Pristine nature in Ulten

South of Meran lies one of the most pristine valleys in South Tyrol. The 40 km long valley of Ulten near Lana holds an invaluable treasure of untouched nature and rich farming culture. The first village St. Pankraz offers interesting walks to destinations as the “Häuserl am Stein” (the little house at the rock) or the St. Helena-Church on a hill overlooking the village. St. Walburg, the largest village in the valley, attracts with its “Lake-Walk” around the dam Zoggler, the walk to Bath Überwasser – the mineral spring in the forest, or the Farm-Walk of Ulten in Kuppelwies, which provides insights into local culture and tradition.

Hiking and Ski Arena Schwemmalm

In Kuppelwies visitors find the cable car leading up to the high plain of Schwemmalm. In summer the mountain pastures invite for great hikes, while in winter the slopes, snow-park and kids-park are easily reachable by shuttle from the hotels in Ulten.

Under ancient larches in St. Gertraud

On a sunny slope lies the picturesque village St. Nikolaus with the Museum of Ulten. In winter the Albl Family & Fun-park opens its legendary Snowtubing Trail. In St. Gertraud at the end of the valley lies Lake Weißbrunn, starting point for a variety of tours into the depths of Stilfserjoch National Park. In St. Gertraud stand the honorary over 2000 years old larches of Ulten.
