Eggen at the foot of Latemar

On the communal grounds of Deutschnofen lies Eggen in Eggental at an altitude of 1.120 meters. The village in the heart of UNESCO World Nature Heritage Dolomites gained over the past decades great fame due to the ski-resort Latemar-Obereggen not far from Mt. Rosengarten. A ski bus brings guests from the hotels in Eggen in less than ten minutes to the foot of Latemar, where modern lifts help to cover the last bit and bring to the summit with its spectacular 360 degree view. By the way, directly in the village are restaurants, pizzerias and cafés, shops, tennis courts, basket and soccer fields, a volleyball field, and a sports center with playground and a skate-park. Those who feel the need for culture in between, find in Eggen the Church of St. Nikolaus and above Petersberg the place of pilgrimage Maria Weißenstein. Regular buses bring travelers in only 20 minutes to the South Tyrolean capital Bozen, where a rich cultural offer gives a great overview of the region.
