Having learned about it through friends in Florence, we stayed in the splendid Cocoon suites. The location and the view are marvelous, the sky pool is one of a kind and worth a visit. I don't know what to say about the spa or the pools because we were leaving in the morning to tour all of Trentino and its historic mountain huts.
The cuisine was perhaps too refined, but not abundant and lacking in local flavor, but the service and staff were impeccable. This hotel, and I'd say the entire valley, is perfect for those seeking relaxation, silence, and the desire to spend time with their partner. And here you achieve just that.

Its my family staple and this year I decided to go with my boyfriend, it has made a giant impression on him and he said we wants to go again next year. This hotel truly makes you feel special, because of the small amounts of guests and a lot of staff. The food was also very delightful I loved the tartufo pasta. And I loved the van pickup at the ski slope. The only small details I would change is that the skypool was a bit cold and should be heated 3-4 celsius higher, especially the jacuzzi. And the battery in the weighing scale was empty (room 801) Thanknyou for the experience and special thanks to our server at dinner Isma.

We stayed at Hotel Fanes after much deliberation since there are seemingly hundreds of 5-star hotels in the Dolomites to choose from, and what ultimately drew us in were the stunning views and the tremendous spa facilities. The property is beautiful, the service was excellent, and the breakfast buffet was truly outstanding.
The bedding is phenomenal. SO soft and plush, and Scandinavian style comforters.
That said, there were a few drawbacks worth noting. The overall vibe of the hotel leaned more toward a traditional, older, and somewhat stuffy scene than we had hoped for (keep in mind we went in September). While that’s not unusual for a luxury resort in Italy, we were searching for something a bit more relaxed and contemporary.
Dinner was also not quite our style. Seating is assigned, and you’re expected to sit at the same table each night with the same neighbors and the same view. We only dined in once, as we preferred to explore amazing nearby restaurants.
While the spa facilities are incredible, the instructions were extremely unclear. We only stumbled upon a rules packet (in German/Italian only) on our 2nd day, which made us realize we had been doing many things “wrong.” The basement spa in particular has wonderful amenities—Turkish baths, saunas, high-pressure showers, even a sink dispensing shaved ice?, also trays of salts and masks—but without guidance, it left us guessing and feeling a bit awkward as you are required to be naked, so we were naked and confused.
Overall, Hotel Fanes is a beautiful, high-end property with exceptional amenities. Just brush up on your spa know-how before you go!

Our stay in Hotel Fanes was great by all means. The service level is top, everything is taken care of on the highest level. The food is probably the best we had in Italy, from the breakfast buffet, to the afternoon snack and the evening desserts which are Michelin restaurant level. Most importantly, the atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxed and cozy. When you sit in the lobby bar in the evening with the live music after a long hike, its vacation in its purest form. All the stuff members are welcoming and helpful, and the children playroom offers plenty of activities.
One small comment I have is about the room: we had a Superior Junior Suite. The room was spacious but the plan is such that only the living room has a balcony window, and the bedroom, separated by a door, doesn't. So, we couldn't get the door closed at night as this blocks the air from coming into the living room.
Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Fanes as a great establishment and hope to be back there one day.

We really appreciated the owner who introduced herself during dinner and chatted with the guests.
The hotel accepts our four-legged friends and this is important.
Ours was a beautiful room, spacious and bright, equipped with a bathroom separate from the service area, equipped with a large and well-equipped walk-in closet, safe and mini bar, with espresso machine.

Pool opening times:
Indoor swimming pool, heated 30 - from 07.30 to 20.00;
Outdoor swimming pool, heated 31 - from 12:00 to 20:00;

The gym is available from 07:00 to 20:00.
Very large wellness area, with various relaxation rooms and an elevated outdoor sauna that rotates 360 and is unique in its kind.
The hotel also has a private heliport.
A note on the cleanliness of the room which needs more attention and on the evening menu, a little inconsistent for a five star hotel.
However, if you like a structure that offers a wide range of high standing services and attention to the guest's needs, this is the right place.

This family owned resort sure does give an intimate feel. The history behind this hotel goes way back. We went towards the end of the ski season. So it was very quiet at the hotel. High class, amazing suites, food, staff, CLEAN rooms/common areas (very clean pool waters) and great location with mountain views. Well mannered friendly staff catering to our needs. They made sure to make us feel comfortable. The best ski locker room and direct shuttle to the ski slopes. Caters to wellness seriously. The elder owner of the hotel greeted us at dinner asking how our stay was which felt special. This resort is great for adults looking to getaway and have a stress free vacation. I can’t wait to go back.

The room, a junior suite, was very spacious, stylishly furnished, and always perfectly clean. We particularly appreciated the Nespresso machine. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, without being overly condescending. The breakfast buffet had everything you could wish for, from regional cheeses and sausage specialties to fresh egg dishes and a very large selection of sweet treats. In the evening, there was a fantastic buffet of appetizers and antipasti, followed by a three-course menu. The vegetarian options, in particular, were always fantastic. The sauna area is truly spacious, with ample relaxation areas. An absolute highlight is the 360-degree sauna with views of the Dolomites and the Sky Pool! We had a truly wonderful stay and can definitely recommend the hotel.

I just finished my last vacation and I must admit that the hotel maintains very high standards.
The wellness area has been enhanced with a stunning, spacious, rotating and suspended sauna. A special mention goes to Mr. Zoran ("Zorro"), who is responsible for distributing the heat flow within the sauna through intense physical activity, made more enjoyable by small exercises of illusionism combined with a friendly atmosphere.
In short, the Fanes Hotel deserves a special mention in the panorama of hotel hospitality in Val Badia.

The spa area is huge and well-maintained. The pool area is a bit dated, but still well-kept and beautiful. The sky pool is absolutely stunning, and the whirlpool right next to it is equally lovely.
The room was clean, well-maintained, and nice, but not very spacious – we were upgraded due to low occupancy. Thanks again for that!
The staff is friendly and helpful. The buffet is generous and beautifully presented with great attention to detail. Towards the end, some items were a bit worn.
The service is attentive and friendly. Not top-notch, but good. The plates served at dinner service are very clean and arranged with great care – but evening service does take some time.
Unfortunately, the reception was rather utilitarian. They didn't ask about our arrival or how we had experienced our stay at the hotel. This was a bit of a shame.
The hotel organizes various excursions at very reasonable prices. We also signed up for one of these trips. The excursion was well-organized and exciting.
The parking situation is a bit unusual. Our card didn't work in P1 and P2. P3 was the furthest away, so we always had to walk through the entire spa area to get to our hotel room. Not a big deal, but a little strange since there were other parking lots available.
All in all, a very nice and pleasant stay.
We paid €3800 for one week, including breakfast and dinner.

I had a wonderful time. The facility is truly beautiful and spacious, offering a large recreation area with a bar, card and board games next to the entrance. The first floor is dedicated to a restaurant with a large buffet offering a wide range of culinary options, while the lower one floor hosts a large spa where you can relax and is open all day. The facility is easy to reach and overlooks the mountain. It lacks breathtaking views, but it still offers a beautiful view of the Piz Sorega lift. The gym is small, with weights up to 10 kg, but there are also multifunctional machines for a more intense workout. For the little ones, there is a mini-club where they can spend time playing with other children and the ladies who keep an eye on them. There is a ski room with a locker for each room and a shuttle service that takes you to the lifts from morning to evening. On weekends, they organize after-dinner entertainment with guests singing and playing music. It truly has everything you need.

The service was excellent. The ski service in particular was outstanding. All the drivers were amazing. Everyone was attentive, kind and ready to help. The live music at night was wonderful. We really enjoyed the guitarist duo. We did not like the female and male duo with the piano.

The hotel deserves its 5 stars! Excellent restaurant, incredibly delicious food and drinks, cozy rooms, excellent service! Bathrobes and slippers are provided for every guest, a welcome treat is offered in the room, a kettle is available upon request, and linens and towels are changed daily. The wellness area and sauna deserve special mention! I was delighted with the pools, especially the outdoor one! Swim in the warm pool and then jump into the jacuzzi! A paradise for sauna lovers – something for every taste!

Our stay at Hotel Fanes was almost perfect.
The large and beautiful junior suite was a perfect place to relax.
Both the bar and restaurant offer a wide selection of international drinks and dishes, with very attentive staff who cater to our guests' needs.
Although the panoramic sauna was currently under renovation, we still found everything we were looking for in the existing sauna area, from steam baths to Finnish saunas.
In summary: a wonderful long weekend!

We were upgraded to a new Cocoon Suite and were absolutely thrilled – very high-quality and lovingly furnished, spotlessly clean, and very spacious. We truly felt at home and will definitely be back!

The location deserves a 10, but the hotel is definitely not 5-star. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the facility and spa were too dated. The food wasn't up to 5-star standards, especially the buffet. But the real drawback was that if we wanted to use the pool on the day of departure, we had to pay a supplement of €25 per person for two hours.

A DREAM of a hotel! My husband and I were there last week, it was absolutely AMAZING. The staff was super friendly, the food was top-notch, and the swimming pools, sauna, and relaxation areas were indescribable. The hotel is so lovingly decorated; we felt completely at ease. Magnificent hotel, we didn't regret our choice! The staff is very kind and friendly. We tried the massages and they were very good. Nothing to say about the services and the food, which are perfect. Yes, the menu quantities are small, but if you did the 4-hour meal (sweet and savory), the aperitif (lots of little things to eat), the buffet (salad, cold meats, cheeses, desserts), I can tell you that we were very happy to have small portions so as not to waste food. We ate way too much ourselves.
The only thing we can comment on is our bathroom, which had a very ugly repair (not worthy of a 5-star hotel) and there was only one tissue left in the Kleenex box.

A very nice, well-located hotel where dogs are welcome!
The hotel is well-located for starting activities by car (skiing, hiking, Dolomites, etc.).
Our suite was very nice with impressive views of the Dolomites.
The wellness area is modern with a drinks/tea bar and plenty of loungers.
The staff were extremely accommodating, and the breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The lunch snack was extensive and more than enough!
The dinner and wine list were excellent!
The cleaning lady was so pleased with the tip by the bed that she wrote very kind words on a note for us as a "thank you."
Upon departure, we were given drinks and fruit for the drive home and treats for the dog.
There was a note in the car saying that the windshield had been cleaned and that they wished us a safe journey.

Excellent facility, strategic location in the wonderful setting of San Ciascian in Badia, excellent services, international-caliber restaurant (it's a shame it doesn't adequately showcase the excellent dishes and local products), top-notch spa and wellness center, and top-notch professionalism.
Kudos to the various staff and workers, especially those in the restaurant, bar, and housekeeping departments for their great helpfulness and courtesy.
It's just a shame that guests are charged extra for simple sandwiches and small snacks, and we're talking just a few euros, given the substantial but consistent price tag of a high-end five-star hotel (and I'm not referring to drinks at the bar, which rightly cost extra).
In any case, a truly ideal place to spend a vacation in the heart of the Dolomites...

I stayed for a weekend in September. The property deserves all its 5 stars, from the food to the spa and pools, the rooms, and the restaurant. The staff is very attentive to guests, both at the reception and in the dining room. The price is certainly not cheap, but everything is included... breakfast, snacks, dinner, use of the pools and spa, heated covered parking, and in the winter, I imagine, even a ski room. Breakfast is fantastic... there's everything sweet and savory, yogurt, cereals, juices, smoothies, eggs of all kinds... very generous! Snacks are also available... but drinks are not included. Dinner is excellent, with a buffet of appetizers, a choice of three first courses and three second courses plus dessert. The wine list is extensive, starting from €30 and going up to €500 or more. The pool area is fantastic, spotlessly clean and well-equipped, as are the saunas, showers, and numerous relaxation rooms. The outdoor skypool is a 25-meter heated pool with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. If you have a birthday, you'll even get a surprise cake. The room is beautiful, clean, and functional. Excellent, free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Very tidy garage. So, a very positive review. A magical place to get away, even if just for a few days, to relax without having to worry about anything. Of course, the location is splendid, a little above San Cassiano with 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains. I recommend it to everyone without hesitation. I'll be back!

What can I say: spectacular! The view is fantastic, especially from the panoramic pool. The water isn't terribly hot, 32 degrees Celsius, but if there's even a little wind, it seems cooler. The hot tub is much warmer, as it's smaller and retains the heat better.
There are enough sunbeds for all guests.
The restaurant is top-notch and the buffet is amazing. There's everything and more, even the afternoon snack buffet (from 4 to 5:30 PM) has everything, high-quality sweet and savory, obviously excluding drinks.
The staff is extremely friendly and they all speak Italian.
The restaurant menu is varied, with well-balanced Italian and South Tyrolean dishes.
Parking is onsite, and the valet takes care of the car.
The room—ours, the last available—was a Piz la Lla room on the third floor. It was spacious but had no view. The bathroom had both a tub and a shower. The Trussardi products were very good.
The only flaw in a 5-star hotel is that the minibar should be included.
The pools are spotless, as is the rest of the property.
We were given a complimentary jar of honey upon checkout.

Superlative! This adjective could be the last word. But it's worth exploring further. The hotel is located in San Cassiano in Alta Val Badia, nestled in a stunning Dolomite landscape. It's a 5-star luxury hotel, absolutely extraordinary in terms of both the quality of its spaces and its services. The Sky Pool, overlooking the nature and woods of Val Badia, is truly beautiful. The hotel has 70 rooms and exclusive chalet suites, and a newly expanded 4,000-square-meter spa offering exclusive treatments using the Caveau Beauté line, for which the hotel is the exclusive distributor. Chef Claudio De Marc's cuisine is excellent. His compositions are highly creative and his dishes are artistically presented. The breakfast is superb. The owners, Rudolf and Ingrid, who is also the spa manager, are extremely friendly and cheerful. The staff, at all levels, are equally cheerful and professional. In the dining room, the two "Giuseppes" stand out: "Giuseppe B" is the Maitre, with great professionalism and style, while "Giuseppe M" is the chef de rang with an irrepressible Neapolitan charm. A hint of Mediterranean exuberance that the exclusive clientele of Fanes proves they know how to appreciate in the shadow of the Dolomites! (Visited for Giornale Sentire on June 18-20, 2021).

You can order egg dishes directly from the kitchen, so they're always freshly cooked. Overall, the wellness area is lovely, although the sauna area still has room for improvement, such as the artificial river. Unfortunately, it's not pleasantly warm throughout the hotel. This is especially noticeable in the sauna area and the bathroom. The bathroom only has a switch for the heating, which has a timer that's too short. The dinner was of very good quality. Despite the relatively small portions, we were always very full very quickly.

It recently received its fifth star, I think for the truly beautiful sky pool. The strong point of this property is the amenities: heated pools and a stunning spa. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Why am I giving it three stars? Because it lacks the mountain atmosphere, the rooms aren't great, and their cleanliness is more like a tidying up. The most negative aspect for me is the food: it strives for gourmet cuisine but doesn't quite achieve it, and the true mountain flavors are almost absent. Dishes rich in ingredients that seem to have been randomly selected, resulting in soulless dishes. The food isn't bad, mind you, but, with a few exceptions, you don't leave feeling happy. Then again... it's a matter of taste.

Very, very disappointed. Didn't live up to expectations. As soon as we arrived, we ate on the terrace. The waitress was rude, the tablecloth was wet and hadn't been changed, and the platter of local cheeses and cured meats was disappointing and poorly prepared. At dinner, in addition to there being only one type of butter, only a single piece remained shortly after we sat down. I asked the waiter if he could bring me some butter, but unfortunately, none arrived.
The food didn't meet the standards of a 5-star hotel.
They didn't make the rooms in the evening. The glasses in the room were never changed for four days. The fruit plate in the room was beyond comment.
The tablecloths in the bar room where we played cards were always covered in crumbs.
Excellent wellness center. Patrizia was excellent.
Very nice spa.
The staff were few but friendly.
An experience not to be repeated.
I recommend Rosa Alpina, La Perla, and Gardena in Ortisei.

Hotel and spa in San Cassiano which has a massive outdoor sky pool and various saunas as well as a range of beauty treatments. Go for the Natura loft which has its own sauna and outside space as well as a bath in the room. There is a shuttle to and from the ski lift and they also take you down to sort out your skis. It’s half board and one disappointing aspect is the inflexibility of the table arrangement at dinner. If you don’t like the table allocated by management you’re stuck with it, there is no negotiating!

We arrived at the wonderful Fanes refuge with the owner's snowcat and chatted with the owners, who were truly helpful and kind. Having recommended a trip to a nearby mountain hut, we immediately set off on snowshoes, immersed in a breathtaking panorama, walking through the freshly fallen snow. At the top of the cross, we were left speechless by the indescribable mountains. When we returned to the refuge for lunch, the welcome and the food were truly excellent. The atmosphere had something special, that magical touch of synergy between man and nature. We also managed to admire and photograph the flora and fauna.
We can't wait to return soon.
