Vacationing in Vals
On the road to Vals it dawns, that this might be a very special place. Here a few lodges serve great meals to hungry walkers; you can buy freshly made cheese and a variety of home-made products. “Fane Alm” is the starting point for many hikes leading to the lodge “Brixner Hütte” or “Wilde Kreuzspitze”. On the way you might pass the “South Tyrolean Milk path”, where you can learn about the life-cycle of the “white gold”, from the cow to the milk carton. After the long hike relaxation in the hotels of Vals comes easy. Upon reservation the Thermal Baths offer a great treat for painful muscles. Those who already miss the bustling city life are well advised to visit the nearby medieval towns of Brixen or Bruneck or the holiday region Kronplatz in Reischach.

During winter visitors of the Fane Alm can enjoy the toboggan run leading all the way to the valley. There, a cross-country ski track offers the best conditions for practicing this sport in the beautiful surroundings. A cable way brings visitors up to the peaks of Gitschberg, providing a spectacular panoramic view over the Alps. High from the mountain air and the view, one can now approach the descent.
