We have been guests at the Vilpianerhof repeatedly since 2015 – and every time it feels like coming home. The family owners run the hotel with so much heart, warmth, and attention that you feel welcome from the very first moment. They literally anticipate our wishes – and those of our children. Everything feels genuine, loving, and familiar, without being forced. This special sense of togetherness, combined with the excellent cuisine, the refined ambiance, and the warmth of the entire team, makes the Vilpianerhof one of the absolute top hotels in South Tyrol for us.

Two-night stay on August 15, 2025, two adults and a 1.5-year-old child.
Room 8: dated, carpeted throughout, no air conditioning, but very spacious, with a good bathroom and a large terrace.
Very good food, varied and catering to all tastes. Special requests for children can also be made.
Plenty of free parking spaces, both indoor and outdoor.
The spa area is lovely, although it could use some updating.
Excellent service.

Until now, my family and I had a strict policy of never traveling to the same place twice, let alone to the same hotel.
The team at the Vilpianerhof managed to shatter this resolution in a very short time.
From the very first moment, we felt completely at home. Our every wish was anticipated – some hotels that advertise their 5-star rating could learn more than a thing from their own.
We can fully confirm the reviews of other users who praise the food. Even our son overcame his reservations about a five-course meal on the first evening and was thrilled by the culinary delights.
I would especially like to praise the service and friendliness of the owners and all their staff – they truly made our stay a very special experience – we are already looking forward to the next one.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Vilpianerhof and can highly recommend it!
From the warm friendliness of the staff to the excellent cuisine – everything was simply perfect. The team was very helpful and accommodating, which made the stay particularly pleasant.
Another highlight was the excellent wine selection! The advice from the staff was first-class. You could feel their passion and knowledge about wine, and thanks to their recommendations, we were able to enjoy some wonderful wines.
The cuisine was simply fantastic – freshly prepared and of high quality. Every meal was a delight for the senses, and we were delighted to enjoy so many regional specialties.
The family atmosphere immediately welcomed us, and we felt like part of the family.
We can only say that we would love to come back!

We have been enjoying a few wonderful days at the Vilpianerhof for many years. Under the motto “Enjoy your Life”, guests’ every wish is met. Every guest is welcomed with such warmth that they immediately feel at home. From the rich breakfast buffet to the wonderful evening menu, no wish is left unfulfilled when it comes to dining. You can get insider tips for hikes and excursions from the innkeeper at any time. And after a strenuous day you can relax in the wellness area. For us, the Vilpianerhof is the perfect address for a relaxing holiday in the Merano area. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

The hotel's cuisine is outstanding. Very creative, diverse, and very fine, with a Mediterranean touch; the refinement of Italian cuisine is hard to miss. A feast for the palate, from the appetizer buffet and soup to the entrees, main course, and dessert. The hotel has a private sauna and an indoor pool, as well as a small natural pond and Kneipp pool with a sunbathing lawn. Unfortunately, through traffic and the train are a bit noisy, but you can get used to it. In good weather, there are countless hikes to choose from, followed by a relaxing sauna.

Excellent location, close to a highway that takes you to both Bolzano and Merano in just a few minutes. The owners and staff are very hospitable and friendly. The food is excellent, starting with an appetizer buffet, followed by a choice of three main courses, and dessert/fruit. The breakfast buffet is very varied. They provide a card that allows free use of public transportation, and many museums are also free. The pool and wellness center are very nice. The common areas have been renovated; the room was a bit dated and lacked power outlets at the headboards, but still, a highly recommended hotel.

You feel very comfortable in this hotel. The service is excellent. The pool and fitness facilities leave nothing to be desired.
The food is varied; however, we weren't entirely satisfied with the meat selection. It wasn't what we're used to, but rather a bit tough and overcooked in some parts. But then again, tastes differ. (That's why only 4 instead of 5 stars!).

After a long Corona break, we're back for a short break and the service is still fantastic, with a superb breakfast and a great 4-5 course dinner.
However, air conditioning in the room would sometimes be desirable. Underground parking is free with the option to charge electric cars (for a fee). Rental bikes with service are also available.

Let me put it this way: guests are greeted very warmly by the staff or the owner himself; I've never experienced anything like it before. Special requests are gladly fulfilled. I highly recommend the half-board option, because the kitchen manages to delight guests anew every day. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. We would be delighted to be guests here again.

When the weather is nice, you can have breakfast or dinner on the cozy terrace. The wellness area is beautifully designed, with an indoor pool, whirlpool, and in the garden there is a beautifully landscaped swimming pond, a wonderful sunbathing lawn, and a Kneipp water path. A large underground garage and outdoor parking are also included. Bicycles for rent and countless excursion options are also plentiful! Highly recommended!

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Vilpianerhof between Christmas and New Year's. The whole family made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious throughout our stay, and we were treated to a fantastic buffet on New Year's Eve.
As a dog owner, I can highly recommend the Vilpianerhof. The owner is a real animal lover and always took great care of our dog, Eddie.
