You feel warmly welcomed from the moment you arrive. The attentive hosts, Gabi and Franz Hilpold, are available around the clock and offer assistance in every situation.
This also includes Mario.
The entire staff is very attentive, always friendly and cheerful, and caters to all guest requests. The evening meal service runs like clockwork.
The entire hotel and spa area is impeccably clean.
Special praise is due to the excellent food and the courage of the chef, Manuel, to create new dishes, often based on traditional ones, thus embodying "his" cuisine. The menu is often worthy of a Michelin star in terms of product quality, freshness of ingredients, presentation, and preparation. It can often rival renowned chefs like Fonsi and Hermann.
A visit to Alina in the beautifully maintained massage area was also excellent.
If one were to look for a minor drawback, it would be the small tripping hazards in the spa area, which might deviate slightly from the 4-star standard for someone over 80.
We look forward to our next visit and to another meal with Manuel.

We stayed at Hotel SUN for the 8th and 9th time in September and October, respectively, and were just as delighted as on our previous visits.
From the moment you arrive, you feel warmly welcomed. The attentive hosts, Gabi and Franz Hilpold, are available around the clock and always have new hiking suggestions ready.
The entire staff is very attentive, always friendly and cheerful, and caters to every guest's needs. Cleanliness is a top priority throughout the hotel and spa area. The grounds are also very well maintained.
Special praise is due to the excellent food. The appetizer and salad buffet, especially on themed evenings, is exceptional for a 4-star hotel. The subsequent menu and themed evenings are worthy of a Michelin star in terms of product quality, freshness of ingredients, presentation, and preparation. Head chef Manuel Hilpold surprises guests daily with new, sometimes unusual, creations. The desserts are also a feast for the eyes. To finish, there is a selection of cheeses and ice cream available.
The meal deserves special praise. The aperitif and wine list offers an excellent selection at a fair price.
The value for money is unbeatable compared to other 4-star hotels in South Tyrol.
The bus stop is about a 3-minute walk from the hotel. With the free South Tyrol Guest Pass, you can explore almost all of South Tyrol or simply start walking from the hotel.
We are already looking forward to our next stay in May and are excited to see the extension and the new suites, which will be completed by then.

We had a truly perfect stay at Hotel Sun in Natz! We received a warm welcome upon arrival and immediately felt at home. The entire team is incredibly hospitable, attentive, and always in good spirits – you can tell they work with heart.
The food was simply fantastic – a delight from morning till night! The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired, and in the evenings, we were treated to lovingly prepared menus that were both visually stunning and delicious.
The rooms are also very clean, modern, and comfortable, with a magnificent view of the South Tyrolean mountains. The spa area is perfect for relaxation, and the area around Natz is ideal for excursions, hikes, and leisure activities.
We will definitely be back – Hotel Sun is a true gem in South Tyrol!

Our stay at the Hotel Sun in Natz was an all-around fantastic experience. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Hilpold, are passionate about their work – whether in the kitchen, at the reception, in the service area, or at the bar – and are always very attentive to their guests. This personal service creates a warm and intimate atmosphere.
The cuisine is a true highlight: Dinner is prepared with love, with particular emphasis on the use of regional ingredients. Each dish impresses with its freshness, quality, and remarkable flavor – a true delight for all the senses.
The service, especially from Mr. Bojan, was exceptionally attentive, friendly, witty, and appreciative. His charming manner perfectly rounded off our stay.
The rooms are also very spacious and spotlessly clean – a big compliment to the dedicated cleaning team, who ensure the highest standards of cleanliness every day.

We had an absolutely perfect stay at the Hotel Sun!
We received an incredibly warm welcome upon arrival – the friendliness and attentiveness of the entire staff is truly exceptional and immediately makes you feel at home.
The cuisine is an absolute highlight: varied, creative, and of the highest quality. Every course was a delight, prepared with great attention to detail and beautifully presented.
The hotel's location couldn't be better: surrounded by apple orchards, sunny and quiet, yet an ideal starting point for tours in the Dolomites, to Bressanone, or the many excursion destinations in South Tyrol.
I would also like to particularly emphasize the sophisticated ambience: everything is in top condition, stylishly furnished, and designed with a great sense of harmony. You can feel that great importance is placed on quality and cleanliness here.
In short: a place to relax, enjoy, and explore – we will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Sun. The welcome was warm from the moment I arrived, and the entire staff was very attentive. The atmosphere is pleasant and immediately makes you feel at home.
The dinner was simply outstanding – from the selection to the quality of the food, everything was top-notch. Each course was freshly prepared, perfectly balanced in taste, and served with great attention to detail. I was particularly impressed by the regional touch of the cuisine.
The breakfast buffet was also extensive and varied, so there was truly something for every taste. The cleanliness of the rooms, the comfortable beds, and the good service rounded out my stay.
Overall, a very good hotel that I can wholeheartedly recommend. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Tomorrow will be the last day of this wonderful vacation
at the Hotel SUN.
It's our third stay in recent years. If you ask me why, simply because the hotel is wonderful.
Let's start with the rooms: clean, comfortable, and spacious. The common areas are well-kept and quiet, with sofas inside and seating outside.

The spa is beautiful and offers all the amenities, with an outdoor pool, part of which is covered, an artificial lake with loungers, a hot tub, and an additional outdoor sauna to enjoy the view.
Well-kept gardens where you can sunbathe or relax in the shade.
These aren't the only strong points.
The breakfast and dinner are nothing short of sublime; on par with a Michelin-starred restaurant, with constantly changing menus over the course of a fortnight, with the added bonus of spaced tables for privacy.
We thank all the very kind staff and the Hilpold family, owners of this magnificent property.

Superb place. Extremely clean. Dinner worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant. You can tell every second of your stay that each guest isn't just a number, but a person to be pampered. The owners are friendly and have genuine smiles. The pool isn't huge, but it's quaint, and the renovated artificial lake is perfect for relaxing. The entire relaxation area is beautiful and quiet... two wonderful days, and we can't wait to return.

The rooms and the entire complex are lovingly designed and very well-maintained. The wellness area is 5-star standard. There are plenty of loungers by the pool. Breakfast and dinner leave nothing to be desired. The Hilpert family is very warm and welcoming. The staff is very attentive and professional. The location is ideal as a starting point for all activities.
We have been here twice now and will definitely return.
A small note, which doesn't deduct points:
In summer temperatures, the rooms get very warm because there is no air conditioning.

Our stay at the Hotel Sun in Natz was simply a complete success. The hotel is modern, stylish, and very well-maintained – furnished with great attention to detail.
What makes the hotel special are the people. The two owners don't push themselves into the spotlight, but you immediately notice that they run the hotel with heart. They are always there when you need something – helpful, present, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive.
A big compliment also to Elisa, our waitress, who made every day a little more enjoyable with her friendly, attentive, and warm manner. You simply feel at ease and in good hands.
Dinner was a real culinary highlight. The 6-course menu was outstanding every evening – very high-quality, creative, varied, and lovingly prepared. Definitely worthy of a Michelin star for us.
The wellness area invites you to unwind, the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, and the location is ideal for excursions or simply relaxing.
In short: If you're looking for a hotel with style, genuine warmth, and great cuisine, the Hotel Sun is the place for you. We'll definitely be back!

I came to this hotel on the friendly recommendation of a friend and am completely thrilled!
The rooms are simply and tastefully furnished in the best sense of the word (no over-the-top decor). The bed is very comfortable – I've rarely slept so well on the first visit.
The food was outstanding, plentiful, very tasteful, and seasoned with finesse.
The entire complex is very well maintained, and there's a varied daily program with hikes, yoga, Pilates, Qi Gang, etc. Some of these take place in the yurt located in the garden or in front of it.
Much more information about the hotel and its facilities can be found on the website, which I won't go into further detail.
But now to a very relevant point. I've been fortunate enough to stay in various hotels of different categories. These are hosts in the best sense of the word. I felt very welcome right away. Thank you for that!
I could probably say a lot more positive things, as I didn't notice anything negative (at all) – in the two days since I was back, I've already recommended the hotel to three people. I think that says it all.

We stayed at this hotel for the 7th time in June, and as always, our stay was a complete success. We've already visited several 4-star hotels in South Tyrol, and the SUN offers the best value for money in this category.
In our opinion, the service is what sets it apart from other hotels. We've never experienced such thoughtful, warm, and courteous service from all the staff in a hotel before. A huge compliment to the entire staff. You feel comfortable and welcome immediately upon arrival. The owners are also very friendly and approachable at any time, always offering useful suggestions; nothing is impossible.
The food has always been excellent and varied in the past. The new head chef, Manuel, has surpassed the previous high standards with his creative, reinterpreted creations. The drinks selection is also excellent, and the prices are right.
There are beautiful hiking trails directly from the hotel, and the bus stop is about 3 minutes away. With the free South Tyrol Guest Pass, you can explore almost all of South Tyrol by bus and train.
The cleanliness throughout the hotel and the beautifully maintained wellness area are also particularly noteworthy.
We are already looking forward to our next two stays in the fall.

The service, competence, and friendliness of the staff are exceptional, as is that of the hosts.
The cuisine is particularly noteworthy.
The evening menu, with up to six courses, is, in my opinion, top-notch and surprises with new highlights every day...
The wellness area, with several saunas and excellent massages, is also outstanding.
The infinity pool is warm and beautifully landscaped, but you can also swim inside, and there's also a small, lovely natural swimming pond. My convertible was safely parked in the underground garage...
The location is quiet and an ideal starting point for hikes of all kinds.
In conclusion, I would go back anytime and, for me, it's one of the best places I've visited in recent years.

Many words aren't needed. Everything about this hotel is just perfect. All the staff exude a sense of calm and are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern and very clean.
Breakfast has everything your heart desires. Dinner is superbly delicious and beautifully presented. The wellness area is excellent, large, and very clean. The natural swimming pond is fantastic. There are always plenty of loungers in the wellness area, by the swimming pond, and at the two pools. (You don't have to reserve towels.)
There are sports and hiking options every day. Our room with an infrared cabin and terrace was fantastic and spacious enough.
Bressanone and Bolzano are worth a trip. The massages were relaxing and professional. Thank you for the wonderful week.

My wife and I stayed one night on a half-board basis. The hotel is practically perfect: clean, fragrant throughout, the pool and spa area are beautiful, and the relaxation area lives up to its name. The staff is friendly, helpful, and available. The rooms are beautiful. The spa area is very well organized, with designated areas for collecting clean towels and baskets for storing used ones. The gourmet dinner has small portions, but is complemented by a generous buffet offering practically everything.
The view from both the restaurant and the pool is beautiful, with mountain views.

We enjoyed a few wonderful, relaxing days at the Hotel Sun as a couple.
Everything is just perfect here, from the beautifully furnished and very clean rooms to the delicious food. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired and is topped off by the multi-course dinner.
The wellness area is a wonderful place to unwind. There are several relaxation areas, four saunas, and a swimming pool.
I especially like the fact that the owners and their wife are involved in everything, just like the entire staff, and are always there to help and advise.
This certainly won't be our last vacation here.

Not much to say, a fantastic hotel, the best you can find. The attention to detail is fantastic, from the furnishings to the room extras, like complimentary fresh fruit.
Dinner features refined, tasting-worthy dishes, preceded by a buffet that allows you to truly enjoy your meal. Breakfast is superb.
The spa is magnificent; the indoor/outdoor pool is beautiful, and the relaxation area has a breathtaking view.

We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday; we can't fault it at all—pure relaxation. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The hosts themselves are involved in every aspect. The spa area is superb and very well-maintained, and the pool is a really nice size for swimming. We had several treatments, which were truly fantastic.
The breakfast and dinner were exceptionally good and fantastic.
And all at an unbeatable price.
This definitely won't be our last visit and we're already looking forward to our next holiday at the Sun.
And we were able to personally "experience" the guests with the previous negative review, beyond words.

The Hilpold family and their entire team are incredibly attentive, warm, and welcoming hosts. Guests are truly the focus, and this is immediately apparent upon entering the hotel. We felt completely at ease.
The pools and spa offer wonderful opportunities to relax and unwind. We were particularly impressed by the fantastic sports massage – it comes highly recommended. The therapist is highly skilled and provides expert advice and treatments.
The hotel and rooms are stylishly and modernly furnished. Cleanliness is clearly a top priority.
The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. The six-course dinner menu is exceptionally delicious and of very high quality. Drinks are offered at fair prices. Overall, the value for money is excellent.
A particularly great feature is the option to participate in complimentary yoga and Pilates classes at the hotel – highly recommended. Additionally, mountain bikes and even e-mountain bikes are available for rent at the hotel (for a fee).
The hotel also offers mountain bikes and even e-mountain bikes for rent. In the lobby, you can find out about the mountain weather and possible excursions, and the staff will also give you great tips.
There's a small supermarket less than two minutes from the hotel.
There's plenty of parking, including spacious underground parking spaces (for an extra charge).
We're already looking forward to our next stay! :)

The hotel is located in the quiet village of Natz, surrounded by countless apple orchards. The hotel and its rooms are beautifully furnished. Ours even had its own infrared sauna. In the morning, there's a rich breakfast buffet with everything you could need. In the evening, there's a 6-course menu, some buffet-style, some served at your table. The staff is very friendly. The hotel also has a spa area with a sauna, natural swimming pond, whirlpool, indoor and outdoor pools, indoor and outdoor loungers, as well as relaxation rooms and a fitness room. There's also ample parking. Our 14-day stay was very enjoyable, and we would return anytime. Especially since two weeks weren't enough to see everything the surrounding area has to offer.

The Hotel Sun is a gem of South Tyrol!
We felt very comfortable throughout our entire stay and will definitely book another vacation here.
The hotel is family-run, authentic, and professionally run. The Hotel Sun is a private brand.
The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, and dinner is a culinary journey that leaves nothing to be desired. In the evening, the hotel owners also serve (!).
The area is ideal for excursions into the city, the high alpine region (e.g., the Brenner Pass), the Ötzi Museum, and much more, and every type of hiker will find something to their liking.
The wellness and sauna area is an oasis of relaxation!
We spent some "sunny" days thanks to a personal recommendation and will recommend it to others.

This was our first, but certainly not our last, stay at the Hotel Sun. We spent a wonderful and relaxing week there. Everything is just perfect: the room and the entire hotel building are cozy and tastefully decorated and offer a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains, the food is fantastic, the service is very attentive, all the staff are very friendly and helpful, everything is very clean, and the spa area leaves nothing to be desired. It's also very nice that the owners, Franz and Gabi Hilpold, are always there to help. The entire hotel smells incredibly good; we've never experienced anything like it before; an experience for all the senses. ;) The location is also perfect for all kinds of activities – whether you're interested in sports, nature, or culture, you'll definitely get your money's worth!

The service is equally excellent. The hosts have been running the hotel for several decades, but you wouldn't guess that from the modern Alpine style of the building. I stayed in this wonderful property in August. You feel right at home thanks to the courtesy and helpfulness of all the staff. Everything is perfect, and I'm not exaggerating. The chefs are top-notch, and the cuisine is out of this world. The dishes are exquisite, with original combinations. They look like paintings, so carefully prepared. The spa is beautiful, spacious, and very welcoming. The natural lake is stunning, with a lovely pool nearby. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and welcoming. The reception staff is very courteous and professional. They provide valuable information on how to organize excursions. On August 15th, a wonderful reception was organized, showcasing the variety and excellence of the ingredients. We spent the week of August 15th in this enchanting place, a fantastic experience. The hosts Gabi and Franz are two professional people available to meet every need of the customer, passionate about their work. All the staff are attentive and always with a smile. I saw great serenity, very clean rooms, top breakfast with high-quality ingredients, not to mention the gourmet dinners with local products expertly presented in a location with a view of the mountains that seemed like a painting. And what can we say about the pool area, lake and spa, an aquatic world of extraordinary beauty immersed in a well-kept greenery colored by wonderful mountain flowers. Another plus among the services offered are the various excursions with the legendary Enrico, an 80-year-old in top form who accompanied us in the wonderful mountains of Alto Adige,
the yoga lessons, a mystical experience, everything always very well taken care of, like the party on August 15th, impeccably organized and truly beautiful. I traveled with my husband and another couple of friends, and we had such a great time that we hope to return soon because the place truly deserves it. Well done, see you soon! Another weekend trip to South Tyrol, and what can I say? It was simply stunning. A friendly welcome, a beautiful pine room with a terrace and infrared cabin.
Excellent wellness area with various saunas, a steam bath, a relaxation room, and plenty of loungers. We particularly liked the idyllic natural pool with a whirlpool next to it. Across the street is a large indoor/outdoor pool. A variety of juices and teas to choose from.
As for the half-board option: we've rarely eaten so well. The cuisine is absolutely top-notch; it was simply a delight from start to finish. Friendly, attentive service, checking to see if everything was just right, and you could have had seconds in any of the dishes. Countless antipasti variations and a good selection of cheeses.
Breakfast was also very good, with honeycomb and salmon, freshly prepared omelets, a good selection of bread, and more than enough other options, as well as good coffee.
The clientele is a bit older; at least 90 percent of our guests were retirees. But that doesn't detract from the overall experience, and at checkout, we were asked again if everything was okay.
We definitely recommend it; it was amazing. We'll definitely be back.

There's nothing to complain about, except for the lack of air conditioning. Excellent food, super-friendly staff, and remarkable housekeeping. A quiet location with a wellness area, indoor and outdoor pools, plenty of space to relax, and everything spotlessly clean. The price is reasonable. The owners are almost always there to help.

I'm very satisfied!!! Lovely place and super friendly staff. Everything was perfect, from the parking to the rooms, in a flash. The spa was well-designed; I had a relaxing massage, which I highly recommend. The room was beautiful! Fabulous dinner with delicious dishes. I can't wait to see breakfast!

I can't find anything wrong with this hotel. The continental breakfast was superb!
The only downside is that the saunas and Turkish baths start at 2:00 PM, but that wasn't a big problem because, for those of you who like to hike in nature like me, there's the very interesting Apple Trail!
I usually never return to places I've already visited, but this will definitely be an exception!

This was our second time there, and we spent a wonderful 10-day holiday at the Sun. It's a hotel where you can feel completely at ease. A great, spacious room with a very comfortable bed, beautiful grounds, and a spa area that leaves nothing to be desired. Much has already been written about the food elsewhere; we can only say it was an absolute delight every evening! The entire staff is very attentive and does a great job! We highly recommend it! What more can we say than other guests have said? At Hotel Sun, we found the attention to detail truly exemplary: from the website, to the cleanliness, to the food (five courses + a salad buffet every evening!), to the furnishings, and even to the wellness center. Everything was impeccable.
Despite the inclement weather, thanks to the strategic location near Bressanone, the Guest Pass—included with our stay—allowed us to use public transportation and visit local museums conveniently and free of charge (the bus stop is just a few dozen meters from the hotel).
Another note of praise goes to the staff: in a frenetic world like the one we live in every day, dealing with people who are always smiling and professional really makes a difference.
The only disappointment is that Google doesn't allow 6 stars.

Where do I begin? From booking to the stay, everything was wonderful and satisfying. The service is personal, friendly, witty (when appropriate), and simply excellent. The rooms are very nice, and the surroundings are quiet with good transport links. The wellness area is also a) always clean and tidy b) beautiful and varied. The absolute highlight is the food and wine selection; the menu is varied and a culinary and artisanal highlight. I had the best venison ever here, paired with a great wine. A five-course dinner with dishes that are more delicious than the last. The property is in excellent condition, very welcoming, and built in a mountain style. The spa area is a highlight, with meticulous attention to detail; as soon as you enter, you're already relaxing (it features several lovely relaxation areas with sun loungers, deckchairs, blankets, fruit, and aromatic water; a Turkish bath, saunas, a heated pool, a whirlpool, a natural lake, and more). The hotel also offers free excursions during your stay (yoga, a shuttle bus to the ski slopes, which are about 10 minutes away, mountain walks/hikes, visits to the apple orchards, etc.). The owners are smiling, humble, and very kind; you could see their satisfaction with their hotel in their eyes. Very friendly staff. The only two flaws were the poor Wi-Fi in the pool area and the room we stayed in didn't have a bidet. The cleanliness was exceptional. At the end of our stay, they gave us a jar of honey as a souvenir, which was much appreciated. The hotel offers daily activities (we did yoga) included in the price. We also discovered the apple trail very close to the hotel, which offers a moment of relaxation.

A fantastic hotel with absolutely nothing to complain about. Wellness from the very first moment thanks to a very tasteful interior design. Tradition meets modernity. Excellent service with exceptionally friendly, discreet staff. Food allergies (gluten, lactose) are handled professionally; I didn't lack for anything. The spectacular view from the infinity pool was my highlight. The rooms are well-equipped, with very comfortable mattresses. A bus stop is just 3 minutes away, with a scheduled bus service to Brixen (2 times an hour) in 20 minutes. Wonderful hiking trails are right on the doorstep.
If you want to relax your senses and soul, this is the perfect hotel. I will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful time.

Everything was perfect: the room, the pool, the spa, the cleanliness, the food, the kindness of the staff, the organized excursion we took part in... a perfect mini vacation! The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful setting surrounded by apple orchards, an excellent starting point for beautiful walks and conveniently located just a few kilometers from the Bressanone exit. Our room was spacious, bright, and tastefully decorated. The pool and spa are truly special, and we also made use of the small gym. At breakfast and dinner, we were spoiled with a wealth of delicious treats, original dishes, well-cooked and beautifully presented. They were also very kind and accommodating to our request for a vegetarian menu. We stayed at the Hotel Sun over the weekend of June 1-4.
We decided to reach Trentino for this vacation by train, so we arrived at Bolzano station. The hotel offers a shuttle service, which, according to the website, must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Having forgotten, we reached the hotel by public transportation (which was extremely efficient and made our arrival easy).
From the outside, the hotel looks truly modern and clean, yet perfectly immersed in the surrounding landscape.
We were warmly welcomed and given all the necessary information. We were also provided with a card for free public transportation, and free bicycles were available for exploring the surrounding area.
The room was modern and very clean, with a balcony overlooking the pool area.
As for the spa, the hotel has a modern, clean spa, both indoors and outdoors, with a heated pool overlooking the mountains (truly a dream).
Both sun loungers and canopy beds are available by the pool (towels are provided).
We also took a very interesting hike through the apple orchards (this being the apple plateau).
Lastly, I'll leave the food.
The breakfast was quality, both for the raw ingredients (very high-quality, both sweet and savory) and for the open-plan kitchen where you could request egg dishes made to order (a typical feature of high-end establishments).
Finally, dinner, last but not least.
Dinner includes both an appetizer buffet and a 5-6 course menu. I've never seen such cuisine in a 4-star hotel; it could easily have been offered in a 5-star hotel, and it would still have seemed like cuisine worthy of a higher level.
The dishes were aesthetically presented with meticulous attention to detail, and, using mostly regional products, they were able to extract unique flavors from the raw ingredients. I think I've eaten in restaurants of this caliber very few times.
In conclusion, a short holiday, but truly perfect, so as a rating on any scale it may be, it cannot be given anything other than the highest.

It features an indoor and outdoor pool, a wellness/relaxation area, and a variety of outdoor activities. We really liked the hotel; the warm welcome is warm, the spacious entrance area has a terrace, a bar, and delicious cocktails.
The breakfast and dinner are fantastic. The service is first-class, and in the evenings, there's a 6-course menu, always beautifully presented.
The Hipolt family is always around and takes care of their guests' well-being.
There's an indoor pool connected to the outdoor pool, a natural swimming pond, and plenty of loungers.
There are plenty of parking spaces behind the hotel, and a few underground parking spaces are also available for an additional charge.
All in all, a successful and very relaxing vacation.

We spent four wonderful days at the Hotel Sun. The beautiful hotel is beautifully situated on a high plateau surrounded by apple orchards and offers a great starting point for all kinds of excursions. Whether shopping in Brixen or hiking and biking in the mountains and surrounding area.
But the best part is the hotel itself!
The warmth of the hosts and staff is palpable in every area.
Our room (Golden Delicious) was super nice and meticulously clean (like the entire hotel) with a beautiful view of the mountains.
The food (half board) was simply fantastic, and the kitchen deserves a very high praise!
We really enjoyed the beautiful pool and the wellness area with its garden pond and whirlpool, and we were able to relax thoroughly.
Conclusion: Highly recommended!

The Hotel Sun is idyllically situated amidst apple orchards on the outskirts of town.
The location is ideal as a starting point for hikes, and the nearest ski resorts, such as Gitschberg/Jochtal, Plose, and Kronplatz, are about a half-hour drive away.
The rooms, or rather the room I had, were attractive, spacious, and clean; the bed was very comfortable; the building was just a bit noisy.
The wellness area is particularly noteworthy; in addition to several saunas, there is a steam bath, a whirlpool, a natural swimming pond, an indoor pool, and a fairly large outdoor pool. The entire complex is very well maintained.
Both massages were very good.
The food at the hotel is excellent; a very extensive breakfast buffet and a multi-course dinner are included in the half board.
You'll also feel truly at home thanks to the fantastic, very friendly, and attentive staff. The owners are also on-site and take an interest in your successful stay.
Overall, I can recommend this hotel and it certainly won't be the last time I stay there.

The hotel is invaded by retirees immediately after the holiday season.
They hang out by the pool and in the wellness area all day. Some lie there like dead people for hours. Until a bad smell starts wafting out of those corners every now and then. They're also the first to arrive at dinner and fill their plates at the buffet. They hinder everyone else because they don't know what to eat first. And they're also terribly dressed, especially the Swiss. They don't smell good either, and white socks with sandals are apparently traditional there. Not to mention the short hiking pants. Completely styleless and old-fashioned.

You can relax in the beautifully landscaped garden or in the many areas of the wellness area. The cleanliness of both the common areas and the rooms is impeccable. The cuisine is high-quality: a wonderful breakfast buffet and dinner, with a buffet section and numerous small courses of revisited dishes of all kinds, are plentiful and excellent (perhaps at times a little sophisticated for those with simpler tastes). Weekly activities of all kinds are offered, included in the price. The Almencard, provided to each guest, is also very useful.
All the staff are very kind and attentive. Special thanks to our charming waitress Amina and the owners Gabi and Franz, who are smiling and friendly and always actively involved in all hotel activities to ensure excellent oversight and management and to obtain feedback from guests. Excellent is the right word. There's no comment about the location; the photos on the website and Google preview the elegance and atmosphere of the hotel, which boasts spacious, well-maintained spaces. Great attention to detail; every room is spotless and full of thoughtful details. What you don't see, however, is the service:
The staff is extremely professional, kind, precise, helpful, and attentive: water in the room and clean glasses every morning, wine in the glass at the table, clean cutlery, and adequate breaks between courses.
We are vegetarians, and although the menu always included vegetarian options, we were always asked if we wanted something special. On my partner's birthday, the entire staff wished him a happy birthday; at breakfast, we found the table decorated, a lit candle, and a mini heart-shaped Sacher torte with the words "Happy Birthday!" written on it.
What more can I say? The difference is evident in the smallest details. Congratulations, truly.

Hotel Sun far exceeded our expectations and was a fantastic value. The rooms were modern, clean and smelled like pine. The bed / mattress was also one of the most comfortable we have experienced in a hotel. We especially enjoyed using the infrared cabins.
The wellness and sauna areas were wonderful - even in winter - with staff regularly stocking up the juice area and cleaning the area.
The food was delicious and the staff very attentive - going above and beyond.
We definitely plan on returning- thank you for a lovely stay!

My girlfriend and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for 4 days.
We had a truly wonderful time; everything was perfect.
The hotel is meticulously maintained, both inside and out.
The rooms are truly splendid, spacious, and impeccably clean.
The indoor pool, which connects to the outdoor pool, is truly magnificent. So are the relaxation area, saunas, and outdoor whirlpool. Everything was also very clean.
As for the food, it was a fabulous experience.
The dishes were unique, both for the eyes and the palate.
Many compliments to the chef!
The owners were truly friendly and helpful.
The waiters were also very kind.
In short, if you want to spend a few days of total relaxation in a splendid facility, go to the Sun Hotel.
You won't want to leave!!

The stay at Hotel Sun was, as always, first-class.
The food was super creative and delicious, the best I've ever eaten. I thought their Valentine's Day menu was particularly fitting.

What we found very positive:
- Pool: Large, warm (indoors and outdoors), saunas
- Saunas
- Relaxation area (occasionally, when many people are talking in the hallway, the rooms are poorly soundproofed, and occasionally the staff also speak very loudly)
- Everyone is friendly
Why not 5 stars:
- No Wi-Fi in our room (additionally, weak internet connection throughout the hotel, which isn't the hotel's fault, as the village unfortunately doesn't offer a strong bandwidth)
- The food was very good, but for a five-star rating, we felt something special was missing, especially at breakfast (e.g., local cheese, local items, variety, etc.). Furthermore, some courses were not always up to the standard (for a 5-star rating) we have received at hotels in South Tyrol where we would give 5 stars for the food.
- Outdated (sometimes non-functioning) equipment in the fitness room. We were assured that this has already been ordered. The room itself is nice and new with lots of glass.

Couple's vacation, hotel found by chance. The hotel is beautiful, with attention to every detail, from the furnishings to the greenery surrounding the entire property. The interior of the hotel is even more beautiful, with several relaxation areas. The rooms are furnished down to the smallest detail, one above all.... The umbrella and shoehorn are available. The bath linens, bed linens, and pool towels are spotless. The staff is truly very kind, I thank the ladies who make up the rooms, the waiters, and the guys who keep the pool clean and all the maintenance. The breakfast is amazing, the jams.... , everything you think of eating at the SUN is there. Dinner is a delight for the eyes and the palate. There are two interconnected pools, one indoor and one outdoor, a swimming pond, and a whirlpool. A special compliment goes to the owners, Gabriella and Franz, always kind and available to meet every need. It's a shame we only stayed a week... I highly recommend the SUN. I hope to return soon. A magnificent place. We found nothing lacking in attention to detail, from the rooms to the common areas, from the relaxation area to the garden and outdoor pond. Impeccable service, attentive, polite, and always present staff (a special mention to Melanie who looked after us at the table). As for the dinners, they were also an experience... carefully prepared, balanced, colorful, and authentic dishes. Free bike rental service with excellent bikes! A massage in the relaxation area was also a very peaceful and relaxing moment of pampering. Furthermore, every day there are many and varied options, some original and sophisticated. Modern and tastefully decorated hotel. Spacious and spotlessly clean room. Beautifully landscaped garden and ample parking. The staff, whether at the reception, the chambermaids, around the pool, or in the restaurant, are all equally friendly and attentive. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. We only used the heated pool and massages. We had a wonderful time!
The fifth star is missing because of the bedding. While it may be "allergy-friendly," we're not used to synthetic pillows, pillowcases, and duvet covers. We'll bring our own next time, as we'll definitely be back :-). Best regards, The Serné-van Cann Family

I can't find any other words to describe this hotel other than FANTASTIC.
We stayed for 5 days and had a truly wonderful time.
The staff were very polite, friendly, and super helpful.
The rooms were modern and traditional.
The room and hotel were extremely clean and tidy.
The pool and relaxation area with sauna, jacuzzi, and fantastic natural lake.
The breakfast was plentiful with every delicacy imaginable.
The apple juice was AWESOME.
The gourmet dishes were not only visually beautiful, but also incredibly delicious.
The desserts were fantastic.
The anti-Covid regulations were fully respected. Perhaps just a small comment about the breakfast buffet, which was free to use, but I also understand that managing this is not easy during this time.
I never saw a mask on the staff; they were truly attentive and professional in that regard.
My only complaint, perhaps, was the cost of water per liter: €4.
Perhaps I would consider a price reduction.
In conclusion, the entire HOTEL SUN deserves a 5-star or 10-star rating.
I will definitely return.

Wonderful!!!! It's a hotel where you're pampered from the moment you arrive to the moment you check out. The rooms are large and furnished in wood. We were assigned a very romantic one, with a four-poster bed and infrared sauna! The cleanliness is impeccable, with towels changed daily and room service spotless. The food is worthy of a gourmet restaurant. We had half board, and every evening we were offered a rich and varied menu featuring fish, meat, and typical South Tyrolean dishes. A special mention goes to Sofia, who was always attentive to our every request and extremely kind! The breakfast is wonderful: a huge selection of sweet and savory options, and above all, they never let anything go unnoticed. The owners are always kind and available to offer suggestions for excursions and visits, and they also organize a free guided hike every day. The wellness area, saunas, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, and natural lake are top-notch. If you're in the area, staying at this hotel is definitely worth it. Finally, a small note that isn't meant to be a criticism but rather a personal observation: the price of a one-liter bottle of water is way too high. However, that aside, my wife and I will definitely be back. Thanks to the Hilpold family.

The rooms are beautiful and spacious, the food excellent, and the wellness area with its various saunas, pool, and natural lake is wonderfully designed and inviting. The massage options are also extensive. All the staff are extremely courteous and very friendly. We also appreciated the free use of the parking garage. A ski storage room is also available. From the hotel, you can quickly reach all the diverse and beautiful places in South Tyrol. In winter, the Dolomiti Superski pass grants access to 12 different ski areas, including the Sellaronda and the historic Mountain Infantry Tour. In summer, there's something for everyone, from hiking, paragliding, horseback riding, and cycling to swimming and shopping. Truly fantastic and highly recommended! We will definitely be back!

What more could you want? In this tastefully renovated, Alpine-style Hotel Sun, we were able to relax wonderfully and explore the surrounding area. We felt welcomed by the attentiveness and care of our hosts, Franz and Gabi Hilpold. They gave us many good tips for exploring the surrounding area, organized hikes from the hotel, and even arranged a private transfer to Brixen train station. The new rooms, with their generous pinewood furnishings, and the tastefully decorated lobby with pleasant seating areas are a wonderful way to feel at home. Dinner is delicious and is mostly served at the table. The appetizer buffet, where the reuse of food is a positive feature, is good and plentiful. Listening to Josef's wine recommendations is highly recommended. The highlight and conclusion of our hiking days were always the last two hours in the beautifully designed sauna area with a garden and natural swimming pond, as well as a heated indoor and outdoor pool. Relaxing on the waterbed was also a great way to go. What more could you want?

I've known the hotel since 2005. We've returned for a few days approximately every two years. The location is simply fantastic. The owners are incredibly friendly, as is the staff. The rooms are very spacious and so immaculately maintained, both inside and out. The food is fantastic—where else can you find a head waiter walking through the restaurant with a main course tray, offering seconds? I've recommended this hotel to at least four other friends who have also been there, and they were all thrilled. Today, even more has been added; consequently, the prices have gone up. Tidy, clean, very friendly, very quiet. The only drawback for those who want to explore the surrounding area is that you have to constantly go up and down from the village. For those who like to walk or cycle, it's excellent. Very close to Novacella, a historically important Augustinian abbey.

I really enjoyed it. I went with Royer Voyages and just got back yesterday.
The only downside is that there's no water carafe, and a liter of bottled water costs 4 euros.

We can only recommend it, because here you can definitely go down and charge the battery!!!
