bus in half an hour.
The massage with Anna was one of the best I've ever had.
We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back! Thank you so much for the unforgettable weekend getaway!

A superb wellness hotel – and we've stayed at many in the same price range. The flair and ambiance are completely different from other hotels. Beautiful gardens, a fantastic salt pool, very stylish and modern furnishings that will make any designer's heart beat faster, with a fantastic view of the mountains.
The food is divine: fresh, regional, and plentiful breakfast, delicious lunch, and dinner—oh my goodness, dinner...
Everything was so delicious! High praise goes to the kitchen.

we spent a long weekend at the Hotel Muchele celebrating my 60th birthday. From the moment we were greeted, we felt right at home. The sisters and their father (the hotel owner) were incredibly kind and attentive. Always friendly and readily available – you don't find that very often; other hotels could learn a thing or two. The rooms were perfect, with air conditioning and everything you could want – nothing was left to be desired. The breakfast and the five-course dinner were simply superb – it was the life! I'd also like to mention the staff, who are always on the ball and clearly enjoy their work – guests can tell. (Greetings to Patrik!) The outdoor area is lovely, with two pools and a gym. There's plenty of space to relax. All in all, a top-notch hotel where everything is just right. I highly recommend it.

Our vacation at the Hotel Muchele in Burgstall near Merano was simply perfect! From the first cheerful "Hello" in the newsletter to the loving thank you email, which was packaged like a love letter – everything was magical.
Martina, Priska, and Anna are true jack-of-all-trades and pampered us in every way. Each of them fully embraces their talents. And together they are unbeatable. Anna's wellness center, in particular, completely relaxed us.
The atmosphere was simply WOW. The hotel combines stylish design with warm service, offers spacious rooms and suites, and a stunning infinity pool.

Pre-stay you already get an overview of all spa and activities to dive into. Post-stay you receive an email, a love letter, to ensure all was well. This hotel is a gem!
I got to know Muchele as part of a business offsite for female leadership, including wine tasting. In addition to vacation I can also recommend it for business purposes.

PARADISE ️ This place is STUNNING. This was such a romantic and relaxing place to stay. The owners have created something very special here, all the amenities you need to live first class while retaining the intimate feel of the surrounding town. The restaurant is superb, the dishes I ate here frequent my dreams. The pool and spa are world class, I got the best massage of my life. And the rooms have blackout shades that have me the best sleep! The staff treated us like family. I would move into this place and never leave if I could. I cannot wait to go back, I'm planning my return trip right now!

We had the pleasure of meeting the hotel owners. One evening, the TV in our room wasn't receiving Channel 5, and the owner herself offered us another room just to be able to watch TV. This is just a small part of the kindness they have at this hotel. It's modern, beautifully furnished, with extremely comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast with freshly made cappuccinos. Not to mention the spa, which is large and truly beautiful. In the evening, we also had a drink at the hotel bar, where they played Christmas music in the background. There are also plenty of board games on the tables, for both adults and children. We had a wonderful three days and will definitely be back.

On our road trip back home, we stopped off at the Hotel Muchele for a week at the end of November.
What can I say...
The reservation and the entire process were extremely straightforward, professional, and very warm from the start. The same goes for the welcome and check-in at the hotel.
The Moroso Penthouse Suite is very bright, stylish, offers plenty of space, and a spacious terrace with a whirlpool and stunning mountain panorama. Everything was always perfectly clean and lovingly arranged.
The staff are extremely friendly and anticipate your every need. They even smile when you're not looking...
Martina and Priska, and the entire team, know how to win over their guests with charm, unobtrusiveness, and typical South Tyrolean hospitality.
The culinary offerings also leave nothing to be desired. The breakfast buffet is very extensive: regional specialties, organic products, perfectly prepared coffee specialties from the fantastic Kuntrawant coffee roastery around the corner (in Lana - worth a visit!!!), freshly prepared egg dishes made to order, etc. What more could you want for a perfect start to the day?
Dinner, a 5-course menu with a choice of dishes, is one of the daily highlights at Muchele. It combines Mediterranean and Alpine cuisine at the highest level. If five courses aren't enough for you, you can indulge in the cheese buffet with perfectly aged South Tyrolean and Italian cheese specialties. The extensive and carefully selected wine list also leaves nothing to be desired. In addition to a myriad of excellent South Tyrolean wines (almost an entire page dedicated to Lagrein...), there are also the finest wines from all of Italy's top vineyards. Of particular note are the wines from the hotel's own vineyard in the Marche region, which is also run by the host family. (Insider tip: you can also stay overnight there!)
The wine tasting with Goran and Peter was also very entertaining and charming. A must-book! In addition to great wines, lovely anecdotes, and plenty of expert knowledge, there was also delicious speck, fine cheese, and, of course, hearty Schüttelbrot (a kind of bread). What more could you want?
The weather at the end of November was perfect, and we had around 14/15 degrees C every day.
The drinks at the bar are perfectly prepared, and the extensive selection is impressive. The service is exemplary here, too.
With the South Tyrol Card provided by the hotel, you can use almost all public transport and many mountain railways in the region free of charge. This means you can safely leave your car in the hotel garage. A bus stops right in front of the hotel every half hour and takes you to either Merano or Bolzano in no time. Even the Ritten cable car is included! A ride is worthwhile just for the mountain panorama and the famous earth pyramids.
The Anna Spa area is small, elegant, and offers everything you need. There are several saunas, an indoor and two outdoor pools, and a fitness area.
Helene, the compassionate massage artist, deserves special mention. We already miss her... We also highly recommend the beauty treatments.
All in all, a fantastic stay, a wonderful time, and we'll definitely be back soon.

It was a saving angel from the impending storm...late in the evening, after 204 km of cycling from Lazise via Cavaion up to Gargazon, I was cycling and actually wanted to go to the Quellenhof in the beautiful Passeier...the lightning and clouds made me decide to stop in Gargazon...how nice that they still had accommodation for me...such a wonderful welcome with friendliness and care...bike in the garage...my hunger was also satisfied...how nice that the chef prepared me a plate of wonderful pasta with fresh pomodorini late at night...a polite lady of the house brought me the late 'dinner' in the wonderfully beautiful refuge...after the two-day 'marathon' without a battery, with over 400 km in my bottom brackets and legs, I could now relax with the finest soap foam in the shower, embalm myself with grapefruit-scented body lotion from 'Anna' and gloriously Relax in an unmistakably fine bed with sensational sleeping comfort...like 1001 nights...waking up refreshed in the morning...a breakfast buffet prepared with lots of love and with a wide selection to suit all tastes awaited me...pure warm hospitality and an overall high standard characterise the Hotel Muchele and I still carry the thoughtful congratulations from the entire team on my later birthday in my heart and mind...thank you!

We discovered the hotel through thorough internet research and took the plunge and booked it – and we haven't regretted it! The entire interior and style of the hotel are definitely eye-catching. What impressed us even more, however, was the family-run management and the incredibly attentive and friendly service staff. We were more than satisfied with the food; a big compliment to the chef. The wellness area is small but perfectly formed. The saunas are very clean and smell great! Run by the amazing Granthal sisters, Muchele is a gem. We've travelled extensively and visited some of the finest resorts in the world, but few places would be on my "I need to come back here" list. Muchele is on that list. The setting is idyllic, nestled at the base of a mountain, the surroundings are breathtaking. Whether you want to stay put and enjoy the two pools, the spa the beautiful lobby, the well appointed rooms and their balconies, or you want to go out and explore the hundreds of incredible hikes, you can do it all at Muchele. And then there's the food. Patrick Holzner could easily be at the helm of a Michelin three star. The dinner menu is simply amazing. He changes his menu nightly based on the multitude of fresh offerings from the surroundings. Never saw Hibiscus on the menu, yet the Hibiscus ravioli is one of my favorites of the year. Truly this hotel is an amazing destination.

I would give more stars if I could. We come almost every year, and it's always fantastic. The staff are very attentive, warm, super friendly, and not fake. You feel very welcome as a guest here and return home with a tear in your eye because it's so beautiful. The hotel is family-run, and guests can feel the warmth of the Ganthaler family everywhere. The food is excellent, the furnishings are modern, top-notch in design, yet still very loving and cozy.
Here, they simply understand how important it is for guests to feel comfortable.

Much love and another 5 ️️️️️ for this wonderful hotel run by the Ganthaler family and the attentive staff. The hotel is on a road, but that doesn't bother you at all. We had a lodge with a pull-out couch that was as comfortable as a bed. The room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The two pools were fantastic. The saltwater pool (not heated) was wonderful for cooling off. There are loungers on different levels. The spa facilities were fantastic. The sauna looked lovely, but I didn't use it. The food! An incredible experience. The menus were dreamy. Prepared with love and excellent ingredients. Compliments to the chef and his team! The breakfast was also great, with various milk substitutes and a nice selection of cheeses and meats. And a juicer. The weekly disco was a hit. If you like to dance, you should definitely go there on Thursdays. Highly recommended. There are 5 electric charging stations. I'll definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful time.

After a long winter break, it was time to visit my secret love again. Luckily, Prad am Stilfserjoch is on our route, and we were able to enjoy a delicious Kuntrawant coffee break. From there, it wasn't far to Burgstall, where we greeted many familiar, smiling faces. A Negroni on arrival on the terrace quickly put us in the holiday mood. Then it was off to the penthouse suite and a quick dip in the warm whirlpool. After a bit of relaxing on the terrace with the last rays of sunshine, we were ready to enjoy a delicious dinner. Muchele's cuisine is an absolute dream, perfectly complemented by the fine wines from the cellar.
The beds and the starry sky glittering through the skylight allowed us to sleep wonderfully and restfully.
After breakfast, we went shopping in Merano and then to Lake Kaltern for lunch. Spring fever & pure indulgence.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed the Vinum for two at the Anna Spa. A wine bath followed by a massage with grape seed oil – a completely new way to enjoy wine, incredibly relaxing.
We were once again able to enjoy the warmth, cuisine, and cellar of Muchele.
Sleep soon overcame us, truly relaxing. Waking up to the aroma of freshly brewed Kuntrawant coffee – what else?
A quick trip to Lana to the new coffee house with a show roastery – great design, excellent coffee, and sensational éclairs.
A quick lunch on the Muchele terrace with a glass of rosé from Tenuta di Fra, and, sadly, departure is approaching.
As consolation, we've booked Muchele again in May, and in June we'll be heading to Poggio. Anticipation is, as we all know, the greatest joy.

The commitment of the three sisters, the concept, the brand, the architecture, and the view are outstanding. The cuisine surprises us every day with new highlights. The service is very good. The rooms are beautifully furnished. We had a suite with a whirlpool on the top floor.
The only criticism: the street noise, not from the highway (which is relatively low), but from the traffic in front of the hotel.
At the very top, we could clearly hear it from 6:30 a.m. On the ground floor, it's barely audible due to the location. We were informed of this in advance, and the hosts are exceptional people, hence the 5 stars. The Muchele is a highlight!

There's a great little wellness area with an indoor and outdoor pool.
The welcoming hosts are truly unique.
Unfortunately, the room was in unacceptable condition for a 4-star superior hotel.
The walls had scratches and marks everywhere, the furniture had dents, the bed was fraying, and the sofa fabric had seen better days.
The closets, ceiling, and ventilation all showed signs of wear.
The room was nevertheless very clean, and the bathroom, unlike the room, was in very good condition.
Unfortunately, the safe didn't work either; it had probably been "forgotten" during the inspection.
The condition of the room somewhat marred the pleasant stay, which is why it's a bit overpriced for what it offers.
