Wild nature in Rasen-Antholz
The valley Antholzertal, a northern side valley in Pustertal, extends all the way till the crystal-clear waters of the wild lake of Antholz. The valley in the nature park Rieserferner-Ahrn borders in Northwest to the Rieserferner range with the 3.000 m high summit Hochgall. A road that leads over the saddle Staller to East Tyrol offers spectacular views to those lucky enough to find the road open. Mountain bikers will know the saddle as a station of the impressive Klamml-Round, where the Rieserferner-Group is circled in one day.
In the biathlon-center in the valley of Antholz
Antholzertal has hosted repeatedly the biathlon world-championship and offers hobby-biathletes a training camp with its cross-country center. But before and after the competition the valley offers above all peace and tranquility. Visitors find in the wildly romantic valley of Antholz besides the rugged Rieserferner glaciers deep green meadows, profound coniferous forests and the extraordinary wild lake of Antholz. In the winter visitors of Rasen will find horse sleigh rides. Beside the cross-country center the commune of Rasen-Antholz has its own ski lift, but also the next access to the ski resort Kronplatz is not further away than Olang. Ski-buses bring guests regularly to the diverse hotels in Rasen-Antholz.
A delightful experience is a walk on one of the many theme paths on site: for instance to mansion Heufler, the castle ruins of Alt- and Neurasen, the bunker number 7, the Mühltal (=mill valley) or the natural spring Solomonsquell. The spring was once called Bath Antholz and has been known since 1612. Especially “female disorders” were treated with the healing water. Who wants to discover the pristine beauty of this valley, finds here the most beautiful hotels in Rasen-Antholz in the holiday region Kronplatz.
