Nestled amidst numerous ancient residences and estates, lies Tramin on the wine road in the South of South Tyrol. Its true character transcends purely in autumn, when tractors fully loaded with dark blue grapes navigate through the narrow alleys and spread the scent of fresh must; when palms, vineyards and orchards glisten under the Southern sun and lead the way to the lake-paradises of Kaltern, Montiggl and Fennberg.
By foot or by bike
A spectacular view over the mountains of South Tyrol and Trentino waits on the high plain Mendel, Monte Roen and the walking paths in Tramin, Kurtatsch, Auer, Montan and Neumarkt. Whether you choose to spent exciting hours in the orchards or vineyards of Tramin or to pedal along to the Lake of Kaltern - Tramin provides a special setting to hike, bike and relax.
The village of Tramin contains the most extraordinary and historically precious buildings and art works in the South of South Tyrol; you can visit here the Romanic church St. Jacob in Kastelaz, the Church of St. Valentin, the Church of St. Mauritius, and other numerous churches, monuments and residences. Trademark of the village is the gothic church with the 86 meter high bell-tower.
The fine wine of Tramin: Gewürztraminer
Southern airiness and a pleasant fragrance mark the locally cultivated vine, which presents itself in a glowing straw-gold. During the Wine Street Festival dedicated to this fine drop, the Gewürztraminer is served in a friendly and relaxed ambiance. Thanks to the mild climate in the South, the winters are an equally pleasant season for tours through the sleeping winter landscape. Find here the best hotels in Tramin in the South of South Tyrol!
Peaceful location and family atmosphere nestled among orchards between Bozen and Meran, indoor and outdoor wellness, gourmet cuisine and fine wines, a wide range of activities from biking to golf.
Our favourite place to stay in the Dolomites for a ski holiday, Hotel Gran Baita has become a genuine home-from-home that we look forward to returning to year after year.
The food is consistently superb, with generous breakfasts and beautifully prepared dinners that feel closer to fine dining than to standard “ski hotel” fare. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is relaxed and casual, so you can properly unwind after a day on the mountain. Staff are friendly and always make us feel genuinely welcome, from reception to the restaurant and bar, and that warmth really adds to the overall experience. Gran Baita is the place we keep coming back to, and it’s the first hotel we recommend to friends planning a trip to the Dolomites.
Great experience at the Alpin Garden.
Hotel with a very nice spa, nice service, great friendly personnel.
Ski area shuttle also for ski rentals.
The rooms are very nice but I’m not a big fan of the main areas of the hotel like restaurants and lounge. It all fell very crowded and not traditional mountain looking.
Spa is high standards + small useful gym.
It was an absolutely stunning hotel. We got upgraded to an amazing Love suite, the view was incredible. The breakfast was served in a very unique way, we enjoyed it . We ll come back again next year . Marcus is an outstanding manager, he realty knows what are the needs of the travelers . The Spa is gorgeous with a very strong sauna . Thank you for having us !!!
