Summer residence Ritten
Above Bozen, between Valle Isarco and Sarntal, lies Ritten on a sunny high plain. The citizens of Bozen recognized the beauty and beneficial effects of the area early and built respectable summer residences on the gentle hills between linden and larches. One of the most impressive nature phenomena in South South Tyrol are the earth pyramids in Ritten – a short walk from Klobenstein leads directly to them. They are with over 30 meters the highest and most beautiful in Europe. The historical train of Ritten goes regularly between the villages Klobenstein and Oberbozen. Tour of heaven on Rittner Horn
For a more ambitious walk to the peaks of Rittner Horn visitors are best advised to take the cable way to the summit of „Schwarzseespitze“. From here starts the „Tour of Heaven“ and reaches the top in the course of a few hours. Then at 2.260 meters the view clears up to all directions, and reveals among others the South Tyrolean „skyscrapers“, the Dolomites in the South-East. In summer special sunrise-trips are offered, including breakfast buffet and music. On other days cultural events such as the jazz-festival, the church festival or the Horn-Festival invite for a good time.
