In the outdoor paradise Obereggen
Over the years Obereggen at the foot of Latemar in the Dolomites has become a well-known destination in the Alps. The popular holiday resort with 18 lifts and corresponding traditional alpine cabins impresses year after year again with its ideally prepared slopes. The South Tyrolean ski-center Latemar, which comprises beside Obereggen also Predazzo and Pampeago, offers 48 km of downhill slopes, where locals and visitors equally indulge in the winter sports, since the 60s. In the summer the panoramic cable way opens its doors in Obereggen and transports visitors comfortably up to the peak, where different walking paths wait to be explored. The highest point of Mt. Latemar is the Western Peak with 2.842 meters. North of the mountain lies Lake Karersee; a bit further east Karerpass, around it the spectacular Mt. Latemar and Rosengarten.
On the high rope course of Obereggen visitors can test their fear of heights on 3 different parcours and 25 stations. Kids find here a playground with jumping castle. In the nearby Petersberg a golf club offers passionate golfers – but also all the others – plenty of possibilities to practice.
